Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

When I read this statement I damn near fell outta my chair laughing at it's ridiculousness. But just in case you actually believe that nonsense, here some reading for you:
From the TF Wiki:
* Hasbro should totally cater to the wishes of older collectors, as they purchase the most Transformers product.
Fans would like to think they've got some sway over the direction of the Transformers brand. After all, they've been buying toys for many years (as opposed to the limited purchasing span of most children), and they buy many more toys than any individual child. And in truth, Hasbro does pay attention to the desires and discussions of its older buyers, even designing certain line segments like Alternators and Classics with collectors as the primary target audience.
Collectors, however, simply can't compare to the vast numbers of children out there whose parents buy Transformers for them. The bulk of Transformers product is purchased for and/or by young children, and if it wants to stay in business and keep making money (and by extension, more toys), Hasbro must design and market its products accordingly. No accurate figures exist on the collector/children ratio, but estimates mentioned at BotCon panels range from around 10% to 20% of all purchases coming from older collectors—enough to be worth listening to, but not at all the driving force behind the brand. Past toylines have shown that betting too much on sales from adult collectors can be disastrous.
Furthermore, it's not as though the fans speak with a unified voice. More often, for every fan pushing for one particular idea, there's another fan who thinks that same idea is boring or awful.
As for the Hotshot figure, I liK JAaM!(saw the pics before the exceeded bandwidth

The transformation is more involved than I expected. Combine that with his new ability to move his shoulders, and he is now on my buy list.

But you have to admit that if the fans were to stop buying they would lose a good amount of money due to it. Not enough to stress over but it would make a dent. Especially in this day and age. Also you have to think, since fans buy on average 2-5 or even more figures per week and the average adult buys their kid 1 or 2 at the most 3 per week. Yeah the little kids drive the market but we play our part as well.
Oh and i still cant see the pics. If any one saved them can you please post them.

Did you read my post? Yeah, we as fans do enough to have our opinions heard, but if we all stopped buying tomorrow, it wouldn't hurt Hasbro or the TF brand at all. It's a multi-million dollar franchise, we're a blip on the radar, but not so significant that Hasbro has factored in the total fanbase in the bottom line(unlike the MOTU franchise). I just find it humorous that some fans STILL think that Transformers still is around solely because of the fans.

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who has started the TF fire going with another generation and not just with interest in whatever series is on T.V. at the time. It didn't take long for my kids to soak up ALL of the TF info I could throw their way and because of it they have now managed to collect some figures older than they are.
We may not be Hasbros immediate target demographic but many of our wallets are supplying that demographic so it stands to reason that Hasbro should do some butt-kissing every now and again. I know that if I bailed on the whole Transformer thing, my oldest boy would bail with me and my youngest would slowly follow. (Hell hasn't frozen over yet so Hasbro still has me, but the point is still valid)

T-Macksimus wrote:Something you may also want to factor in is that there are those of us fans that are supporting the purchases of thos kids as well. My boys (who live with their mother, not me) have a fairly good sized collection of TF's thanks largely in part to me and I have not exactly scrimped on my own collection either. When this new figure hits the WM or Target nearest me, I'll likely be buying 2 of them since HotShot is a favorite of my youngest son.

And I do the same for my son, doesn't mean if I ever stop collecting TFs that he'll loose interest.
Eh, if fans still wanna think that they are the sole driving force behind this multi-million dollar franchise, let 'em. And then let 'em wonder why not everything is the way they want it.

One thing is for sure, unless the Henkei version has the JAMm plates, the Hasbro version wins.

We may not be responsible for all the sales by any stretch, by I do believe that fan influence covers more than 10% of the market.
Whatever the category or demographic my kids and I fall into I'm still probably going to be stuck buying 2 Hot Shots and I won't bitch about that fact 1 bit.

This'd be a great wave, if it happens.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.
