Okay so they released another MP optimus reissue only to release another version of MP optimus thats smaller with a trailer and a different mould for a price thats just as much as the giant original with a trailer.... ARE THEY HIGH? JESUS, THERE BETTER BE DIECAST EVERYWHERE, INFINITE NON-SCRATCHABLE PAINT, CHROME EVERYWHERE, AND A SOLID BRICK OF GOLD INCLUDED .. then I MIGHT even click on the picture to view it ... or they could stop being ridiculous and drop the price about A HUNDRED bucks... -sigh- I've lost respect for you Takara (if this information is true that is).

hmmmm ... disappointing to say the least. I expected a conehead to tie them over while they developed a new mold.

If that's the new mold, regardless of how flash it is (and that fact that i'll buy it regardless) I would have still preferred a conehead.

Cool but I was hoping for a new character. When I saw this I thought it might be a Movie Masterpiece (an actual masterpiece and not a repainted leader), but I guess it isn't. It would be really great to get some actual masterpiece movie figures...

This really is a sad day...
This means that MP-10 will be the last Masterpiece to be released.
Who is willing to pay $250 for yet another Optimus figure?
The first one was good... The trailer version was nice (but already way to expensive) and after that you got a dead prime and final Prime and I don't know how many other version of Prime...
I can't believe those sold all that well?

This is, IMHO, a very, very bad call by Takara Tomy...
Something like the very first MP Starscream... It just sat there in the Japanese stores and wouldn't even go if it was for free.

Im still putting my chips towards a powermaster OP/God Ginrai. thats the only other prime i would want as a masterpiece otherwise im still pretty comfortable with the first run i got for MP-01.

If it comes out to be true I say that is a BIG lack of respect for the collectors. NO ONE IS ASKING FOR ANOTHER MP OPTIMUS PRIME/CONVOY (like if Hasbro/Takara ever listen/cares to any customer's opinion...).

Another Prime? So they are making it smaller and increasing the price? Some of the details don't sound like things that we typically get for new releases, especially the windscreen and grill alignment. Can anyone name me a time when Takara has ever addressed QC issues before? This doesn't add up.

I have more faith in it being Ultra Magnus or a new character.

There is no need for another Optimus Prime. They got it spot on with the first release. I know it was missing the trailer but the robot mode and vehicle mode were perfect. I hear people complain that he isn't in scale with other Masterpiece figs or the classics line. First, MP01 is not intended to be part of the classics line, that is why there is a classics style Optimus Prime available. Compared to other Masterpiece figs, surely that is the fault of the designers not making the other Masterpiece characters in scale with Optimus Prime, not the other way round. If this is simply a downscaled and slightly improved Optimus, I'm not buying. I will of course wait for official confirmation before making any decisions.

Another MP Prime!? I have yet to see the mold before I pass final judgement,... but this is a letdown. We have enough Primes out there and the first one was fine & with the trailer made it better.

The Transformers universe is so huge and they have lots to choose from! Why revisit this one (& the fans have to wait so long for the next)? Who wouldnt want to have a large MP version of SHOCKWAVE & GALVATRON (these where mentioned & very good picks!)?

For my dream MP it would be SIXSHOT! How cool would that be Masterpiece'd

Wouldn't mind it if this paves the way for an actual MP-11 Magnus w/ armour. Even better if it's PowerMaster Prime.

Though it's disappointing that it's not Galvatron.

I'm not believing anything until I see more resources. This just seems dumb for Takara to want to make a smaller MP Prime.

Unless it's the Powermaster version and can combine with the trailer, I don't see this flying well with anyone.

Usually, I'm cool with anything they release, but I don't want another Prime for an MP. I've already got MP-04 and that's fine for me.

I was expecting Galvatron or Devastator.

Galvatron actually seemed logical seeing how Rodimus Prime just came out. I would have even been happy with Devastator as unlikely as he would be.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as attacking you if I did. So far sources are few on what this actually is so I want to wait until I know what it is for sure.

I kind of went off on a tangent yeah, my rants can get opinionated quite a bit at times.

Still, why another MP Convoy? It just does not make any sense at all. I know Prime sells, but to make the figure smaller and include a traile with a $250 price tag is insane.

Just want to make sure that EVERYONE know the MP-04 was sold with a trailer for $180.

$70 additional better give me something that can top MP-04 and I have a hard time figuring out how they could possibly improve that figure.

in a Walmart Thundercracker though (they usually release a
seeker sometime around a new movie? lol).

Definitely would have to see pics before I bite. For
250 (yeesh) he must be mostly if not all die cast?

Positive note if he is smaller then the inevitable Megatron
ver2 will definitely be closer to scale then looking like a
DE which might be worth the new prime alone... (hopefully
mostly die cast too!)

A convoy but something that would piss me and a lot of fandom off....

a lot of G1ers around.

I say Movie Prime with Trailer. Would be a waste as I don't buy the movie stuff... and from all the G1 guesses it would send the most people up in arms.

could see a God Ginrai, or Ultra Magnus but magie isn't a convoy. Oh well we'll just have to see

I really want to see what this looks like. I've always said that I don't want big overly tall Masterpieces, Grimlock is the perfect height for me and by the sounds of this thing (if all is true) then it would be perfect for my collecting preferences.
I will wait for more concrete info but my MPL1 (still MISB) may well end up going on Ebay to raise cash for this instead.

If they're re-booting the line then fair enough but I just hope Galvatron gets a figure this time as he was the logical choice to follow Rodimus (and my personal most wanted Masterpiece - in his anime colours).

I just hope everyone realises that this means we'll probably be getting another all white "Magnus" and Nemesis Prime as well down the line...... :BANG_HEAD:

Or yet another version of Optimus Prime. Which would be an easy pass for me as they've already done way too many Optimus Prime repaints in this line and a new mold but still Prime would be just such a boring choice. Oh well, interestingly I'm actually quite pissed off now as this seems like it's the most likely choice.
