What is it with Beast Wars that people bring it up?

naw, the hard sell would be because of the first beast wars game for PS1, because it is considered one of the worst transformers games ever. although i'll still take that over beast wars transmetals for N64 (PS1 version was prety good)

It had significantly better writing than G1, for starters. Also it had a smaller cast so they were able to focus on better character development.
Animal based combat CAN work. Look at Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Okami. But what the original Beast Wars game failed to do was give people a good reason to, and resorted to FORCING them to by turning the deadly excess of Energon on the show into a game mechanic.
Instead, give the Beast Modes something worth transforming for. Enhanced mobility, some kind of special attack, or special ability. Cheetor could cross huge distances quickly, Optimus could perform a bunch of melee attacks, and Tarantulas could crawl up walls. That's off the top of my head.

But now I'm a bit disappoint. Partially because I might be the only person in this section who owns the PS1 and N64 Beast Wars games, and partially because people are bashing Beast Wars. It's hands down the best written Transformers on American tv. Animooted can't hold a candle to it, and in terms of story and character development the original toon can't either.

A) I HAVE beast wars for the PS1, and beast wars transmetals for PS1 and N64 (2 VERY different games)
B) This is not a debate about the tv shows, its a debate about weather or not beast wars would make a good WFC style game
C) If you have both versions of beast wars games, you have to admit they are subpar, right?
