That's another strike against CW for me . All ready a new leg in the works and the inevitable hands feet head and weapons up grades , if Hasbro can't see anything wrong with tiny feet and giant fists =; .

Meh. That's like saying any Hasbro product that has a 3rd Party upgrade in the works isn't worth having.

if you look at uranos, the only 3P superion currently out, and say "why cant you do this hasbro?" then your expectations are awfully high. because really look at him: uranos is pretty much an MP, what with his size and engineering. most 3P combiners are MP quality, aside from scaling. some people may need to reevaluate what in their collection needs the MP treatment, and what are just standard figures. for me, only MP's need a high level of detail and engineering. IMO, hasbros upcoming superion fits the bill for a classics/generations "standard" looking figure. and ill buy whatever 3P upgrades i can get to bring him a slight notch higher (like making slingshot a proper plane).

in agreeance, you hit all the nails on the heads, great job.

Don't need to have every 1980's Transformers character toy to get the most perfect update toy. simply not willing to spend Ten of Thousands of dollars in buying 3rd party Transformers toys. in attempts to try to replicate all of all the 1980's Transformers characters toys in 3rd party toys updates forms.

Only need a handful of Transformers characters toys to get the perfect versions update toys. The majority, I care less about and i'm willing to settle for less than perfect HasTak updates toys.

As an owner of Uranus, I can say he fits in with a classics collection just fine. Sure the individual robot modes are a little on the large side, but the combiner mode isn't freaking huge like Warbotron. Also, unlike most MP figures, the transformations are pretty straight forward and simple. I own deluxe ROTF figures with more complex engineering than the Uranus bots.

Not at all i love an Upgrade , but not when seeing a figure that's not even released and it already has so many flaws it's already got upgrades in the works and you can guarantee will get more .

I'm past the days of FP Bruticus and Superion it was excellent back then but we've came a long long way since those two,imo that's a step backwards .

It's all relative. You're looking for flaws in a product that's not even final. If anything, your comments seem to be dinging Beelzeboss (which I personally think is jumping the gun), not CW Superion.

I don't know Mega , Maybe my expectation are too high these days ? being mainly focused on third party then very lightly dipping into to Hasbro and not getting the same buzz from a lot of there products has left me some what underwhelmed.

My collection "needs" have vastly changed over the last year i've went from having pretty much every Hasbro classics figure (a year ago ?) to a handful , the 3rdp world has me a little obsessed with knowing things can be better...much much better in some cases.

i collect pretty much every generations figure, including doubling up with takara versions. they still have some wow factor (windblade? so worth it). and i collect whatever 3P stuff i can afford afterwords. but i know what to expect from both parties, and usually its the 3P that lets me down (probably because high prices lead to higher expectations). i think i maintain a healthy relationship between the two.

Not bothered that one of the CW Aerials has a helicopter vehicle mode. don't care, because it's still a flying alt mode.

Years Ago, I gave one of Energon Bruticus Helicopter-bots to Energon Superion. So the E-Superion toy could have Four new molds instead of Three with Two repaints. Then I gave one of E-Seperion's jet-bots to E-Bruticus, so E-Bruticus could have Four new molds instead of Three.

Certainly not bothered enough to warrant spending $80 for a 3rd party jet-bot for CW Superion.

I'm in the opposite boat.

I buy the HasTak releases, but only the one that best represents the character, then hope for a 3P upgrade to improve on it.

Most of my collecting these days is 3P, and if it wasn't for the 3P scene, I would probably have lost interest in the hobby a while ago.

Looking at the Hasbro releases at NYCC, I'll be saving a lot of $$$ on their stuff this year. I have very little interest in any of it.

I'm hoping for a lot of figure upgrades for Combiner wars, though.

That pretty much sums up me as well rpetras .

Apart from the CW but i agree with the new NYCC reveals , i don't get why Thundercracker is leader class .

Don't even get me started on that.

They could even have used the Voyager Jetfire mold, with a few tweaks, and it would make a decent set of seekers, but NOOOOOOO, they did that instead.

I just noticed this new TC shares some of the same design .

Love the 30th Leader scale Thundercracker and i'll be buying it. Think it's a very creative and amazing extreme retool. Like the TC colors better on this sculpt than Jetfire's colors.

I'm with you. I buy nearly every Generations figure, and often try to double down with Takara where feasible. I do buy 3rd Party (clearly), but I try to be very selective.

I'm sorry... but that sounds like an awful idea. That bulky Classics Jetfire body doesn't fit the lithe form of IDW Seekers at all, not to mention the alt mode.

Back on topic, I'm glad to see Not-Slingshot may be coming....but to be honest I'd rather see Firefly repainted into Slingshot, and a more F-4 Phantom/G-1-styled Fireflight instead.

Very keen to see prototypes for Hot Air.

true dat. dont get me wrong, i still like voyager jetfire for what he is, but has issues. the way his legs ratcheted, and those terrible split feet (theyre like two high heels front and back!) made for a real challenge when posing. and yeah... it does not suit the seekers at all.

however, if someone skilled were so inclined, the voyager mold has been released in white, blue, and black. some expert kitbashing could give one the seekers he desires ;)

I definitely agree with you here! I thought Fireflight in his current molding would have made an excellent Slingshot; very Harrier-esque that alt mode.

found this.

From TRU

Item: 316077
TRA DEN DLX WILDRIDER
Original Retail: $16.99

Item: 316069
TRA DEN DLX slingshot
Original Retail: $16.99

Thinking these reveals will have drastic effects on these Beelzeboss CW combiners team members toy sales.

Just guessing most won't care the HasTak versions are repaints with maybe retooled parts and buy them instead.

If they can retool the existing jet mode to make it a proper harrier and match hasbros aesthetics in robot mode. I might still buy it. Better than a repaint. But not for over 60 bucks. That will be my limit.

As old as this post is, it's still relevant. I'm getting him and Off Road and that's it for those new teams. TFC and FP already provided me my Superion and Menasor. If Hasbro and/or Takara had done more than lazy recoloring of the Energon combiners, then okay. But too little, too late.

As old as this post is, it's still relevant. I'm getting him and Off Road and that's it for those new teams. TFC and FP already provided me my Superion and Menasor. If Hasbro and/or Takara had done more than lazy recoloring of the Energon combiners, then okay. But too little, too late.

Hasbro combiners are cheap enough that I dont mind buying them for fun even if the character is already represented by a superior version in my collection. But I may pass on Devastator because of its size. It sounds like hasbro is putting too much emphasis on the character as being legendary with this titan class crap.
