I have every confidence we'll see 3rd Party upgrades for the CW gestalts. Hands, feet, maybe a new head for Menasor...

That's another strike against CW for me . All ready a new leg in the works and the inevitable hands feet head and weapons up grades , if Hasbro can't see anything wrong with tiny feet and giant fists.

shajaki wrote:if you look at uranos, the only 3P superion currently out, and say "why cant you do this hasbro?" then your expectations are awfully high. because really look at him: uranos is pretty much an MP, what with his size and engineering. most 3P combiners are MP quality, aside from scaling. some people may need to reevaluate what in their collection needs the MP treatment, and what are just standard figures. for me, only MP's need a high level of detail and engineering. IMO, hasbros upcoming superion fits the bill for a classics/generations "standard" looking figure. and ill buy whatever 3P upgrades i can get to bring him a slight notch higher (like making slingshot a proper plane).

Meh. That's like saying any Hasbro product that has a 3rd Party upgrade in the works isn't worth having.

Not at all i love an Upgrade , but not when seeing a figure that's not even released and it already has so many flaws it's already got upgrades in the works and you can guarantee will get more .
I'm past the days of FP Bruticus and Superion it was excellent back then but we've came a long long way since those two,imo that's a step backwards .

It's all relative. You're looking for flaws in a product that's not even final. If anything, your comments seem to be dinging Beelzeboss (which I personally think is jumping the gun), not CW Superion.

I'm in the opposite boat.
I buy the HasTak releases, but only the one that best represents the character, then hope for a 3P upgrade to improve on it.
Most of my collecting these days is 3P, and if it wasn't for the 3P scene, I would probably have lost interest in the hobby a while ago.
Looking at the Hasbro releases at NYCC, I'll be saving a lot of $$$ on their stuff this year. I have very little interest in any of it.
I'm hoping for a lot of figure upgrades for Combiner wars, though.

Don't even get me started on that.![]()
They could even have used the Voyager Jetfire mold, with a few tweaks, and it would make a decent set of seekers, but NOOOOOOO, they did that instead.

true dat. dont get me wrong, i still like voyager jetfire for what he is, but has issues. the way his legs ratcheted, and those terrible split feet (theyre like two high heels front and back!) made for a real challenge when posing. and yeah... it does not suit the seekers at all.megatronus wrote:That bulky Classics Jetfire body doesn't fit the lithe form of IDW Seekers at all, not to mention the alt mode.

Very keen to see prototypes for Hot Air.

As old as this post is, it's still relevant. I'm getting him and Off Road and that's it for those new teams. TFC and FP already provided me my Superion and Menasor. If Hasbro and/or Takara had done more than lazy recoloring of the Energon combiners, then okay. But too little, too late.
