Yeah, I always thought that was dumb... A giant red Slammer. Besides which, once you get a Sixgun, that should be more then enough guns for Metroplex without Slammer becoming one as well.

Looks like the legs become the two big guns. I'm more worried about the body, it doesn't seem to do that much. Hopefully we'll get picks of what it is supposed to do soon.

Didn't the original Sixgun turn into a turret of some kind? The guns for this turret are the tips of Metroplex's hand guns, correct?
The original turned into a tower I believe, never had the toy so not 100% sure.

Not the best pic, but getting my Metroplex out of the case would be...interesting.

Looking at the other thread for this figure (that seems to have been superseded by this thread) I noticed something that was lacking in this thread. All of the pics in this thread are Six Sigma by itself. The older thread did have a pic of a prototype standing next to Metroplex.

For some additional idea of the scale, I crudely superimposed over part of this pic a part of another pic I found of Maketoys Giant standing with Metroplex. (Apologies for the blurriness of this part... but it gets the point across. My Metroplex doesn't arrive until tomorrow, or I might have tried to take an unblurry version myself!)

Image

Looks like if you go by the head, Sixgun would be a bit shorter then Devestator. But if you include the back cannons, Sixgun's taller.

Damn, this is looking good, plus it comes with Slammer :). Yeah, I'll probably buy this but I think I'm still getting TFC's as well just because it looks insane.

This is most likely the one I'll stand with my Generations Metroplex though.

Looks like the TFC Sixgun has a pre-order up on BBTS for $87.99. Hopefully this one will have a similar or smaller price point. Preferably smaller. :)

I'm hoping for $60.00 or so, but that's probably a pipe dream. I suppose, given its size, $80.00-ish isn't too unreasonable. Hope we see preorders for this guy soon!

^----This!

Based on the size of these figures, I was really expecting something in the $120 to $150 range. I am happy that I was wrong on TFCs. If these guys come in at or below TFC, I'll preorder so fast that my keyboard will smoke. Image

Wow. I look at this photo and the one thing I take from it is how small Scoop is compared to Kup. The size reduction we've seen in the figures really is quite galling.

There definitely has been shrinkage... But to be fair to Scoop, some of his plastic is taken up by his two little companions.

On the subject of Metroplex, now that I have him in hand, I cannot help but speculate on things such as where Sixgun's tower may attach.

The tower has these two pegs on the bottom:

Image

I am thinking that it might plug into these two holes that are left if you don't pull out the two random red thingies:

Or another possibility might be in these two screw holes:

Good call. I'm concerned about the two red cranes because of the "arm" missile pods. I'd be afraid they would interfere with the central core of Metroplex, where his head sits. I am very intrigued, however. Perhaps if the head is tipped forward there will be clearance.

Pre-orders are up at TFSource! Looks like there will be two versions. And, excitingly, looks like it beats the TFC version, coming in at $82.99!

US Version

Japanese Version

The difference appears to be the arm color, which explains why some of the pics we've seen previously had red arms and others had black arms.

There's some new pics, including the placement of the tower. (Looks like it is my second guess, of those screw holes.)

Image

Slammer's tank mode:

Image

What the red guns look like:

Image

So I put in my pre-order! Even though I have the U.S. Metroplex, I ordered the "Japanese" version of this guy. I like the red arms better, they'll provide a better contrast against the black guns when you have those attached.

Anyway, I am loving this Sixgun. Looks like the parts are well utilized. And, unlike TFC's version, he's quite like his G1 self in that he is made from six guns! (The two that make his legs, the twin guns on his back, and using the two black guns that come with Metroplex on his arms.)

And, of course, the fact that it comes with Slammer, as well! So with this, and the fact that Metroplex already came with Scamper, and you'll have the complete Metroplex team!

Put in a pre-order for the U.S. version, might change it later if I can (the TFsource site doesn't seem to be very user friendly).

This could be very handy for me because I was forced to go with TFsource when BBTS sold out of a couple of figures I wanted and to get reduced shipping I added a couple of other things. That included Cubex Huff, but I don't want that anymore due to bad QC and the site doesn't seem to have a way of removing anything from your stack. Is there a way to remove him or am I screwed?

Personally, I quite like TFSource, and find they have excellent customer service. For example, with Metroplex himself he arrived severely damaged. :( But TFSource stepped up to the plate. I had to pay the initial return shipping. (This was a bit of a bummer at over $40... he's a big toy!) But then they took a look at it, they were able to take another returned Metroplex they had and between the two have one complete, unbroken unit, they shipped the results back to me at no additional charge, and they reimbursed the return shipping I'd had to cover. And while I had to wait a few days to hear back from them after my initial complaint, once the process was started it all happened very quickly and communication during the process was fairly constant. So they took what initially was a crushing disappointment (opening my Metroplex and finding him broken) and turned it into a huge success!

As far as canceling orders... Are you using the Stack Manager? And is Cubex in stock, or a pre-order? If you're using the stack manager and he is a pre-order, then in your stack manager there should be a nice big red "X" to the left of each pre-order item, and clicking that "X" removes the item from your stack. Otherwise, just using the website itself, I don't think there is much you can do. But you could always try sending them an e-mail (customercare@tfsource.com) to see if there is any way of removing the item from your order.

Well, TFSource called them a US version and a Japanese version. BBTS just calls them "Red Arms" and "Black Arms." I guess, until we see packaging with names on them, we've no way of knowing if the names applied by the retailers are names from Before N After, or just arbitrary names chosen by the retailers to distinguish the two options.

As for why there's two options, who knows? Maybe the people at Before N After couldn't make up their minds, and figured, "Well, heck, let's do both, and let the people decide which one they want!"

They do both look good. I prefer the red, but if all they'd made was the black, I'd not have been unhappy. Heck, technically, the black is more accurate to G1. But, of course, G1 Sixgun's arms were just Metroplex's black guns, where as here they are separate arms and Metroplex's black guns can attach to them. If the black guns couldn't attach, I'd have probably preferred the black armed version. But since the guns do attach, I preferred the red version so that the arms would be visually distinct from them while still not clashing with Sixgun's overall color scheme. (No "Neon Green Arm" version, thank you!" 8-} ) And I think the red works better on the tower for city mode.
