They should be and I've been having this conversation a lot over the last week. The more I've discussed it the more my views have shifted and I don't think the systemic part of systemic racism is actually the system. Laws are laws. They are words on paper. Redlining was borderline illegal when it was put into practice. The only reason it worked is that there was nothing to say it was expressly ILlegal. The reason it wasn't expressly illegal is because it was patently immoral. There shouldn't have needed to be a law in the first place. The real problem is the people.

Everyone I've talked to lately wants to discuss systemic racism but I think that's missing the trees through the forest. it's the people that interpret those laws. People that enforce them. People that write them in the first place. I've had a philosphy when it comes to the police and politics. Both are positions of power and authority over other people. It's said that power corrupts but I don't believe that. We have had good leaders. If power corrupted, we would have none. Not everyone is Jesus, we're all imperfect. But some of us are -bad-. And I think the promise of power and authority attracts those people. People that are already corrupt and are looking for any way to flex that power on other people. Power doesn't corrupt, power enables corruption. A racist without power is just a racist and can't do more than hurt your feelings. A racist in public office can hurt a LOT of people and will do so with a smile on their face and a knife behind their back. I think -that- is where we are now.

Bad cops are a big topic of discussion right now. Lets think about that for a minute. A police officer is a person who enforces the law. There is absolutely nothing racial about that. Make a good person a cop and they will be a good cop. Make a bad person a cop and they will be a bad cop. That seems logical. Given the stresses involved in being a cop it's not exactly a job most people jump at. Some people dream of it, some people want to serve and protect, sure. But bad people? They wanted to have power over others since they could fathom the concept and they're going to flock to those positions. The same thing goes for politicians at every level, from the mayor all the way up to the executive office. Hell, even your boss at work. I'm sure we've all had a boss at some point that loved to torment people just because they could.

Tearing down the system isn't going to fix this. Something else will be built in its place and one of two things will come from it: Either it will be just as corrupt from the get go, the other end of the poverbial pendulum swing in action, or it will be like what we have now, a good system that bad people will want into. Reforming the system won't work either. it might help, but it'll be a bandaid over a wound. This is a community problem that we're responsible for, ALL of us, not whites, not blacks, all of us. The minute we try to put it on one side or the other we create a division for the bad people to hide in. We need to find these people in our own communities and hold them responsible ourselves. If you have a local racist, disassociate with them. Not just you, but your entire community. Make them public. Make them know they and their attitudes are not welcome. If we stop it at the community level, they can't get into the positions where they can -actually- hurt people. That's how we can fix this, and we can't do it while we're too busy fighting each other.

Actually, you are completely backwards.

I wasn't going to argue against your post because A) it was completely uncalled for in this thread, B) you have a consistent history of dropping stuff that is barely part of the subject and arguing your point when there is literally no point to be had, and C) in order to post something similar, I would be posting a police brutality video to offset it, since a few negative actions should not cast light on a whole.

I'm not here to make you feel better, you have proven you are part of the problem. You need to become educated and make a better person out of yourself.

It's not. I don't disagree with it, but it still doesn't belong in this thread, because its content is not what the thread is about.

It is good to read the positive comments after making this decision to put something bigger than any of us first and foremost on our topics of discussion rather than pretending like none of this is happening. Everything happening this year is too big to just sit on the sidelines.

For me to be silent during these challenging times, especially when I have a platform like Seibertron.com to do good, would simply mean that I am also part of the problem and part of systemic racism. It is time to no longer sit on the sidelines and to no longer be quiet. It is time for us all to figure out solutions to fix these problems. I dont want to be part of white privilege, but will acknowledge that I am a beneficiary of it.

It is time to reach out and do what we can to help those of us who face an uphill battle through life. It is time to no longer be silent. I will continue to use Seibertron.com to help share messages I feel are important during these challenging times, especially as we get closer to this years extremely important election.

The line in the sand has been drawn for me. I know where i stand. I'm holding out my hands for those of you who need it. We are ALL in this together.

I almost never post, but I frequently check in to try to get the latest information for some of the upcoming releases. I was appalled by the politicization of this beloved franchise.

Black lives can matter as a premise while Black Lives Matter (the organization) are two dichotomous, and mutually exclusive, entities. Two things can be true at once. While everyone can agree that racism is bad, to use people of color to promote your own political priorities is a really disgusting practice.

What do I mean by this? Well, if you haven't taken the time to look into BLM, they are in fact,a left-wing terror organization. They advocate for everything that free thinking people should be against. They advocate for socialistic values, which is antithetical to being an individual. You are not entitled to an opinion, and they will destroy you if you offer and kind of resistance. They even include "Comrades" in their mission statement. Wherever they go, terror and chaos ensues and people get hurt. Black people get hurt. There has been no outrage and no call for injustice against BLM when they destroy black businesses, and kill black citizens. David Dorn is only the most recent example of this.

I'm not even going to get into the level of antisemitic behavior perpetrated on the Jewish communities by people of color or the level of black on black crime that is allowed to persist in the most "liberal" (and use the word liberal loosely, as liberal modernity is virtually non-liberal)cities in the country. Do you know when the last time someone right of center was elected in Minneapolis? It's been over 50 years. But there is no push to elevate other minority groups, and there is an actual attempt to thwart Jews and Asians (they're much too successful - even more so than whites). Ask Harvard.

We can all get behind taking steps to reign in police brutality. We can all agree that we need to do better to help non-white citizens to thrive. We can all agree what happened to George Floyd should never happen to a human being, but it does. And it happens to whites as well (Tony Timpa).

If your goal was promote black lives through slacktivism, congrats, I guess you succeeded. If your goal was to promote division in a community where we should be able to have common interests outside of political ideology, you REALLY succeeded.

But to use this franchise to promote slacktivism for left-wing extremism, is truly tragic and quite frankly a bit disgusting, even if it "your site". You say it's for everyone, but we know it's really not. I think it would behoove most people who value individuals to look elsewhere for transformers information.

For real! As having been a crappy gay guy in the past (one of those people who thinks Anode totally **** up MTMTE/Lost Light), I can see how easy it is to use yourself as a cover like that.

Just wanted to say thank you, Seibertron, for taking this stance. It has clearly already provoked conversation among the disparate viewpoints that our community has, which is only right and proper as our Black brothers and sisters (in Humanity) express their rage and anger at their appalling treatment by the systems rigged against them, and the appalling actions taken by the people those systems produce.

Please don't listen to those who claim that hobbies and their sites should be separate from "politics"; I've seen the same arguments used in Gaming circles since the Millennium and they are wrong there too. As you say these things affect all of us and especially on this particular topic we have long since past the point where we can hide behind collusive silence.

It's a brave thing to do what you have done, and should be applauded. Thank you again.

How many people on this site do you think are actual racists? I don't mean that they've been called racist on their twitter account or even by the people here, but actual honest-to-god white supremecists or just people who plain hate black people eclusively for the sake of being black? I'd like an answer to that and I'll explain why.

Racists are out there, there's no denying that. But outside of places like Amazon and Google and other companies that are so big that I don't think they really care about people anymore anyway, the racists are not joining our communities. Do you think that a bunch of racists are really spending that much time and money with Hasbro? I mean, if they're adults then they're probably not spending that much with them, and if they're actual racists do you think they're going to let their kids watch shows like My Little Pony that promotes friendship and tolerance among different kinds of horses, and later on entire different species? We have fundamentalist christian groups in the country that won't even let their kids watch saturday morning cartoons because they either promote the wrong morals or somehow glorify satan. The point I'm making here is that the racists, the real racists, aren't here.

So let me go back to my earlier question: How many racists do you think are actually on this site? I'm going to wager few to none. Why would they be here. As has been said before, Optimus Prime's motto is Freedom is the right of al Sentient Beings and 'Til all are one. Does that really sound like a sentiment that these people are going to want to get behind? So let me break down what's actually happening here.

We have a group. Black Lives Matter. Whatever your opinion of them, they are a divisive group. Whenever they get involved they polarize the enviroment, divide the community until we get this: Either agree with us or leave. I've been watching it for almost the last two weeks now. For what it's worth, Ryan is on board with them, most of the mods are on board with the sentiment. If you really people to leave, just have the mods come through this thread, find everyone that's not putting their support behind the organization, and just ban them all. I have a suspicion that by the time all this is done I'll be banned anyway, so I really have nothing to lose. You can purge your community. Everyone can purge their community. Amazon, Google, Hasbro, Microsoft, Sony, Seibertron.com.

So let me once more reference my earlier question: How many racists do you think are actually on this site? If you believe that everyone that disagreed is a fully fledged racist and ban them all, or just simply push them out by making this place so unfriendly and unwelcoming they don't want to stay, where do you think they'll go? "Back to their caves"? Even if that were true even in the vaguest metaphorical sense, that's not where they're going to go. Once you've driven them out of every community they were a part of they will find each other again, maybe on other sites, maybe on other boards. Do you know who will be waiting there for them? THe actual racists. The actual supremecists. The people with real hate that have already been driven out of most corners of society and they will WELCOME those people and once they have all those new people as part of their communities they can feed them nothing but the same rhetoric we're hearing from groups like BLM in the other direction. And that right there should give everyone here pause. Dissension has become opposition. Disagreement has become hate. The middleground has been scorched away and that is only exacerbating the tensions and hostilities. We need to stop that HERE before we can even think about fixing the larger problems. If we can't even tolerate on a website, how do you think we fix an entire city or country?

I'm not leaving voluntarily. I'll be here until someone bans me. I watched all of my other communties toxify themselves this way and tear themselves apart, ban anyone that didn't agree with their statement, turn people against each other, chase out anyone they didn't outright remove. I refuse to let that become this place too. It was Ryan's right to make the post and make his stand. It's my right to make mine as well until someone here decides to take that away by force.

There's a very simple answer to that, and it's a lot more than you think. If your answer to BLM is All lives matter, you're probably a little racist. There's overt super racist white supremacists who are probably do not number very highly in the number of users, but casual racists? People who hold racist views and don't think they're racist? Probably a lot. If you see Black Lives Matter, and it makes you angry or upset because how dare they try to value the lives of black people over others, you're probably a little racist and missing the point. However, a lot of casual racists are not inherently racist and are generally reasonable and can be pointed towards equality.

Now, I'm not really sure why you felt the need to ask how many people on here I think are actual racist on the site. I mean, did you take my post as a personal insult? Did it upset you that I think the people who seem to want to complain about companies and websites supporting BLM should put their money where their mouth is and stop using these services they're raging against?
