so there is said blue faced diaclone slag on ebay for some 900$

is this a fake?

there are also some funny colour (yellow chest) slags around are all these bootlegs?

Depends on the vendor. If he/she is know to sell KO/BL then that's a give away.

The 900$ however had an AUTOBOT BOX (not like 1 linked above) .. strange for a diaclone figure....

ATM there are couple voices for diaclone slag on ebay, some with box at some 200$
and then there are 50ish $ loose diaclone slags.

Also, it appears that this blu diaclone slag has also a similar Italian counterpart (by GiG) which is less rare. http://heroicdecepticon.blogspot.hk/201 ... faced.html

whats going on here?

Oh and... there are some bootleg dinobots around under the name 'Transformers Prehistory'. These also feature different colours.

There is a real blue Diaclone slag and there is also a KO of that figure and other Dicalone Dinobots. I don't know what the differences are except that the KO of the Diaclone Swoop with the blue chest looks better/more show accurate than its original Diaclone counterpart.

The Transformers Prehistory molds are retools of the Dinobots where their beast modes are quite different and they are very old KOs.

hey Rh, I don't think the link i posted is a legit item.
Reasons
1. the seller is italian
1a) I read somewhere there is this italian dude who sells fake g1 tfs and is known for fakes,(like changing boxe etc)
1b) there are a less rare diaclone dinobot production from italy (sold by GiG)which does not have the same value of the original diaclone dinobots.

I'm certainly not an xpert so I wouldn't know ofc.

having said this I'm not convinced about that auction and its not because of what the seller says in a makeronian english (im italian too btw) "what u see is what u get" but rather that the points I made above strangely coincide with the seller being Italian.

Honestly, I'm always careful when it comes to pre-TF stuff. From what I see, there's nothing in that auction to suspect it's a fake. Aside from one thing... Given it's age, I would expect the box to be looking worse then it does. So maybe there's something to that rumor about swapping boxes? I don't really know. If you really want to be sure, buy it only if you can pick it up yourself. It's a huge amount of money and for that amount, I'd like to inspect it personally inside and out before dropping the money. I own a pre-TF Browning (it's glorious) and got to inspect it carefully. Only then was I assured. If you are serious about it, see if you can arrange that for your purchase, because a toy like that, an original, is a true centerpiece for your collection.

Thx for the advice, I'm not yet dedicated to buying that item, but am in the process of deciding what would be my "centerpiece" and yes a blu slag and a "cnadian slag" might actually be what I want, but yes it is a lot of money and I would want to inspect the item personally. I'll supose i'll wait a couple months before buying but I want to keep an eye on the market for a bit before i do. I was almost considering buying a fake diaclone slag but seeing how they sell around 60-100$ it seems too much.

hey I found a great site. It appears that diaclone dinobots are particularly prone to being fake.
