Hi Will, welcome!!
Thanks!
I didn't specify the particular class or era because I'm always looking for the version that gets the closest to my ideal image of each character.
If I were to choose a current incarnation, though....!
Shockwave - I'd have to go with the MP or FansToys Quakewave; both are great for different reasons, but between them I'd go MP.
The MP is fine, its straight up g1 to the max though. if thats your thing then you cant go wrong. I went MP because I realized it would be around the same price as a G1 rerelease would go for if they ever found a way to do that. Plus you get modern engineering and articulation. Although Quakewave might be cheaper, so that could be a good route for you. There are many decent versions of that character out there. I would even say the DOTM and Prime version are great too even if they look less G1
Unicron - I'd settle for the Platinum re-release, but think I prefer either the Fewture EX Gokin PLUS Unicron Head or DAT LAMP. If there was eventually a Titan Class Unicron, that'd be ideal!
Haha, that lamp! You could also wait for Hasbro to make a new one, they will run out of giant characters to do.
Rodimus Prime - at this time, I'd go with DX9's Carry....unless HasTak wants to do a new MP. I could also be happy with MMC's Calidus!
Yeah that one's tough. What I did is simply have the MP hotrodimus as a classics rodimus since it scales perfectly for a season 3 team, especially with gen arcee, magnus, blurr and Kup. And technically, if you insert Prime's matrix into that MP toy, then fiction wise he becomes rodimus, right? right?
Cyclonus - I always wanted that Transformers Universe Deluxe version, or the G1 original. I also like the look of Xtransbots Eligos, but not that price tag.
That deluxe is a good toy, the newest triggerhappy takes a lot of cues from him. But might I suggest the Combiner Wars one? He looks really good and it is by far the best representation of the vehicle mode. He also scales well with TR Galvatron
Overlord - DAT G1 and MMC's Carnifex are tied for The One I want! But I may settle for the TR version simply due to price.
Same for me. Thats a toy I always wanted but I knew the G1 would be out of reach. TR will have to do. I aint closing those chest flaps though
Dezarus - G1 would be awesome, but I'm very curious what HasTak may have coming up!
Me too. The rumours have him as the leader for the final wave of Titans Return.
Scorponok - G1 original....but I'd love a Titan-class version!
I have the G1. Missing many accessories, but he has the head. Of all the G1 toys, its the one that holds up the best due to having lots of articulation waist up. The Titan should be fun too, and I cant wait for that base mode. Scorponok's base mode was one of the strongest of the G1 era.
Who's on your Most Wanted List?
bodrock wrote:I'm totally going with open-chested Overlord if I get the TR version! I wonder which TMs would look best...
Scorponok, Metroplex and Fort Max were once the ultimate TFs I missed out on....I have Dark Scorponok (not even close lol) and TR Fort Max (fun), but to have missed Metroplex again! ;_;
I'm totally with you on HasTak's recent releases - like TR Hot Rod! He was my first Hot Rod, believe it or not!
Wow, Battle Unicorn though - how rare was he? Definitely unique and cool-looking! I would love to see more beastformers, without a doubt.

bodrock wrote:Yeah, DAT SHOCKWAVE you got recently was wicked Sigma! Maybe he and Overlord could team up?
Yes, yes they are. And by it, you mean wallets?bodrock wrote:Oh wow, MMC is killin' it!!

I paid $10, and he was not even close to mint condition, Will. Under normal circumstances, I might've scoffed and kept walkin, but I wanted sumthin! I guess anything would've sufficed lol
He also had Action Masters (at about 20-25 a pop!), Pretenders ($65! But no Bludgeon or Octopunch, fortunately)....a mint condition G1Megatron for $400+ (!!), and other G1 bots. It made me wonder how much he paid for them originally....
I never see Pinbot pinball machines anymore. If I was to ever get a pinball machine, Pinbot would be the one. Never played bride of, paint me intriguedbodrock wrote:I was never good at pin ball.
My gaming forte was SHMUPs, side-scrollin' beat-em-ups, then all-things RPG from East to West. But then I saw PinBot back in 1986 and thought it was the best thing ever...until 1991 brought us the Bride of PinBot.
I'm going go with hard, cold and pointy (assuming TFs are cold). I think the "gender" differences in TF land start and end with pronouns. That got me thinking - all those times Arcee, Optimus, Hot Rod or any Transformer picked up a human, what did their hands feel like? Did it vary by the gender their spark identified with, or their alt mode?

65$ for a bludgeon or octopunch wouldnt be that bad. But yeah the rest of those prices are quite high. For G1 megs, you are beter off getting the reissues, they are easy to come by, and much cheaper.
