Not sure how to feel about this. A third repaint of the Prime figure in purple no less. Nothing really new except for the color.

I like the idea of the alternate universe, but these toys, especially for the price they'll be going for is a big pass.

Yeah, it's going to take some interesting designs on the other figures in this set to get my money this time around... The mold itself is about the only thing keeping my interest.

Although I do like the Classics Optimus mold, I had hoped they would of been more inventive with the colour scheme. I don't think it is a bad colour scheme per say, but it is more of an old worn out one as it seems that an kind of evil Prime seems to have a combination of colours like black, purple, and dark grey. I would like to see maybe a blue Prime, or something like that. I hope the other figures have more inventive paint schemes.

Well, I like the prime it's not great but it's cool(not wild about the random "battle damage"). I really want to see Goldbug, he will be the make or break for this set for me. If it's a re molded head on a Classics Bumblebee that would be awesome, if it's another cybertron mold I'll probably pass.

While I personally would never mess with a Con exclusive, I might find some non-intrusive, not-permanent way of covering the Autobot symbols with Decepticon symbols and displaying him in my collection as Motormaster. Maybe the evil Jazz would make another good Stunticon? Repaint a Classics Mirage into Drag Strip and your half-way to having a modern Stunticon team.

Evil purple prime = Motormaster
Evil white jazz = Breakdown
Evil gold goldbug = Dragstrip
Evil black rodimus = Wildrider

I'd say we're more then halfway through the stunticon team.

And the decepticons that are showing up?
Starscream - plane
Megatron - plane

We've still got 3 more exclusives to complete the set.

Only thing that doesn't fit is the evil Grimlock but I'm just going to go with everybody else and call it a baby trypticon!!!

What is going on with evil optimus prime are they pulling a star trek mirror mirror type story line.

That I think is precisely the issue. Skowl is right (just thought I'd say it too...): if this were Motormaster I for one would go ape. When I first saw the background image on Botcon.com I swore the set would be Stunticons. I like the Mirrorverse idea, I just want to see some more of the figures before I cast my judgment. I like this mold a lot, and the paint looks good to me, I just want to see a little more first.

A lot has been made of the "business decision" to release the seekers last year. People called it a horrible decision, etc.

But with Classics being a true collector and long time fan line, I really, really, really don't understand the decision of the Club/BotCon to got with a non-Classics set.

Seriously now, They didn't have to put up big huge names again, but there was ample opportunity to provide some more Classics love and draw those collectors happily back into BotCon.

Now we have what will very likely be, another 2k5 set. Nice for sure, but in all likelihood, will be setting around 2-3 years later, like the 2k5 set.

I'm excited to get any new toys, especially fancy-pants repaints.

I'm glad that the evil Optimus Prime is not a Nemesis Prime. I think the design is interesting.

I'm happily going to pay $285 for the Mini-Con in the set and pretend the other figures are free.

But overall, poor decision on the set theme.

Also, POOR decision on the part of the Club to change the club comic from Classics to Transtech. Talk about putting the 'R' in retarded...

Strangely enough this set has made me think of the 05 set as well. I love that set for Deathsaurus, but little else really sets that one apart in the way that the 07 Seekers are apart. For all the people that wanted the Botcon Ironhide from 05 there are sets available still from the Club. But I agree CP, this does seem like a let down after last years knockout, but I'm still holding back my judgment. If this is another 05 Botcon set, who will be the Ironhide of the bunch? You know, the figure everyone wants more than the others in the set?
