or am i making things up in the hope, its not animated crap?
i feel reli disappointed that its not the wreckers set, and even more saddened to the fact that they didn't take the opportunity to do a diaclone themed set with it being the 25th anniversary

I have repurposed my Armorhide into Huffer and have my music label Soundwave next to Shattered Glass Megatron... all I'm missing is Nightbeat! Is there anyone of us here that is willing to sell me thier customizing class Autobot Secret Police Nightbeat? I imagine the price will be steep considering it is indeed a custom figure. But I will do whatever I can to get him. Then my Shattered-verse set will be complete.
Given that unused sets from the 2006 and 2007 classes were available at the auction last year, I don't know for sure what the rules are anymore on the sale of these items. But it was (and likely still remains) that class tours cannot be formally sold. There are penalties.
My recommendation to you, PlasmaEnergyGod, is to buy a second club Nightbeat and do a repaint. It's not a terribly difficult alteration. (Or a cheaper approach is to use the Energon Hot Shot, which would require more paint apps and would have a variation of the head obviously). Or commission one from any number of people in the community. Good luck.

I think that a Diaclone set would be cool, but why if it's the 25th anniversary of the TF line, and not Diaclone which is a few years older? it would be interesting if they were to do that in a later year, maybe for the diaclone 30 or 35 year anniversary.
Once I ran an Anime festival with over 6,000 attendees. Now... not so much.

that'd be the BW Transmetal Cybershark mold then?
Bah, as usual, I can't wait to see these probably cool toys that I'll never own. Hope they're cool for all of you who attend!
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Also I suspect they're doing a party instead of a dinner this cause they got alot of complaints about last years "dinner/casino night/auction". That was total bull crap. The food was terrible, the gambling was boring, and then top it off you get wait 3 hours for the last prize to come up. The one that everyone wanted, BotCon '06 BW Megatron, only to have some ****' scalper walk off with it. All 'cause he bought 100 sets and therefore got a 100X casino money vouchers. It still pisses me off. Can you tell?
I swore off going to another BotCon, but I somehow got hopes up that this one would be special like the '07 BotCon. Boy was I wrong. Unfortunately the money is already spent so looks like I'm going, like it or not.
Why doing they just put everything out at once? Figure previews, brochure, registration, hotel info. Instead of forcing to shell out on hotel and air and everything before you see what you're getting. It's like if you hired a prostitute and had to pay up front. Then she shows you the goods and she's got a dick. Lose your money or loose your dignity. Either way your getting **** in the ass.

The logo for the elite guard was also used by the Cybertron Defense in the Transformers Cybertron series.

Incorrect. The Convention is using a slightly modified EG brand.
as shown here http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Badge
CDT: one chevron, point below autobrand.
EG: three chevrons, point hidden behind autobrand.

I did actually. Is this to be a permanent change? I think it could be kind of cool, if done right, but it certainly isn't a little expense for people.
I also noticed they claim to have 200+ tables for the dealer room, which is interesting given that none have been booked yet officially. Given the recession and the new legislation pertaining to toys, that's not a claim I'd have made right off the bat...

On Snowcat: I really think he'd make a better Thunderclash. His back section with the rockets closely matches Thunderclash's Trailer. That said, SnowKupp is really cool.
I suspect that I'll get the non-attending. Pasadena is just a tad far and on the last week of school.

I had the same feeling. Looking at the brochure automatically had me thinking of all the logistics I had to do in order to get me and my 2 friends there last year. Good times.
Hopefully Botcon '09 will be on the east side of the Rockies.

This is why I like the fan run conventions, it is for the fans. This party should be for anyone, whether they purchase a package or not.
RANT: This convention is for Funpub to sell their toys and get you to join their club that is the bottom line. If you purchase their toys, you shall be rewarded, WTF, I am sorry to say but that is just really a huge turn off to this con. While it is nice to have an offer of being able to purchase a toy, it should not be a requirement. If Funpub was worried about selling enough toys than all they have to do is get out a pre-order a year in advance, there are plenty of people who buy sight unseen (I am not one of them).
There wasn't anything in the brocure that would make me want to go this year. For me it is the panels and guests to be able to talk to that I find interesting. And there was zero information on that. There was nothing that said what the 25th anniversary of Transformers has to do with the con either, I mean like "we have gotten a variety of speakers, artists, writers from all era's of the cartoons, comics and movies. Nothing at all.
Anything to do with Hollywood or movies is just underwhelming my interest.

Cyb Prime for Kup
Voyager Prime (new head) for Thunderclash
Swindle for Landshark
Activator Magnus for Flakk
Voyager Megatron (new head) for Scourge
There aren't usually 2 toys in the set as big as a voyager so I think hoping for 2 voyagers and 3 deluxes is a little optimistic. The attendee figure should be the same mould as one of the deluxes from the main set, Cyb Prime or Swindle from my picks. If Megatron is used for Scourge then we'd almost have to see a 2 pack of Sweeps (hopefully with retooled heads) from the Cyb deluxe Megatron as one of the 'on the day' exclusives.
