I personally don't have any movie Prime's as I never liked his look in the movies (though I am probably eventually going to get a RotF Prime just because he is pretty huge and awesome ).
To tell you the truth, if you don't have a Unicron (and obviously need it for your stop motion) and don't have a Rodimus/Hot Rod, then those are the two I'd go for as they're likely to increase in price more and be much harder to find than the prime will be (they're much more collector-oriented). With the Takara jet Prime you'll have to get it online of course if you're anywhere except Japan, which increases the price some, though how much depends on where you buy it (BBTS is one of my fav stores, but if you compare their prices to some others, they are marked up pretty heavy). You should be able to swing Unicron+Hot Rod for $120 or less as long as you can find good deals but it really comes down to which figures you want the most and how much time you have (i.e., how long it takes to save the money+the date of their initial availability).

I can weather it myself with a bit of brushwork and/or blackwash so I'm not too worried about that (and that's only if it looks absolutely terrible in person). I probably will paint the hand though. I never did like the glowy hand gimmick on Takara's either.
As for pricing, I think they're pushing Unicron at around $60 (think I read that in the announcement, though I could be wrong) and Rodimus Hot Rod should be around $50 so they both should be quite affordable (at least compared to Takara's).

I bought 2010 unicron for $135 SGD (that's 110 USD) im betting alot that unicro would be $169.90 Cos that's the price of ultimate class... as well as DOTM UOP, yes apparently my toys R us has it on display but not on slale.

Unicron is Supreme, a Class below Ultimate. The price may be bumped up a bit from the previous set price of $50, so expect the $60 to $70 range.
