I don't get the connection betweeen the Star Seeker Navigator and the Autobot Navigator, either, apart from their shared name. :???:
The pattern I was seeing was this:

Ferak and Tornado commemorate the Marvel US and UK comics by being among the first comic-original TF characters created in both the US and UK comics.

Devcon commemorates the Sunbow cartoon by being among the first cartoon-original TF characters created by the cartoon.

Scorponok commemorates the G1 toyline by utilizing one of its more memorable toy gimmicks.

Ginrai commemorates the first Japanese-original TF cartoon that didn't directly build upon the American fiction, and was the first Japanese-original Autobot Supreme Commander who was a completely unique entity from his Hasbro toy counterpart.

The only oddball here is Cannonball, who seems to only serve as a means to rationalize some semblance of sense into the convention theme.

As for the Navigator thing, that's JelZe's department, cuz I frankly don't see how the Jet Vehicon works for the G1 Navigator.

Maybe Cannonball serves to represent the Unicron Trilogy? I dunno.

I also have this weird idea about the army builder set: maybe Cannonball, if he's a vain, narcissistic prick, makes clones of himself? Because I'm pretty sure that the crew of a single vessel (unless said vessel is the size of Unicron and crewed by millions) is incapable of invading a planet, especially one that has been at total, civil war on a galactic scale for millions of years.

Cannonball's crew doesn't invade and conquer planets. They raid them for their booty in various heists.

Plus, Cybertron might still be in its peaceful New Golden Age that it was restored to in The Rebirth. So if it's in a state of peace, then it's vulnerable and ripe for the looting. ;)

...which is pretty much invading. Heists on a smaller scale (i.e a small town) I can believe.

But... "Termination"...

No, wait, wasn't it previously established that this story is set before "Termination"? I've been out of it for the past few days, I need large amounts of coffee that I don't have. :-(

You do know what pirates do, right?

They aren't interested in invasions, they just want goods and loot. They're thieves who steal things.

It's after. 30 years after the G1 cartoon, even. It'll be the concluding story to the Wings Universe, finishing it off for good.

I'm not expecting Star Saber anymore since the superior Masterpiece is upcoming, and will probably cost as much as a BotCon Primus Package. So the Club probably figures that folks who want a Star Saber and are willing to casually spend the amount of money that a Primus Package costs will go for the MP.

I would think Twincast and Flip Sides from Generations Blaster and Eject/Rewind would be an easy figure to toss in. He's sort of obscure.

I also would love to see a Roadgrabber from Generations Sideswipe like this custom.

Since the box set seems to consist of four figures that aren't very pirate-y or knight-y and one pure pirate figure, I wonder if one of the souvenirs will consist of a pure knight figure.

I dunno... if what appears to be the Knight leader isn't knight-ish, I don't think the remainder of the faction would be knightly.

However... what we could probably do is, if your theory of a certain pattern is correct, then we could guess what the two-pack and army builder sets are based on what part of the franchise they could be celebrating. So, let the brainstorming begin.

Well, maybe a pure-knight guy wouldn't have to be the leader, but more like an advisor or mentor. Or a founder. Or even a king. Someone who convinced or inspired Ginrai to form and lead this knight unit.

Question is, what character is there who is known for his being a knight like how Cannonball is known for being a pirate? :-?

Okay... I see where you're coming from. Part of the knights, but not necessarily sharing the physical attributes that one would make when tasked with describing a knight.

Hmmm... Beast Wars Silverbolt is the only one I can really think of that would perfectly describe a knight.

Found a category for everyone known to be a knight, but none of them seem to stand out that much to me for their knighthood like Cannonball does for his being a pirate.

But what about Rom the mutha flippin' Space Knight? I'd say he'd be a viable option.

He's an external property, like Batman, Richard Branson, Elton John, and Steven Spielberg. And hasn't made an official appearance in TF fiction yet to be a known part of the lore.

At this point, the thing that comes to mind the most right now for a guy who looks like a full knight would be some sort of use of the Generations FOC Grimlock mold.

But didn't Hasbro acquire the trademark of Rom? Doesn't that, by extension, give FunPub the right to use it?

Ehhhh... as good an idea as that sounds (and it is a good idea), personally, I'd like to wait off that mold for a couple more years or so. It's just... I've got a variation of Bumblebeeitis. It's called Grimlockitis. I contract it when characters become over-zealously distributed and advertised by Hasbro.

Looking over BotCon's Twitter, we can guess what at least one of the souvenir sets will have:
Swords will be available in souvenir packs

And this Tweet suggests that the souvenirs could celebrate BotCon itself:
And don't forget, this year is BotCon's 20th anniversary #Souvies

So either characters who've been represented in previous BotCon stories before whose features includes swords, or previous BotCon characters who come with totally new-mold, original, never before-released swords?

One pack could possibly even just be a set of sword accessories on their own, like how OTFCC 2004 had Energon Spear weapon exclusives.

Okay... I see where you're coming from. Part of the knights, but not necessarily sharing the physical attributes that one would make when tasked with describing a knight.

Question is, what character is there who is known for his being a knight like how Cannonball is known for being a pirate? :-?

THIS! He totally should've been the fifth figure.

And I think you're right. I think Hasbro does have some kind of claim on him.

It's not that I don't think Fun Pub could use ROM. It's that he hasn't been used in any preexisting TF fiction to be an established part of the lore like Cannonball is. Regardless of his being a knight, his inclusion here would make as much sense as King Arthur, as I was asking about TF characters who are already established as knights in the existing TF mythos, not new guys who are known as being knights in external media outside of Transformers.

One pack could possibly even just be a set of sword accessories on their own, like how OTFCC 2004 had Energon Spear weapon exclusives.

True, true. But the question remains: will they be re-releases of previously-used swords (i.e one or both types of swords included with Generations Drift, or reproductions of Ratchet's/Cannonball's butterknives swords), or will they create their own original molds?
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Well, since they were willing to dig Scorponok's mold out of the attic, maybe they pulled out Cruellock's sword mold as well. ;)

Oh, yeah, those'll work too. Especially for the Pirates, since it can separate into both a little firearm and a sword (but I imagine it'll be difficult getting figures with thicker/open hands to wield it properly.
