April 1984 was when G.I. Joe #22 was released, the first appearance of Duke in the Marvel comics universe.
Who do you want to bet the Silas sculpted into the Cylas Breakdown mold's chest is going to be?

The numbers don't match up to anything Cryotek-related. They seem to be the release date of DOTM and then something related to 1984.shajaki wrote:Forgive my noob-like speculation, but couldn't the "Boss" be Cryotech using the Springer/Sandstorm mold?
Then it must be a giant bust of Animated Shockwave or something since that isn't a zoomed in close up of the mystery figure. Check out how big it is in comparison to the others:Emerje wrote:Isn't the mystery one at the end Animated Shockwave in Longarm mode with the "ears" painted black around his chin? Maybe they're making an Astro Magnum figure? Or maybe that one really is Oilmaster since he has two bot and alt modes.
(The Longarm image is flipped so the screw holes wouldn't be on this side of his head. Also pretty sure the top of the fuzzy cropped image is from the background, not part of the head.)

Not sure what you mean. In Shockwave mode with the ears down he stands much taller than Springer and his head is almost twice as big. Problem is I'm trying to get the two standing next to each other like in the picture with Shockwave's shoulders down and I can't get them as close as in the picture. It's not hard to believe they came up with two unique bot modes for this figure when he's standing next to a Springer figure with exposed wheels. The ears are a little different, too, but the overall shape and size of the head is right. I was also thinking Animated Wreck-gar, but it would be hard to hide the big compactor on his back without dropping it to his feet.

I'm talking about the relative size of Animated Shockwave's head, horns down or otherwise.Emerje wrote:Not sure what you mean.
In this pic you posted, you showed what you're perceiving to be the head of the Animated Shockwave mold:
What I'm trying to say is that the size of whatever that thing is is too big to be the head of Animated Shockwave since that thing is roughly 1/2 as big as the blue Legends Swerve figure seen in the same image. Or for a different comparison, it looks to also be two or two and half times as big as the head of the Springer mold right next to it.

It can't be Animated Shockwave's head because his head is not that big. For his head to be as big the thing seen in the fuzzy pic, it would have to be as big as something like the head of Cybertron Surpreme Starscream or Cybertron Primus

A G.I. Joe reference? Quite possible, we have Marissa Faireborn coming up, so crossovers aren't unlikely. We've had them with Gobots (with 2007 Bug Bite).

I still say the top portion of what that image says is the head is part of the background and not actually part of the head. If you look closely you can see a distinct change in color separating the two about where the white part stops going up. Remove that and the size is right and matches perfectly with the size of Springer's head (I've got Springer, Swerve, and Shockwave in front of me on my desk right now). Shockwave has a huge head, it's actually just a little less than 1/3 the size of Swerve. In that picture Springer's head is pretty big compared to Swerve, but in reality his head isn't that big.
Of course it's also entirely possible that it's a new head and I'm way off the mark, I have no problem admitting that. As it stands we've got a box set of five characters and an image with at least six characters in it (eight if you count the Targetmaster and Micromaster). Not really seeing anything more impressive than Scorponok yet
I wonder if I can recreate the image, the only mold I don't have is a Breakdown, but he doesn't need to be in the shot so I should be able to pull it off.

As far-fetched as that idea might be, recall last year's crazy awesome Headmaster Scorponok figure, and how a while back the Club said/suggested/hinted that they're trying to make something even better than the level of greatness that Scorponok was. So, who knows what the Club will do this year.

I'm hoping it's Blast Punch Primal as Oilmaster. All they need is a Spartan-ish robot head, slight remolding of the shoulder pads, and a remolding of the upper part of the gorilla head to look like the helmet.

This one comes from an interview with Pete Sinclair that was done in the latest episode of Transformers For Your Listening Pleasure.
Fortunately, the folks over at The Allspark were kind enough to give a rundown of the interview's most important points of interest, complete with a couple of images:
Pete Sinclair of Fun Publications joined Transformers For Your Listening Pleasure this evening to discuss the history of Botcon, convention etiquette, and what to expect from Botcon 2015. Of course, there's also a reveal of a toy for the upcoming Botcon 2015 set of convention exclusives. Read on for the details.
Pete began his portion of the interview by discussing the Fun Publication's desire to have a specific theme for the set following positive fan reaction to the Stunticon set, rather than individual toys who just happen to share a box. Cybertron's Most Wanted began with the concept of some traditionally evil or untrustworthy characters banding together to save Cybertron, Ocean's Eleven style. The dual theme is that these toys are indeed some of the most wanted by fans. Pete promised the toys will look great together as a team on fan shelves.
In discussing the recently revealed Packrat, Pete went on to mention that Fun Publications has looked into several proposals for a Fractyl release, but the timing and pitch has never been quite right.
He went on to discuss the details of how they were able to finally sign Frank Welker up for a Botcon appearance. Apparently, these efforts go as far back as 1997, which would have featured both Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, were it not for some schedule conflicts that eventually prevented both from attending. He went on to details all of the exclusive items that fans will be given as part of the VIP package for the experience with Frank and how Fun Publications normally pays celebrity appearance fees so that fans receive photo opportunities and autographs at no additional charge beyond their Primus package, but that the contract with Frank had to be scheduled differently. This, presumably, would indicate that Frank's fee runs significantly higher than average.
It was also announced that Sue Blu will be attending. Get your Generations Arcee autographed! Pete also confirmed that while Primus package numbers will stay the same this year, the numbers for the souvenir items will be decreased. Similarly, there will be no extras for the first two figures of TFSS 3.0 for sale on the Club site.
Revealed were an unreleased Waspinator Repaint from the RotF Dirge mold (no plans for the future, though Pete did mention this one was designed and painted by the Allspark's own Jesse Wittenrich) and a repaint of the Chopshop Targetmaster for an as-yet unrevealed at-convention figure. Pete mentioned that his partner won't be the same as the original Legends figure that he came with.
So, yeah, a blue redeco of Generations Legends Chop Shop. Though it isn't part of the boxed set, so could be part of a souvenir set.
And Sue Blu is a guest too.

Transformers BotCon 2015 : Pete Sinclair Interview
Posted by shajaki Sat Apr 04, 2015 3:12 pm
As for the toys, Pete gave us a sneak peak at one of this years Attendee Exclusives which is a yet un-named blue version of Generations Chop Shop. He also shows off an unreleased Prototype of Waspinator using Revenge of the Fallens Dirge, and explains why Fractyl won't be paired their new iteration of Packrat (like they originally were). Take a look below for the embedded video interview, and a little further down are some stills of the figures in question!
