This isn't the "top Scorponok" figure. The next one is.

If it's this Oil character, I will literally be put to sleep... the only way to top Scorponok is to repaint that mold into a slavish BW Scorponok with a new head.

I'm gonna start off with saying that I am very picky about my Megatrons and will pass on this. But I love everything this figure is trying to do. The colors look good (Scalpel needs detail. Oh, and I DID IT BEFORE YOU PETE!!!) Using Heavyweight as the G1 mace is clever and unexpected. Although I woulda gone Purple not Pink. and having his fusion cannon included is good to see as well. And I like the head.

It's just not Megatron.

Well, it they use an old Beast Wars/Machines mold I will retract my statement ;) G1 just does nothing for me, especially when I was hoping this set would be Beast Wars: Uprising and TransTech I-) I-) I-)

Since he's mentioned in Megatron's bio, I wonder if we might get the counterpart Rodimus Prime of this Megatron as a souvenir figure to go with him.

I dunno what they can put in that little purple egg that would top scorponok or even devcon.

I just realized, this isn't the first Megatron toy that's both heavily DOTM-based while incorporating some G1-based aspects. We got another one first:

While true, I would say the Kre-O set is different in that it is recognizably Megatron through the color scheme rather than the helmet cues. I would like this figure a whole lot better as Megatron if it had a more G1-esque deco... as it is, it's not quite there.

As far as I'm concerned, we're 2 and 2 on this set so far. I'm down for Packrat and Battletrap, but SG Stepper/(Ricochet?) is of no interest to me (as no Shattered Glass figures are, except for the dual purpose SG Thundercracker in his G1 Action Master deco and SG Tracks as G1 Road Rage). This Megatron is neat, but not a must have. I wouldn't know where to really put it on any of my shelves. It's just kind of a one-off curiosity. It's coming down to the last reveal to decide if I will invest in the whole set or cherry pick from eBay afterwards.

If they do Rodimus Prime, Guessing it will be a Souvenir add on botcon 2015 toy. Just don't see any bigger toys released from a few years ago. That would fit the Rodimus Prime character.

Though they couldn't do it this year, it would be cool if they were to use the Combiner Wars Hot Spot mold to finally give us some toy version of New Rodimus:

Other than being a toy the USA never got. Don't see anything special about that Voyager Breakdown toy. Thought it was booring and reaked Armada Redalert.

Why would anyone want to buy the botcon version. When the 2011 DOTM toy looks more like the movie character. and is probably still $25 on ebay.

I see a lot of opinions that don't gel with mine. Anyone want to go in on an Iacon package? I only want Megatron and Stepper, while Packrat and Battletrap seem to be bigger fan favorites to the majority.

I use the 2007 Movie Crankcase as my Classics Crankcase, since that was what he meant for before marketing decided to shunt him into movie packaging.

And like a lot of people, I'm thinking that last egg contains just a smaller piece or hint to a larger toy.

I forgot about all the other redecos that appeared in that comic A Common Foe, the one with the Nightracer Redeco:
Rotorstorm from Generations Fall of Cybertron Vortex.
Turbofire from Generations Thrilling 30 Trailcutter.
Eagle Eye from Generations Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream.
Blue Bacchus from Transformers Tomahawk.
Nightracer from Generations Thrilling 30 Tailgate.

I imagine we'll see a few of these in the exclusive packs.

Given some thought, maybe that mace thing couldn't structurally hold up to being that brittle clear plastic? Hmmmm.

AND I have to say, the thing the club IS doing this year is giving us some grown-up looking colors, for the most part. If they're not homaging G2, I do really like to see some more mature color schemes. (The main line is usually so Bee heavy and kid-targeted, we have plenty bright colors on the shelf... especially in red and yellow.)

I wonder if Hasbro pushes them away from colors in their contract, so they don't compete with the bots on the shelf at all... Hmmm. >:oP
