This is the kind of thing I think should come out of Botcon; Obscure characters, references or homages!
I like it!

Custom class figure - Galva Convoy
Attendee freebie - Zaptrap w/ Beet-Chit (Diaclone redeco of Skrapnel w/ blue redeco of Chop Shop)
Souvenir 2-pack - General Optimus Prime and Sgt. Hound
Souvenir 2-pack - Diaclone black Skids and red Hoist
Souvenir 4-pack - the four Waspinators.
So, two figures based on unreleased G2 figures, one based on a Lucky Draw figure, four based on Diaclone figures (five if you count Beet-Chit separately), one based on a late Beast Wars redeco (which doubles as a SG figure), one based on an unreleased Universe (2003) figure, and one whose deco inspiration is still unknown.

Four others of these figures are all Diaclone homages.Mkall wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The red Waspinator is based on Diaclone Warudaros.
Was that ever confirmed by an official source? That strikes me as a very far-fetched theory otherwise. Far easier to believe it's homaging the red/gold TM2 Waspinator.
