Well, just about every thread I post in, anyway. There's probably some correlation there, but I just can't seem to figure it out...

"If they do anymore, I call Sunstorm as the next one!"

If there's a Botcon Classics Sunstorm you can expect to read reports of a long haired Scotsman going postal at the front desk, to indistinct cries of 'where's my Impactor dammit?' in between animalistic growling noises ;;)

This... he's not bad. The plane mode looks rather chibified, but the robot mode's pretty good.

How many people from here are going, anyway? I see so many anguished howls about not being able to afford/refusing to pay the full whack for the set- attendees can order a second set for the steep-but-not-so-insane price of $180. I've ordered two sets and have already agreed to pass them all on to those more enthusiastic for convention exclusives, but surely we can rustle up a few more kind-hearted attendees willing to help a forum-buddy out?

Sadly, I am not going, as we're going on vacation the week before. And with gas prices looking to be close to $3.50 per, I'm afraid that the distance from Bama to Rhode Island is too expensive to cross.

But of all years, I think this is the year to go. Have fun everybody.

I love how everyone is reacting to this.

Damn you Hasbro for making a toy everybody wants!

Yeah, it's a convention exclusive, so? Hasbro could have just as easily never made them at all.

I thought it was general consensus guess that Bumblebee will be recolored to Bugbite? Although I must admit that the Bumblebee mold does not fit into a Decepticon airforce theme. I would venture to predict the next preview pic to be Dreadwing. Jetfire mold anyone?

It's a repaint of a seeker mold.

Yeah, like we've never seen that before...

What's next? An Optimus Prime toy?

I know. I get tired of complaints about "I can't go so I can't get these" type of statements when there is a non-attendee package available. That's what I paid for so that I could complete my Classic seekers.

I think some people are just that pissed off about the whole thing that they just want to make sure their point is never forgotten. Although it does get old to hear it again and again and again and again etc..

Sadly I'm at that age where 80% of my friends have kids, and not a single one of them has bought more then two of the Turtles for their kids. When I was kid I got exactly on Turtle bought for me by my parents. And when I go lurking in the toy aisles I hear this conversation quite often.

Kid: I want that one Mommy.
Mom: You already have that one.
Kid: Nu uh, I have the other one, this one is a different character.
Mom: Well it looks the same to me and you have enough toys.

Which about when I usually walk away since I know the screaming is about to start.

That's true, I've overheard several similar conversations between kids and parents (as well as just between the parents) as well.

Actually, they've already repainted Prime as Ultra Magnus for the target-exclusive two-pack.

And as far as this It's a repaint of a seeker mold stuff is concerned, it's actually another remold for Starscream. Still has the Ramjet head from that mold, but the wings have been redone again in Thrust's style.

I'm still pissed that this is a botcon-exclusive, but the reason why is that (even if it is just a retool of Starscream) this is too good a figure not to release at least as a target or wal-mart exclusive.

"Parents will and do pay for repaints all the time from other toy lines, I don't see why Transformers is the exception. The Ninja Turtles are an excellent example of parents buying the same toy 4 times."

Two factors I think you're overlooking here:

1) Turtles are £6.99, Classic deluxes are £9.99.
2) The four Turtles are THE main characters in both a popular cartoon series that's still on telly and a recently released and fairly popular motion picture.

The extra strike planes, however, are random characters that very few parents remember and fewer still can tell apart. They have no series currently airing and barring some major secret rendering over at ILM I don't think they're in the movie. The only reason for kids to buy Classics is 'these are good toys', and for the most part they are. However, since the characters are effectively unknown there's no reason for them to want the same toy in different colours. There's a reason why Ramjet and Cliffjumper are sitting and Ultra Magnus and Skywarp had to be marked down after a month. In fact, I think that particular 2-pack making its UK debut at half price.

This has been your thread derailment for the evening. I thankyew.
