they keep on rehashing the same characters and stories.
shattered glass is the same thing just OH NO THE AUTOBOTS ARE EVIL.
i want a new tf series with new characters and yes i mean NO MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME, AND SO ON.
even new faction names would be nice too
seriously i wonder if someone at hasbro/ takara has brought up the idea of just a new start on transformers
So you don't want Transformers it sounds like. Energon was given that 'new take' moniker. Scorponok started as leader and Megatron was dead.
Problem is, they want to sell products that are recognizable, so that they get kids and adults to buy these things for kids.
Beast Wars is pretty different. It's not Prime and Megatron... well not technically.
lol what do you mean i dont want transformers. "Transformers" is just a title which can be given to anything as long as it has something turning into something else.
just like how every gundam series is called gundam but the characters dont get reused or anything? like how gundam wing has different characters then earlier gundam shows
I get what you're saying and most collectors would be cool with it, but HASBRO is not willing to lose their flagship characters and replace with questionable unknowns. See Transformers, Star Wars, and G.I.Joe.
Every toy line includes new toys and characters, but also rehashes notable 'big guns', ie- Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, to name a few.
You will notice that G1 Transformers in the US got canned once Headmasters came about right? No Optimus, no Megatron, and they canceled the season.
They balked on picking up and even allowing release of the Japanese g1 series Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory-- and they are also lacking in the flagship known characters.
And 'Transformers' is copyrighted to HASBRO and they won't call just anything Transformers, well, they do call those stupid crossovers Transformers, but in their minds the toys are TFs, so anyway.
Your opinion is awesome, it just seems that HASBRO feels like they've tried and failed your way, or at least considered it, and balked.
