The original ‘07 concept Camaro Bee was my first ever Bumblebee, my first movie figure, and one of my first Transformers in general. I lost his plasma cannon and the shoulder pieces after not too long, but he’s still a good figure! SS-49 is definitely a worthy successor ;)^

I just realized my first figures from the 07 movie were Bumblebee, Blackout, and Starscream. Those were actually the first 3 studio series figures I got! I’ll have to get a picture of them all together next time I have a chance.

I feel the exact same way! The only difference between our Bee experiences are my Bee was #2 and I still have all his pieces. But I wholly agree that the new SS one is worthy of his predecessor

Took some time today to pair up my MPM4 and MPM8 for some combat, and they look great together! Some siege battle effects sell the action too.

I am hoping so hard we hear more about the next MPMs at Toy fair next month. Jazz is sitting in my Tfsource stack, and we need Ratchet to finish the original 5. I wouldn't even mind 1 bot and 1 con per year, give us Ratchet and Starscream this year, and then work out way through Blackout, Bonecrusher, and Brawl along with Sideswipe, and any 2 others, maybe Jolt and a Twins 2-pack?

Either way, I want more movie guys in this scale. We have a good start, we need to keep going

MPM Prime is great as a robot, unbeatable really. He's not a good transformer though, his transformation is super hard and I can't get the truck mode done right. But he's still a fantastic robot, which really does it for me

Took my Silver Knight Prime to work today, and gosh this thing is lovely. this is my first experience with this mold too, and it is a lot nicer than I have heard. And the paint work is sublime. This is gorgeous. We need more Primes like this.

And this brings me to a point that i really enjoy about movie Primes: we have gotten some great repaints. the Nightwatch repaints, the Nemesis (of all types), the Silver Knight, Fireburst, Defender, etc. There have been some truly beautiful movie Primes

A tad late to the party but definitely love this forum. So cool to see photos of everyone’s collection. Really neat to see those characters that were alittle less talked about and of course not in any movie. The Studio series line has definitely bridged that gap from what was originally released to something more detailed and enjoyable. While the initial lines from the 2007 movie and ROTF were not bad but as the movies came and went it seemed the toys got worse. I think mainly with that, we saw that with the AOE line. Most of the Autobots from that movie, I have left in vehicle mode because the robot modes were lacking. With the Studio Series line, we have been given something a lot better that represents a more detailed look or more movie accurate robot and vehicle mode.
Even though the toys from the later movies suffered, I still collected them. I do not have a good clear photo of what I have. So if you can imagine with the one photo of the book shelves, the top two shelves across all three, are the first 3 movies. With Autobots on one shelf and then Decepticons on the second shelf.

The two other photos (different angles) are what I have at for the “The Last Knight” movie line. Ironically, in those photos, the top shelf is what I had at the time from the Studio Series line with me in Virginia.

I don’t have any photos with me of my AOE line.

Definitely hard to tell, but i do have the first version of the large Bumblebee on the very top of the book case. I remember when I found him in a German toy store, where I was stationed. He is so cool.

Strangely enough, while I was stationed in Germany, I think is was before ROTF came out, I was buying unreleased characters from a seller in Japan. So for at least 8 of them, I never had instructions or a box. It was just cool to have them prior to them being available in the stores. Two particularly, OP and LongHaul, they are even stamped “do not sell”. Again a fun time collecting these regardless of the movie itself. ROTF is one of my favorites but the collecting part makes it fun.

Hopefully and I say hopefully within 6 months I can share better photos on here. As I have mentioned in the “collections forum”, I am retiring from the Army and will be back home here in about 30 days or so. My “to do list” is getting that room set up. With the addition of the SS line, will be fun fitting those into what I have already.
Who knows, some of those could be getting replaced or just keep them.

I'm hoping once I move that my movie collection can look more like your last image there, and actually all be together next to each other on shelves

Got the other cheap Ebay auction in the mail: Defender Optimus Prime!

My sister had and still has this mold, but this is my first time actually owning it. I do enjoy it even if it isn't very accurate. I also have enjoyed getting all these movie Primes with different strange decos.

And on a personal collectors note, with this mold, there are now only 3 movie Prime molds deluxe sized or larger that I do not own. And it has become a goal to finish grabbing all of the movie Prime molds, preferably in many decos for the fun of the Prime Rainbow. He is my favorite Prime and he deserves it.

Maybe at some point I will go for the legends sized ones too, but at a later date.

MPM Optimus vs. Megatron looks amazing. Honestly, the only flaw is Optimus' swords being transparent. Transparent plastic is good for made-of-energy weapons... weapons that are energized metal, not so much. But that's a flaw with HasTak's deco choices, not your photography or the figures as a whole.

But Ratchet's not the only one missing from the original 5 Autobots in the MPM lineup - we're also missing a proper MPM Ironhide.

Well, I don't know. The 2007 line definitely has a case of "First try syndrome" on several figures, but ROTF and HFTD were massive improvements overall thanks to the designers having had time to master the aesthetic. Megatron not withstanding, thanks to being victimized twice in a row by the requirement for Leader-class figures to have electronics.

I agree with you about Age of Extinction being the low point, though. The toymaker-unfriendly designs of everybody but evasion-mode Optimus and Bumblebee, and the Dinobots, didn't exactly help matters.

I would say that Studio Series isn't exactly a bridge. Rather, it averages out to being a return to the Dark of the Moon-era quality. Jetfire has a somewhat tidier robot mode, but loses the articulated hands and still suffers from being shoehorned into combining with Optimus. The Constructicons also suffer a bit from their combining gimmick, most notably Long Haul.

Thinking about the Studio Series line, it has brought so much to the movie figures in scale and a better representation than what we got from the early releases through the lines. Don’t get me wrong, I love some of the earlier releases but it seemed as the movies came out, the figures suffered.

With that, everyone displays their transformers differently, whether it is by year, figure or line. So I was wanting to throw out 3 questions to see what you thought or how you display your Studio Series amongst the early movie releases.

Do you replace the older movie figure with the more accurate looking Studio Series figure?

Do you mix in the appropriate Studio Series movie figure with the associated original movie?

Or, just display the Studio Series line on a shelf and call it a day?

I know there are a host of other ways to display them. I only ask this as I am going through and putting together my thought process and plans for when I set up my collection.

Either way,I am looking forward to getting them all set up with their appropriate movie.

Currently, my movie cons from all lines are just mixed in, while my Movie 1/2 bots are on a shelf while the 3-6/SS are all together on another shelf. I don't do only 1 version of the characters as well, I display all the ones i currently own.

Not sure how they will be displayed once I move though, that will be a wait and see thing

Out of the Studio Series, I only have Blackout and Rampage, and Rampage was a gift. A lot of Studio Series just hasn't done it for me, honestly (although I do want the Arcee trio and Scavenger, among a few others). I like the scale of a lot of the earlier toys better, especially with the likes of ROTF Leader Optimus Prime around. And some of the Studio Series suffers from simplification or combination gimmicks.

But I will stand Blackout with older movie figures. He might not be truly in scale with the likes of 2007 Leader-class Brawl... but he still scales with them better than the 2007 figure did because that one was only a Voyager. And SS Blackout is more accurate, too.
I'd probably put SS Chunk of the Moon Megs in with them as well if I had him, because much like Blackout he's less dwarfed than the Voyager original (stupid Leader-class Bumblebee grrr).

Mind you, in my case I'm talking play rather than display because much of my collection is put away in bins when not in use, rather than on display, because of space constraints.

Di Bonaventura is not a credible or trustworthy source. And most fans do like the diversity push, thanks.

A question, has anyone purchased the 3rd party Transcraft Mahican (aka Mohawk) from TLK! Or thought about it?

It looks to be a good representation of Mohawk, since we didn’t get anything from Hasbro. We know why!

Would be cool if someone did Dreadbot as well.

I've put some thought into it, but I didn't like him enough to drop that much dough on him. I also have a hard time buying 3P guys anyway, so that sways my decision some too.

I have been appreciating this figure though. The original 2007 voyager mold in his RotF Defender colors. I'm starting to think that instead of Nemesis Prime repaints, we need more Nightwatch/Defender repaints, I love those colors schemes

Also, LIGHT PIPING

I will say this D-Max, the more i see stuff like this, i cannot wait to dig through my totes when i get home. Biggest part, we are putting in a new floor, so once that is in and while I am waiting on shelving, I will be digging through my movie guys.
