Nothing was broken, still no idea how it happened. Considering when I put him back on the shelf he barely fits and his antenna head actually touches the top of the shelf.
Probably work on the movie crap tonight ... probably should just wheel the bin upstairs for them.

Packed up the remaining movie figures (I culled the Bumblebee's a while back, I need to cull more) plus Beast Machines, plus Machine Wars plus all the BW Maximals and a few Japanese exclusives.
I can actually see where I've made a dent now. So much more to go though.

At the time of this posting there's less than 6 hours until settlement.
All the Beasts are packed. I thought of putting them off until last, but that was going to be constantly weighing on my mind so I started on the G1's. Got a bunch of small boxes so things are packed lightly.
They're not aging well, especially the joints. Had my first break, Brainstorm's arm fell off. Turns out the arm is screwed on from the inside and the thread in the shoulder has given way. Second time I've seen threads failing in a TF, both have been in spots where there's a bit of pressure.
Really makes you appreciate how far they've come with joints.

And I work too much.
And it's been bloody hot.

Nope. Got that one from an auction of my old high school, it used to be in the science department.
Paid $10 for it (amongst a heap of other ****). I don't remember how we got it upstairs at the townhouse, but getting it down resulted in a couple of crushed fiancé fingers!

So I snared a third display cabinet from Harvey Norman. Had them deliver the first two, picked this one up in two trips (doors and shelves first trip, cabinet itself second trip).
Hoped to get everything in place and set up today, simply didn't happen because we did other stuff with the house, BUT ... everything is kind of in place, they just need to be cleaned up or in the case of the display cabinets, doors and shelves put in (I have to get doors made for one of them).
So rather than pictures, here's a dodgy Facebook video.
One good thing about the cases, they come with lights (one on the left has a fluro bulb, the one on the right has LED strips, as does the middle one but I don't have the power cable for it)

I haven't posted any updated pics here ... but some of you have seen them on Instagram. Suffice to say I have two cabinets full of G1. Have started on all the Optimus Prime/Convoy figures, should get a lot of that done this weekend. Slow going but I'm making the effort.
But it's time for a break from Transformers for a bit. A package arrived in the mail today.
See, Transformers weren't my first plastic robot toys. No, that honour belonged to one of those generic space robots. They used to be made of tin and you'd wind them up, then they moved to plastic and you put batteries in them.
And I had one. When I was blonde and skinny.
And I never forgot about that robot, I have no idea what happened to it. Probably discarded when Transformers came along. But I never forgot ...
When we moved into the new house, we got talking about all the different things we could put on the walls, floating shelves for example, and what we could put on them. It was around that time I started thinking about that little robot again. I started looking on E-Bay, was blown away by the prices of some of those "vintage space robots" (seriously, hundreds to thousands of dollars) but finding the one I had? Needle in a haystack. Most of them had no specific title.
Then I happened upon an auction from the UK. I watched it for a few days. It was ending at 1am or so for me, so I put a bid on and went to bed. Apparently I can sleep through e-mail, Facebook, Messenger alerts, but an E-Bay alert? Yeah, that wakes me up. I blearily looked at my phone expecting to be told I'd been outbid, but nope, I'd won.
$105AUD and less than two weeks later he arrived today. It's not EXACTLY the same as what I had (mouth is the major difference) but it's close enough. Required a small repair to it's foot, have yet to test it with batteries, but I have him. This may be my small side collection, just a couple of them to put around the house.
(Oh and he also came with two missiles (one discoloured) and his original box which is in fantastic condition)
