Yup your right the Dinobots and Wheeljack are flying. It should be noted that I think that was the only time that Wheeljack flew because I don't think he did in Season two.

Allready mentioned Autobots with aireal alt modes can fly. You didn't think that just ment planes and space crafts did you?Auto Bot wrote:Swoop certainly can fly.
Swoop definatly has an arieal alt mode, may be a dinosaur but still counts as part of the Aireal Autobots.
I actully have a better question.
The Decepticons who without a doubt can fly don't all have flying alt modes. Actully quite alot of Decepticons including Megatron himself just fly in Robot mode.
The Decepticons and Autobots who have flying alt modes allways transform to fly.
Do you think the characters who have aireal alt modes can't fly in robot mode? Do they actully HAVE to transform to fly? Obviously there are characters who fly only in robot mode so the need for a flying alt mode isn't really nessisary is it?

Starscream and the Seekers, and Jetfire should be able to fly in robot mode. They all have their thruster under their feet. Which gives them vertical thrust. But they won't fly fast in robot mode.
I always think Swoop should fly slow. Like when gliding. Dino flapping wings can't be fast.

To answer your question, the alt modes on earth give them more speed and arodynamic ablity. Also considering they're on earth the sight of flying robots would be rather freaky. I'm assuming that Megatron eventually reverts to gun mode and fits snugly in one of the seeker cockpits, ditto Soundwave for longer flights. And no they don't have to transform to fly. Starscream in an early episode flew without transforming, and at other times he did the same thing.
I think it depends also on the transformer.

So if you've seen the series then you know that the Cons can fly in or out of Robot mode. Soooo, why the question then about them flying only in alt mode?

That was the orignal question. If bots with the wings can't fly in Robot mode, and if they actually have to transform to fly.

Because maybe I don't remember every single little tiny detail of every single episode right off hand. Bingo! Exactly Auto-bot!
Megatron probably likes to be seen flying by the Autobots, the whole idea of him not being afraid of things, but he probably does eventually transform and sit in Starscream or Thundercracker.

He just want to show off his shiny chrome body. Makes him more intimidating.
I doubt that will be the case if he runs out of Energon.

Here's one for you. This episode clearly shows Prowl flying. He's even doing the classic "Superman" pose.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=vCPwH-YZczg
Here's another error in the same episode.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=F6cb0mWYViY& ... ed&search=
How does Skyfire get infected when he's too big to go inside the Autobot base or use the recharging chambers?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kg6xUKT9tVA
Even further errors. Ratchet trys to take credit for creating the devices that cured everyone but he was still infected himself when Sparkplug made them. The only ones at the base were Sparkplug, Jazz, and an evil Bluestreak.
Allso in the Return of Optimus Prime they say they need a Quentison to bring Optimus back to life because he was originally built by the Quints and they revived him once before.
As far as the rest of the series before that is concerned Alpha Trion was the one who built Optimus Prime from a damaged Orian Pax not the Quints. Now if you wanna try to convince me the Quints built Orian then that means what? Optimus was killed and revived in the series 3 times. Twice by the quints and once by Alpha Trion.
And Beast Wars talked about Starscream's ivulnerable spark, what about Optimus? Starscream's only been killed twice and resurected once.

It would still be 2 times because Orion didnt die!!he has badly damaged but not dead.

Actually Starscream only died once. He wasn't fatally blasted, just wounded.
Funny Auto bot, funny...but very true. Megatron has an ego. Might not be as big as Starscreams or Sunstreakers, but he has an ego. One of Megatrons best moments with Soundwave was that scene.
Hummm....actually that would be a fun game to play. See who knows the most about transformers on this site.
He just want to show off his shiny chrome body. Makes him more intimidating.

No because when the Airel-bots took him to Alphatrion,he first checks Orion and says he does have a strong spirt within him.If he were dead there would be no sprit or spark in him.
