LOTS of Windblade at my local walmart on Decarie/Jean-Talon in Montreal. Actually lots of that entire wave.

Also, I spotted the latest one step changer figures at my toysrus. Hopefully that helicopter drift will still be there tomorrow when I whip out my walmart online price print out.

Too bad she'll be 17$ instead of 10. Now, the question is, will she be there at my local Laval Walmart, or will that store only have an empty and messy TF section as usual?

Everything transformer related is 1/3 off at Target. This is a yearly thing and you wont get better deals come boxing day. They do this here like that its already the right price come the 26th. The deals arent that great, the best figure available is Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus for 20.99.

hey hey! just got home from TRU in west edmonton alberta, and looky what i found!
platinum AOE dinobots unleashed 5-pack!

to my knowledge this is the first retail sighting anywhere right?

That's 10$ more than normal retail price if you had to buy the normal ones separately. Not too shabby for some premium products. A shame it's not the entire team for say, 150$.

i just double checked BBTS cause i was curious, their price is 120 american! that makes our 130 canadian look pretty damn good!

ive now checked everywhere in edmonton worth checking, and its a pretty sad state. but if i were a bettin man id put my money on CW showing up at the underdog, target. i found the windblade assortment months ago from there and still havent seen them since.

for any of us canadians who have yet to get that assortment, i highly suggest hitting up TRu.ca as they have them in stock, and shipping is free after $25 (while in the states its $50, go canada!).

Sorry, a mutual friend gave me his multicolor version for 20$. Apparently it was a deal I shouldnt pass up. He's apparently a popular gestalt, I am sure you will sell him one day.

Hey guys, I dont know about you but I’ve got the feeling we wont be getting combiner wars for a loooooooooooooooong time here in Canada, especially TRU. I went yesterday (for my awesome reporter scoop) and stopped to see if the TF shelves had anything new. At first I thought they didn’t but in reality they did: they had finally gotten voyager Slog and Drift. I had gotten them online when there was a 33% off sale so I totally forgot that they never showed up at retail. Well, they finally did. And that tells me we wont see combiner wars before summer. I have no clue about brainstorm though.

i hate to break it to ya WJ, but it might just be where you live.

i got slog/drift in my TRU's, and windblade/roadbuster boxes at target, both around november or earlier. im confident ill see some CW in late jan / early feb.

Oh no. And as I recall, it was the same with the armada starscream generations wave, right? We got them super late. I guess its just quebec. But at least you get them

It's not just Quebec.

In Fact when I had a chance to visit the TRU in Laval I saw the last wave of Kreo blind packs (the one true series of blind packs) in mid-September. The first I found them local here in BC was just before Black Friday.

Between that and the KREO Combiners wave 3 showing up last month at Save-on-Foods, I've learned to just roll with it when we don't see things, If i really want it i'll pay extra for getting them from the US & shipping, or wait and take my chances. So far I still end up getting most of the ones I want.

Target has announced that it will be swiftly leaving Canada once the court authorizes this business decision (since there are contracts at play and the sort).

Many people will lose their jobs (they will all be given 16 weeks salary though) and it's terrible but all I can think is:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, we are losing a bunch of possible Transformers exclusives.

Of all three retailers (them, Walmart and TRU), Target was the best in Quebec. Their exclusives were not amazing, BUT they were present. TRU still doesnt bother putting English on their boxes for platinum and MP releases so Quebec doesnt get them. Walmart was good to me this year with Predaking BUT we canadians didnt get most of their AOE exclsuives such as the beast wars and energon toy reissues.

Target was the only place that gave us all their exclusives and did the extra step of having the right language on the box so that even Quebec could get them. And for the value, nothing this year in Canada beat that two pack silver optimus and G1 colour foc grimlock pack for 16.99$.

But thats over now, too bad.

I am rather pissed off by the callousness of this move.

Target rammed their way in with their acquisition of Zellers, and pulling out nowcould cause a number of ripple effects in the Canadian market beyond our personal needs as TF collectors.

Less competition results in retailers doing less to get your business. Forget exclusives, that's one less store TRU & Walmart needs to price match.

Personally I'm bitter as the Target that opened 2 blocks from me has been quite good, not just for toys but food and cloths as well.

Too bad HBC doesn't have the balls to buy back some of their locations and give us an improved Zellers.
