Ah, cool, shame about the size though. I went back and forth on which Megatron to get for my prime display. Somewhere between price and cool factor I settled on the Dark Engergon version and ended up being very happy. I added the Dr Wu Dark Tyrant sword and that works perfectly with the deco!Va'al wrote:Kurona wrote:Yup, that Megs came in an exclusive 2-pack with a deluxe TFP Optimus and some PVC figs of the three humes. The size is a big issue with that figure yes (heh) but as with most of the other FE ones, it's a truly excellent toy. I've owned both that version and Rampage, intentionally sought out both, glad they're in loving hands again now.

I know people complain about FE Arcee's size but I've never heard much about the others. I like all the ones I have (never handled FE Steve). If I ever come across FE Meggy for a decent price I'll probably jump; looks like a really cool figure.Va'al wrote:The size is a big issue with that figure yes (heh) but as with most of the other FE ones, it's a truly excellent toy. Here's something that'll probably look pretty good on your TR Megatron.

Also this is a nice place you got here. I think I might stay awhile.

Unfortunately, Clobber's handle has very weak pegs and is very stiff in anyone's hand - meaning Clobber will immediately come off the handle and said handle will stay in the holder's hand whenever you try to take Clobber off.
Fortunately, this allows Viper to fulfill his dream of becoming a rock star.

Did the 80s GI Joe movie have any vocal tracks? If so he's probably singing one of those.

It took me soooo long... but thanks to a generous friend's offer, I finally have a representation of my favourite Transformers character.
Well, I mean, it's a representation of a version of my favourite Transformers character. Still waiting on an IDW Rodimus that doesn't break my bank account, but for now I'm pretty happy with this dude. And hey, he used to look like this in -ations, so... it kinda counts? Sorta? And I do enjoy Hot Rod in general... ah well. Point is, I got him, I love him, he's an awesome figure.
And because it's not based on IDW Rodimus, a hidden blessing is that it includes the one thing I really miss from IDW Rodimus' design!

Dat car mode
I'm an absolute sucker for goofy sci-face 80s space stuff like this. It's a microcosm of everything over-the-top XTREME RAD BODICUS that Hot Rod's supposed to embody and I love everything about it. Those edgy angles, that loud colour scheme, that obnoxious as hell spoiler that in no way would ever be street legal... it's just. So. Beautiful. You guys can have your 'realistic' cars and your 'believable' alt-modes that gives you a sense of 'immersion' and 'moderation'. You fools. You fools with your Porsches and Fairlady-Zs and Lamborghinis and whatever Bumblebee is these days to avoid legal trouble. You will never, never understand - never know the simple joys of the Rod...

Also even if he isn't actually IDW Rodimus, yeah, that colour scheme just makes my Lost Light display look a hundred times better.

Congrats!
Finally a captain for that wayward ship of yours.
You know I'll take some fictional fantasy land/sea/air/space vehicle alt mode any day, but you be careful what you say about my sweet and fair Lady of the Z!

I still think Lambourghinis and muscle cars (thats the BB alt mode you were referring to) are the way to go with Tfs these days. They just offer up so much fun and style. The fact that they are long and kind of blocky works well with the robotic angular aesthetic and you get stuff like Downshift, Animated Lockdown and Prime Cliffjumper, the best of the best (truly, those molds are all legendary). As a matter of fact, I am thinking of a list of the top 10 alt modes and you just made me realize that the muscle car could be near the very top.
All that aside, I also love the futuristic 80s car, like Blurr Arcee and Hot Rod. I do very much love them and I do very much love this hot rod toy. I think it handles the backpack very well and its super smart about making the legs as kibble free as posible, while still using them to hide some car kibble (to help the said backpack from being too big).
I also love how simple but effective that flip out front is. By just flipping that small piece, you get a totally diferent shape for the front making the torso look totally different from the front of the car mode. Also, I LOVE how they actually gave his innards details, like that grey piece that gets covered by the car front. Little things like that really get to me.
My only beef with this toy is how high the soulders get, they interrupt spoiler silouette (the MP also had a problem with that but it was caused due to some other pieces getting in the way).
So far, the only Rodimus toy that has that unbroken silouette is the animated one:

Here here!
I much prefer a retro futuristic space cybertronian alt mold thingy. The TR line has been killing it in that area
I feel having to adhere to a real life car restricts the designers.
So much praise for TR HR, if I ever seen him in the plastic I'll have to seriously consider my way
His alt mode really is all teh sexies

I bet Rodimus painted himself blue and purple after someone told him that the blue part was the hottest part of the flame.

It's International Woman's Day, and the IDW Transformers 2017 Annual confirmed the first Lesbian pairing in the franchise - Dustup X Jumpstream. This made me so happy I went ahead and took pictures of them for the last hour
