There can still a new Primus without it needing to be as big as Unicron was (or needing to be a HasLab release). Just redeco Kingdom Rodimus in gold and make it a "David vs. Goliath" type rivalry where size doesn't matter. That toy even comes with the Sword of Primus.o.supreme wrote:BUT... I really want it to be Primus so Unicron has a proper rival...If that makes sense.

Uncle Sixshot, Uncle Sixshot!
He killed Ultra Magnus, why are you all cudly with him spawn of Spike or whoever.
I'm with the people in this forum asking for a playset.
I'm not going to save up for a giant Primus, he's a no-character for me since he's not in the cartoons. + the Supreme one is good enough and I didn't get Unicron pure for size, price and no base mode.
My based-on-nothing guess is either Primus or what somewone mentioned Omega Prime (Car Robots/RID Optimus Prime and Ultra-Long-Ass-Legs-Magnus) which would not excite me actually, and also the followup Beast Megatron 16-changer. The toys as is are fine for me.
I don't even have a wish for a Haslab Transformers wise actually. There's so much cool stuff already and coming out. And I actually do not like the whole Haslab idea, extremely high priced, premium AF and a scent of elitist. If a toy is so damn expensive I would hesitate to get it out of the package and play with it like an 8 year old. And I play with my toys as an 8 year old so if I'm not going to pose it and have it in battles, why buy the damn thing and not just print the photo and frame it, put it on a wall.
Still hoping for a simplified version of Star Saber without all the mini-tiny's and just a normal voyager or even a leader priced release somewhere in the future.
I'm sure there's a market for the premium stuff and base stands and all tiny items he had in that 1 episode, I'm just not one of them. I like my toys on the shelf in a toystore (so I should move out of Holland). Affordable, fun and in decent supply. I did just get Masterverse Motherboard for more than I would like to pay, but 100 euro's is still a decent price for something exclusive (+ she's big).
However I'm always for the, repaint the premium exclusive, strip all the extra's and mass release it about 2 years after. Then the elitists would still be elite because they got the first run, they have their original colors and all the little items and the good looking boxart. And the toy-players get the mold as well.
Long completely offtopic opinion, haven't posted in a while... sry.

It's a little off topic, but I've decided to watch J G1 and am almost done with Masterforce. While that's alright, Headmasters is just trash. Yeah, I'm watching the subs, not the dodgy dubs.
It almost makes me regret skipping the new version of Overlord and PM Prime. But they're still lackluster compared to their G1 selves, which is why I sipped them originally.
Omega Prime. He looks cool enough, I guess. I dunno if I want him enough. May be the first Haslab I pass on. I don't get every Prime or every leader toy.

To each his own. I still think it would have been amazing if back in 1987 Sunbow had decided to forego "The Rebirth" and instead just use the original series actors to dub Headmasters and import it that way. The cost probably would have been nearly the same (what they saved on not paying AKOM to animate 3 episodes), to instead get the series from Toei (whom Sunbow was already partnered with), and just dub the 35 episodes, and this might have even lead to them importing MF & Victory... who knows, oh well... I still find the series to be fun , and they are MY official Seasons 4-6 of the Original Series.

Re: Next Transformers Haslab to be Revealed January 30
Masterforce is good. Weird in that it's TF actively trying to not be robots, but I'm entertained. I think it's a worthwhile continuation of G1.
Headmasters, though, is the worst so far. I think it would have been decried if it had been dubbed. There would be no mysterium to shield it from scrutiny.
So much of it sounds cool or bold on paper, but it pans out so poorly. Nothing seems especially well thought out. The best example is Convoy's fruitless sacrifice where he dies to save Cybertron only for it to be blown up episodes later. And nobody really misses Cybertron or Prime - on either side. All the legacy characters act totally out of character. It's like Season 3 Grimlock ... but for every single legacy character. The narrator narrates friggin' everything. And it just meanders from uninteresting episode to uninteresting episode.
There's just no amount of better dubbing that can save it.
We're getting off topic. But you can point me to a "Headmasters is trash" post if you want my deeper thoughts on it.

Pretty sure they said they weren't going back to the Japanese G1 well again for a while so it's probably a moot point debating that here. If they did, then the obvious answer would be Star Convoy with a bunch of Micromasters.
You probably aren't wrong there, it sure beats the last bunch that were announced during the holidays.
The thing about doing Primus, which Sabrblade alluded to earlier, Primus doesn't have to be a as bit as Unicron. Even as a planet he can be a little smaller and still bring a big fight and potentially be cheaper.

But if Hasbro truly wanted to stick to scale, which it seems they've been trying to do, then Primus would actually have to be bigger than Unicron, because Cybertron was bigger than Unicron in planet mode, IIRC.
As for gold Rod, as much as I would love that repaint, it's not well-known outside of Japan so it would have to be a Selects commander.

While in his only UK origin, he (and Unicron, too) was like if someone took all of Rodimus's colors and put them in a blender.

Then, when an avatar of Primus appeared in the BotCon 2000 comic (which Furman wrote with Marvel G1 canon in mind), it was fully solid gold/yellow.

Seriously, this would be one of the lamest figures in history. Electrum Rodimus. Yay. Can you get any more niche than that?...
....then again, they made Straxus....
As far as TF:The Movie goes, shall we NOT talk about how many scale issues there were in that movie? How if Unicron really was as big as he initially seemed when he transformed, picking up Galvatron would have been like trying to grab a speck of dust? Or the Dinobots' size in relation to his butt? Seriously. It would have been more like scabies or dust mites on Unicron's bootie rather than chug figures to human hands.
Just gimme a $600 Primus at tax season that rivals Unicron in size, and I will die a happy death.

He isn't faceless, that's the underside of his chin and neck after taking a mace to the jaw.
I always figured Cybertron and Unicron have roughly the same mass just vastly different shapes since Cybertron isn't perfectly round and is missing large chunks, and pretty hollow. I've read that since Unicron and Cybertron initially inhabited asteroids (in the Marvel comic canon) rather than planets they probably aren't much bigger than the largest known asteroids, around 1000km in diameter. (Earth is nearly 13,000km, the moon is over 3,000km.) It's not like the pre-planet versions of Unicron and Primus represent their sizes later, they aren't just giant guys with asteroid armor on that roll up int o balls.
And frankly I prefer the idea of Cybertron being a non-transforming planet and Primus giving his all into creating life while Unicron is an engine of destruction.

THAT would be an announcement worth listening to.
lol, that would be laughable in light of the fact that the past 3-5 years have seen a constant stream of unbelievable and unprecedented releases of both major and minor characters from every corner of the franchise.
Imagine saying this in a world where G2 Jhiaxus is a retail release...
Where Junkions come in multiple varieties, breaking apart to form any old thing you can make...
Where Leader Class Dinobots in all their glory exist...
Where two main lines cater slavishly to the Neo-Classic/Chug lifestyle we've all been craving since 2006 dipped its toes into it...
Where every baseformer titan retains integration to the modular Modulators and a good majority of the Leaders and Commanders do too.

Marvel Cybertron is Saturn-sized.Emerje wrote:I've read that since Unicron and Cybertron initially inhabited asteroids (in the Marvel comic canon) rather than planets they probably aren't much bigger than the largest known asteroids, around 1000km in diameter. (Earth is nearly 13,000km, the moon is over 3,000km.)

This really makes you wonder how exactly Unicron planned to eat Cybertron. Did he just eat smaller planets?
And just how tiny was the planet Lithone?

And just look at how tiny Cartoon Cybertron was compared to Earth:#1 Signal Lancer fan wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Waaay bigger.Rodimus Prime wrote:But if Hasbro truly wanted to stick to scale, which it seems they've been trying to do, then Primus would actually have to be bigger than Unicron, because Cybertron was bigger than Unicron in planet mode, IIRC.

And what do y'all suppose Unicron would have done if he'd ever paid a visit to Aron's planet from the episode "Child's Play", given just how enormous that planet and its inhabitants were? It's practically a whole planet of Unicron-sized people!

Granted, Aron may not look as big as Unicron in that pic, but remember that he's still a child. His parents and the other adults on his planet were much taller than him.

I've even used this example myself in other threads on other forums. But yeah... I just figure it was an issue of scale. But it does make you question this famous quote:
For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet, Cybertron. But now, you shall witness... its DISMEMBERMENT.
Maybe the "little" was more figurative than literal? Trying to deepen Galvatrons dread that he done messed up.

Probably closer to $700, but that would seem to be ideal.
Maybe Unicron & Primus both mass shift (shrink) in Robot mode removing some of the empty cavernous space they have as planets

This picture of Unicron on Cybertron is another of the inconsistencies from that movie. When Hot Rod and the crew approach Cybertron initially when Kup says that he's never seen anything like this before, Unicron was literally as tall as the planet was wide and his initial strike- his hand takes up about a fifth of the width of the planet when it hits. We really cant get a read on him at all from the movie because of the size variations.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.
