Just heard that Zellers could be closing and be replaced with Target`s My friend had been talking to a worker about the economy and how they might be closing up. Although this is an employe speaking it could share the same fate as KB. So you Canadiens might get Targets exclusives in your town soon. Anyway ProwlJazz out.

Wouldn't surprise me. A few years back the same company that bought Zellers/The Bay chains is the same one that owns Target. It's the reason that Zellers has been getting Target exclusives.

I don't think so. I know Target had been rumored to be interested in The Bay, etc about 4 years ago, but I don't think anything ever came of it. The Bay/Zellers was bought by NRDC Equity Partners.

hmm, I thought they owned Target as well. Guess I was wrong. Either way I think a Target could be better than a Zellers

Isn't there a store in the US called Zellers and its a jewelry store? I really think there is. But I don't know why I am insisting it so much :lol:

This is standard rumor mill.

I have been hearing about a proposed Target rebranding of Zellers for years.

Simply put a shake-up of that level would have more attention in the press if it was going to happen. Also seeing that some Target items are sold at Real Canadian Superstore under PC and Joe brands it is less likely.

But you never know.

As far as Target exclusives showing up at Zellers, that was explained months ago by Hasbro trying to support the Canadaian market. Same as Target scouts at RCS, and mini-cons at TRU.
