CFC Round 4 Stuff

Meeting place for the Autobot faction.

CFC Round 4 Stuff

Postby Bun-Bun » Sun Feb 24, 2019 4:10 pm

Your 1-stop thread for all Bot related stuff for this round (like asking for backup if you aren't already part of the fb clique)

But before it starts: Let's brainstorm some strategy.
Here's some stuff I came up with (after I had already reformatted once... I may have to again)
Tell me what yinz think and what you disagree with &/or would add.

Psych wrote:Splicer - Repair 50 times.
Strategy:
- Make a dedicated Medic with no other tactics other than maybe avoid as to reduce the amount of time your character does anything else.
- Because your job doesn't revolve around making kills with a certain tactic feel free to use high-end weaponry
- It could actually be advantageous to use little to no INT in your set-up. The idea being that the less damage you repair the more often you (and your teammates) will perform a repair... of course that doesn't help anyone if you're all dead so... a-hmm-ha

Psych wrote:Scout - Avoid 50 times in missions where you survive at the end.
Strategy:
- This is the only position that requires survival. As such high endurance, strength, and a decent armor are essential.
- Because you need to survive you may want to wait until you find a mission where your side's survival seems assured.
- Speed (at least is theory) boosts Avoid so make sure you have a good deal of it.
- Avoid only works against un/armed attack, not against other tactics, so try to get yourself into missions where tactics are used less (ie low-mid level missions)

Psych wrote:Assault Trooper - Make 50 kills with Ram.
Artillery Unit - Make 50 kills with Strafe.
Vanguard - Make 50 kills with Bite.
(these three are nearly the same)
Strategy:
- Like with Repair do NOT upgrade in any other tactics (except maybe avoid) to increase your chances of performing the desire action.
- Because you need your kills to be the result of tactic damage you may be better off using a weaker weapon than normal so that you don't accidentally kill your opponents with it.
- Invest heavily in your chosen tactic and it's feeder stat (STR for Ram & Bite, FRP for Strafe) before worrying about your other stats. Other than for defensive reasons (ie not getting hit as much) you can skimp on Speed as you don't want to be doing un/armed damage anyways.

All of these are basically what i went with as well for my strats. Only difference is how i built my Scout. For Scout i went speed and power instead of speed and defense.

But excellent idea on sharing this :D ;)^

The only thing i haven't yet decided on is what level i'm making some of mine(mainly 2 of them). Whether to have them at 3 or 4.

If I understand bun's ideas, there is a good chance your character could drop a level from its previous form. I wish you all the best of luck. I don't see too many hitting their goals even in a week time. In my case, I be lucky to hit 15 for any one category which still be short of the L3 goal. My group might become all drones unless I come up with good character ideas.

Psych adjusted the requirements for levels, so it's not that hard. That way players of all levels can partake and have fun.

Ah...sssspit....I apologize in advance to all my fellow Autobots if i'm one of the last ones to finish  ....Been having strafe woes lately for kills, i can guarantee you that's likely to be my last one completed.

That being said, let's do this Autobots, and be the first faction finished!(for those who haven't seen, apparently this round isn't ending until every team finishes  )

We may not be able to reset but I'm sure we can make other adjustments in our play to help each other finish. (in the case of strafers making sure you deploy into a bunch of meatshield allies that don't do much damage so you can snipe all the kills)

Yeah, i plan on keeping him in missions around his level. Since the only that requires survival to count is the Scout, i'm not worrying too much about which missions i throw my repair guy into. It's a bit reckless, i admit that, but long as i get those repairs in the end is all that matters lol.

Even if I am not in this, I have no problem being a meat shield and any repairs on me still counts unless psycout only counts tactics on those who signed up.

Repairs count on any ally, I believe.

Seems like so far everyone is having it easy on the repairs, but most other ones seem to coming in at a slower rate.

It didn't help me that in one mission my Ram alt kicked two people into stasis lock within seconds of each other.

My luck with the other 4 are just... giving me a migraine.

Especially my bite character. Useless moody dragon. <_>

I share the pain XD. I'm getting the kills...just, not with tactics. Toughest part is down at my level outside of the 1-10/1-11 most missions i'm finding 1 to 2 opponents at max usually. I know Dragonslayer is in the same boat as me too, cause i'm seeing him in lots of missions with me.

Hasn't the Dragon-alt class always been...shall we say... temperamental?

This is why I am running my experiment outside of the official tournament. Us lower level players will take quite a bit longer to reach our goals even if they are less than the 50 kills. I think for L3 it is 35 but I half way expect most of us to hit 25 by the time the higher levels hit their 50 Mark's. The other typical scenario is we get slagged from the get go. At best I get two tactics a mission but more times than not it is zero.

I can't speak for everyone else but my plan was that as my guys finish I was going to switch tactics to do what I can to support the lower level players.
The 5 squad characters may not be able to reformat but we have no such restriction on the other 7 characters we have.

For some reason i found this amusing (adding a little story spin to it)

Team Dragonslayer's Boltbrain and Steelwraith stand in mission line with Team Raphael Prime's Caniac and Ryche. Caniac looks over at them, "Hey, we'll make you guys a deal. Boltbrain, you can have these two, if you'll let Ryche have these two Steelwraith." (edit, i just double checked when updating score list and realized i looked over it too fast and thought the 2nd kill was a ram kill, still kinda funny i guess lol)
