Very, very nice Lord_Loqi! :twisted:

The face underneath mask looks like he has some sort of "good" left in him. Don't know if that was intentional, but still looks mighty fine so far.

Really a nice try, but I was envisioning more of an welder's mask kinda rotation (WWI Jetfire?) involving the complete front part of the helmet, instead of only a movable mouthplate.

And I think your first helmet design kicks arse, too!

Between this 2nd attempt and the 'fixed' 1st model, I'd definately prefer if the 1st is used.


I tried sketching that idea out and I just wasn't too impressed with how it cameout. that and the armor was supposedly supposed to be romanish and the romans didn't have the foldback plating your refering to. The roman gladiators had removable face masks on hinges but they mostly rotated to the sides. I know your thinking of gladiator by now and while they did have the ability to cast the helmet pieces whats his face wore(EDIT TITUS) it's not something a soldier would have worn.

:oops: Oops. But too bad Vector Prime's already silver and gold, cause those colors would have looked good on Eternus if you ask me, mainly due to the while good king theme.

Hey Lord_Loqi,

I'm not sure what's going on here, but out of the 5 times I viewed this topic, I've only been able to view your pictures of Eternus once. Are you removing and then reposting them, or is this just some kind of glitch or something?

Please let me know, and if possible, could you e-mail me pics. I'm not sure if I will be able to see them in the forum.

I haven't done anything to the pics. are you sure your on the correct page. this reply is currently on page 6 of 6. the eternus pic is torwads the end of page 5. If you still can't find it I'll try and pm you a copy.

Yeah, I looked on page 5 before page 6 was created. Out of the 5 times I viewed that page; I only seen the Eternus pic once (it was the full body shot). I justed tried to view it again, and even refreshed the page, but no go.

well,since my pics arent getting up as soon as id thought,i decided to go ahead and show an altered rampage from tfu to look like mine.sorry.it looks like complete crap in this pic,plus things are misisng.for example,the purple antenae arent there,and the swivel with the wheel and two legs has the legs off and is turned around.

Hello!

Here are my first changes of the BW Tigerhawk figure that I'm remaking into the Vok emissary Merceron. I've turned the tail/waist piece around so that it faces backwards (It looks better), and I've began to resculpt and repaint his head (I used the method that my dad taught me years ago; drybrushing). I still have more to do on the sides of the head, but the main face is done. Take a look, and tell me what you think.

:shock: *Drools* That looks sweeeeeeeeeet! Nice job, Fourth Heir! 8) But I don't really like how his mouth turned out, though...Maybe you can put some kind of gasmask over it? Oh yeah, and what's that thing next to his hand? It looks like a thumb, but if it is, then it has a really odd position. :?

His thumb is spread because he's leaning forward on that hand though I suppose I could just as easily tuck it under in a clenched fist instead. As for the face - it's taken direct from the photos you provided. Have you altered the sculpt since then?

Quick question: Since I'm having Fourth_Heir do my Delphinia figure, and he's going to have to do at least 5 drawings for her (Delphie & Einia's Robot Modes, both of Delphinia's Robot Modes, and Delphinia's Alt Mode); maybe you could draw my Merceron figure (if that's O.K. with fourth_heir too, of course). What do you think?

Compared the toypics to the artwork, and I've discovered the problem. The fangs are to small and the chin to shirt, making it look stubby while it's in reality longer with bigger fangs. I included a pic to signify what I'm talking about. And for the hand, how about spreading his fingers to make him look like he's supporting his bodyweight on it? Because right now it looks a bit monkeylike. :wink:

Hello Everyone!

It's Update Time!

I've made some progress on Merceron since my last WIP pics. I've added a nosecone and extra wings to his jet mode, painted his arms and nosecone, and removed his tiger ears (to further alter his beast mode so it's not Earthly).

I still have to add a longer neck for his beast mode (to, once again, alter it more), remove the Maximal symbol from his chest, add hip panels and then do final puttying, sanding, and painting.


But I have a couple of ideas that I would like to have anybody's opinions about:

1. You know that clear-green sphere on the robot's shoulder that looks like it has a chair inside of it? Can that be where Eternus sits during Jet mode?

2. Should I do any further alterations than the ones listed above? If so, what should I do? BTW, in the last WIP pics, I modified his head and reversed the tail section.


But anyways, what everybody wants to see, the WIP pics!

I see what you mean about the face - I imagine the camera angle on the reference photo I used is to blame for that one - it shouldn't be a problem to fix. His proportions are pretty monkeylike which is why I opted for such a pose but I'll see how spread fingers look :)

Now this is looking way better than your previous attempt on kitbashing MS; I don't like the robot head painting too much though, looks kinda rough.

How could Eternus sit inside Merceron's vehicle mode, isn't it eternus as big or bigger than Merceron?

If we use this idea we'll end up with weird scenes like the one in the movie with Galvatron inside Cyclonus cockpit.

But as an alternative, maybe Merceron can generate a giant solid-hologram ship, kinda like Green Lantern could do.

Well, I discovered the problem! It's not me; it's actually the paint! The silver that I had used was getting old and became clumpy. That's why it looks so rough. But the good news is that I bought new silver paint, and used that on the other silver areas of Merceron.

Read Merceron's bio. He size-changes and becomes massive in his jet mode. When in beast and robot modes, he's about the same height as Eternus.

Those were always funny to me, especially when Galvatron shakes his fist as he passes the Autobots. Classic!

I'm not so sure about this altenative. Wouldn't that kind-of defeat the purpose of his jet mode? Maybe he could generate a cockpit area from that green-sphere that could protect Eternus in a force-field type area.

What do you think?

O.K. No more size-changing. Merceron is the size of Eternus in all modes, and that's final!!!

Now I have to change the bio (again... :roll: ). Whew, that's got to be the ninth time I've had to revise it, but I'm O.K. with that. It's actually kind-of fun (I don't get out much :( ).
