I just want to say sorry for not posting. Got caught up with the tennis, then had some Internet issues--but that seems to be all fixed now.
Anyway, I have a fair bit of reading to do so I'll do that.

Hey Autobot players, Jetfire sent out an Autobot wide message about the shield being down. It was in my last posting.

A question about the dark electrical energy the Fallen is sending:
Smokescreen said it is seeking out Cybertronian life, so I am assuming all of us at ground zero are particularly at risk since we aren't getting much warning, it's obviously it's not slow , and we're the first Cybertronians it will detect.
My question is, how fast is it? Obviously fast, but if the planes hit afterburners , could we out run it at least for a moment?
All it effects is how direct I need to be when plotting my course through the stuff.

I would say it's about as fast as regular electricity or lightning, maybe a little slower. My inspiration for the dark electrical energy bolts was force lightning from Star Wars, so you can imagine it looking somewhat like that. It's attracted to mechanical beings, but it can be avoided if you move out of its way quick enough. Although, I'm not sure trying to outrun it is a good idea as I would think it would catch up to you, but I suppose it's a possibility.
Of course, just like any attack, it is entirely up to you how you want your characters to respond and how much of an affect the dark energy will have on them. If you take a direct hit, the energy will definitely overload your circuits for a time, but each mech is different and a glancing strike won't be as bad. Sixshot was ultimately taken down when he grabbed a hold of the Fallen's staff which pumped a tremendous amount of dark energy into him all at once. That's way more than what the lightning will do, but it's still dangerous nevertheless.
I hope I've answered your question sufficiently. If you need anything else, just ask away.

Oh you answered perfectly , thank you so much
. I didn't want to assume on this one, though I didn't really count on outrunning it, as yes, sort of started, but before I really did much of anything I wanted to make sure how fast it would catch up to me (not if, when
).

IIRC; Psychout, Landgrab, Mal Practice, Crueljaw and Blades are there and active, as the bots sped off.
Tantrum, Headstrong, Rampage, Blast-Off and Battletrap are there but unconscious/injured and Shockwave just dropped in, literally.

Would any of the mods mind if a few of us took up some of the b-list bots that we think would be still be on the Guardian? (The likes of Beachcomber, Seaspray, Powerglide or Cosmos.)

Cheers Sid, just thought I'd do the polite thing and ask first.
For those that don't have bios, (Comber, Spray and Glide) do you have them stored anywhere, or do you want us to create them?

I sometimes find bios for characters like that stored away in one of the older, archived games. Otherwise, gonna hafta make 'em from scratch.

No worries. We can create them easily enough, but if you can find any old ones It'll just save us the trouble.

I think anyone can look through the archives. You don't need me to do it, unless something has changed. I'm sure I used to poke through them for profiles when I was a non-mod.

Yep, found em. Beachcomber has one here, but Powerglide and Seaspray were clearly just as popular back then as they are now, as they don't.

new-character-applications-p1651183.php#p1651183
Scrounged from obscure and hard to read tech specs, Seaspray has been posted on new character apps to join Beachcomber and Pipes, as we didn't know where else to put him.
I upped a few stats of his (he had some laughably low stats, made it to 71 points when I was finished squinting at them) but I took his profile and stats directly from official sources.

NPC'ing I guess? I'm not sure the difference now if I'm honest.

Yeah, but Studly Seaspray didn't have a profile so I had to make him one. It's not so much applying as leaving it for review. There may have been alcohol involved, but applications was our logical choice to leave the profile.

In our case above we're taking a bunch of underplayed characters not involved in the main story and killing some time whilst we wait for things to evolve in the threads we're playing in.
As I always understood them, NPCs further the game without actually interacting with it, but that's not always how it works here.
Phaze pretty much nails it though.

Re: Chatterbox

For some players, they use NPCs to fill in gaps in the storyline. No name NPCs like in the mine portion of the Garrus-9 arc can be used a cannon fodder to be killed off later with little consequence. Then you have the opposite of what Phaze said where a player drops an active PC to NPC due to lack of interest but still needed for story purpose. The big thing is anyone can apply for a NPC if someone else is playing the character with the understanding the two talk to make sure the new player knows what is going on with the character.

Talk to a mod before you NPC too. Helps let them know for organization reasons as well as approving your choice. I.E. They aren't gonna sign off on if if someone wanted to NPC big names like Optimus Prime or Megatron.
