Watching Maddow tonight, it looks like the blackout day did its work, as the legislation that would make it much more problematic to do this little hobby (among a number of other things out there) has had some more roadblocks thrown at it.

On another note, tomorrow is Edgar Allan Poe's 203 birthday! Keep your fingers crossed that the "Poe Toaster" makes his return tonight to the writer's grave site in Baltimore Maryland.

The 'Poe Toaster" is, or rather was, a mysterious man dressed in back wearing a wide brimmed hat who, on the night before the anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday, would leave three long stem red roses and cognac at the grave of the writer.

The Poe Toaster had been making his annual visit since the 1940s, but in 2010 he never showed. In 2011 he was a no show either, and last night he never showed. It would seem that the tradition is now over.
