The 30th, I believe.

I'm not a reader but enjoyed RP1, must have been an easy read  it was like reading a video game chocked full of fun references. I dug it ;)^

I own Armada digitally, and I need to read it. Waiting for another beach vacay.

Altered Carbon is the ****! Everyone go watch it now even if you have to sub. I'm not sure if comparing AC to Blade Runner is fair. They sort touch on sorta similar themes but mostly the only thing in common is that both are Sci-Fi noir.

It took me a few episodes before everything clicked. The characters develop well and I really started liking them. Lots going on and they twist the pseudo science and plot together nicely. Highly recommended, then go watch Dark :-P

Yeah thats a cool refence to Japanese Spider-man. I know that theme song inside out (because thats all I ever watched of it).

And man, that Raiden toy is NICE!

W-w-where did you get that Iron Giant??? That is an amazing movie and I can't believe there actually is an Iron giant figure/model kit out there.

As for slowing down, I do really feel ya there. I'm feeling the same, like several of us started the run together in CW and are now winding down to take a break. In my case though, it'll be about hunting down old Beast Wars characters instead of a full stop or a slow trickle.

 W-w-w-what up D!!!
I got that at the very Chicago State St. Toy R Us I was just reminiscing about in the TRU memories article. And he was even one of those GLORIOUS SALES, I referred to. I picked him up on clearance in maybe '97 or 8, on my way home from college. I'm sure I looked absolutely ridiculous riding home on the train with a backpack, a bass guitar, and this giant robot in a box. He's 2 feet tall!

There were/are a lot of Iron Giant toys out there. Google it up. Might even see a resurgence after Ready Player One.

P.S. Densh! If you're reading. I really enjoyed your story AND PHOTO! in the TRU convo. ;)^

AH HA! Beast hunt!

theDMP wrote:Transmetal (1 or 2, need an opinion here!!!) Cheetor
Wow. Tuff call. I love 1st run BW Cheetor, but TM1 is a better toy. He carries over what the 1st did good, but tightens it up and improves upon it. TM2 is low on my list of favorites. The pile of knives style he and Dinobot were rescanned in doesn't always do it for me, but out of those two, Cheetor is cooler (sorry jak). Both modes are so over the top it falls on the "so ridiculous it rocks" side of the fence.
My 2 cents. Tm1 is a better, easier, more fun toy to play with. TM2 looks wild as hell and is as primordial teeth gnashing beastial you are gonna find in the entire era.

Take from that what you will.

theDMP wrote:Terrorsaur (original or Transmetal, need opinion here too!!!!)
BW is a Basic Class. TM is a Deluxe. BW has a fun and simple spring loaded transformation. TM has a more involved beast era ball jointed t-formation, and has a weird cool 3rd mode. I like them both. I only had TM forever until they did those Walmart Exc. TLK two packs. Poor mold has definitely seen better days. It feels like a dirty dime store KO. I can still appreciate what he is though 'cause I know where he came from.

They're both neat D. Maybe which ever you find first for what you wanna spend.

As for the goings on in the 'Tron

A buddy hipped me to a comic shop I hadn't been to yet called Krypton. So we rolled out to peep their wares. They had more toys than comics. Star wars to the end of a far far away galaxy! Lots of Marvel and DC stuff. They had a few TFs but I was told the majority were out for a toy show in Ohio. Thay had a really nice G2 Prime for fitty bux! The main take away though was I just found a great place to dump a bunch of old comic toys and GI Joe that I have been needing to clear out of here for years!

In the spirit of the shop's St. Patty's Day 20% off if you're wearing green sale, I did nab this little sweet shiny ingot of die cast super alloy for my desk at work. Bandai Absolute Chogokin Gundam Guncannon.
Image

I also bought the key to a super nerdy dork-out organizational collector geek rabbit hole.

For some unknown reason I felt compelled to snag this metal binder from work when it was on it's way to the dumpster before moving day.
It's purpose became clear, and the sticker was placed.

Image

I bought a pile of collector card sheets to sleeve up all these cards that we've been getting lately.

Image

And after digging through my entire instructions, catalogs, and card backs file cabinet, I realize I'm gonna have to go back to Krypton for more sheets!

I like this rabbit hole though because I can see the end! :PEACE:

Yo, Cob! Thanks dude!

1) Wow, really? I had never heard of an Iron Giant toy line, and there was a decent sized one? Will need to google that up.

2) After watching some reviews, I was leaning towards the TM1 myself for Cheetor. That really was the mode he shined in, and my favorite Cheetor moments were in that body.

3) I just put a bid on a TM1 Terrorsaur. I know I said he was low on priorities (I do want to get a full cast shot with Tigerhawk standing in as Tigatron and Airazor, focusing on the coolest first), but he appears to be cheap on Ebay for the compete version of his TM1 body. though I did google them all and am surprised that Inferno, despite being a shelfwarmer, is so expensive in comparison.

4) That is an awesome binder finder!

5) Yay for card holders! I need picture frames cause during my move I found hundreds of pictures that need framed, so I feel the book with sleeves thing right now!

D-max) nice list there and funny thing is I did have tm2 dinobot and tm1 cheetor that I was selling (along with a complete and uncrumbly tm1 megs) but they are long gone though now. I can't help but notice you left magnaboss off your list...that is sacrilege! He was one of the best combiners pre cw, and a lot of fun to play with.

Oh sure! I've noticed. I've gathered that, like me, you are a fan of Japanese robots in general. Not just Transformers.

That reminds me. Maybe you could help me identify this guy.

Image

Image

He's a Bandai toy. He was a gift from my brother in the mid 90's who picked him up in Little Tokyo L.A. The other two figures i recall from the series were a gold lion who transformed into a robot or armoured man, and a silver tiger who did the same.

Centauratron here lives in my Microman collection and rolls with Micro Knight. As does Battle Unicorn. Any idea what series he might be from? Does he ring any bells? I had kept the box forever, but I think I got rid of it during one of my moves. Regretting it now.

Bright shiny blue robot horse man. YES. PLEASE. :KREMZEEK:

Binders of cards.... That's something I've always wanted to do, but:
1) I think I'd rather keep all packaging material together, and
2) I would quickly come to realize I'm missing some cards, and would promptly go insane 8-}

Oh how it pleases me to have input on a newbies BW journey

Cheetor... I would say there is definitely nothing to rave about on the TM2 version. Had he show accurate coloring, that'd be one thing, but he doesn't even have his spots. I have a strange fondness for his first incarnation, though it too isn't great. TM1 by default it seems might be your best bet
However, TM2 Tripredicus Agent (Ravage) I find looks strikingly familiar to how Cheetor looked in Feral Scream Part 1. It was all dark and shadowy, and this repaint does the best job of highlighting the TM2 mold. I'd highly recommend it.

As for Terrorsaur, I actually think the Armada release looks better the original Transmetal. And although the original flip changer mold is small and simple, I've always loved it. Maybe see if you can snag a Lazerbeak or (Takara) Hydra. They both look great.

Well after four hours (!) Of searching I'm not getting anywhere near that robots identity :-? This is going to haunt me tonight, I know it. On the plus side I didn't realise that bandai made so many things I wanted, some that I didn't know I wanted till I came across then. Any more details you can remember from that toy will be great cobo, like if there's a date next to the copyright info.
