And than Cram came and filled my heart with Christmas joy with his tale of baby's first robo.
But let's get down to why we all really came here. What did the big red fatty bring ol' Cobotron?

That big funky thing in the back is a Microman toy. You all know Drift and Jazz of course, and then there is not Swope. Toyworld's Spear. Also not pictured because they didn't make it to Omaha in time to get loaded in the car for the trip south to see the fam, Platinum Dinobots Unleashed.
I'm so busy Dading it up and making Christmas magical for the kids, I think I'll have to wait til I get home to play. I'm up to my neck in princess castles, fairy realms, MLPs, and Elmos, and I wouldn't have it any other way on Crimus day!

At the detriment of getting 2 figures instead of 3 I strongly urge you to get an MP-10 Optimus Prime. That is without a doubt the hottest MP and it was going for an easy 400$ us before there was a reissue. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail
Plus, its an essential figure for an MP collection. I would also recommend wheeljack who is getting reissued soon. As for cons, your best bet would be appolyon (MP Megatron), who is not that expensive for a 3p. http://tfsource.com/xtransbots/Apollyon-2nd/
For Wheeljack, you are best to preorder it here. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1
With these pretty great savings, you are able to pass it on to get that Prime and Megatron

Get the car Autobots. They are all kinds of fun. Dynamic, gorgeous in both modes, awesome transformations. You can get the important ones (G1S1) for under $200 total if you find the deals.
As mentioned above, MP10 is a must. I have The Hasbro first run, he's great. Actually, I think all of my MPs are first run..woo
I got a great deal on the MP cassette Decepticons, and got MP Soundwave as a gift last year, so try to get people to buy them as gifts

I was going to say something similar about MP-10, and that if that Asia market one that Will pointed out is available, I would jump on it ASAP! MP-10s aren't getting any cheaper.
I was also going to point out the Wheeljack reissue. The prices coming out of these Japanese hobby sites are SOOOOO good you would have to be a fool to buy them anywhere else. Last time I did the conversion on Wheeljack he was about 40 to 42 US Dollars before shipping. You could get him shipped for $50 even Steven. I'd bet my MP collection on it.
Also, if you can get your hands on the latest Hasbro Starscream, DO IT! He is of superb quality and you'll never find a better price on an MP Seeker. (of course until 2016 when I'd bet they'll do Skywarp.
I see you have Prowl coming, but if you see Bluestreak at TRU at that price he's worth it.
Another good route to save a buck on MPs, is to keep your eyes on those one day sales BBTS has.
As for 3P MPs, I haven't gone that route yet. Not that I'm anti 3P, I have just steered clear of that rabbit hole.
Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to ask more questions. Especially if you have any about ordering from Japan, as that can get intimidating until you get the hang of it.
EDIT: OK I just hit Will's MP-10 link. Not the one I was thinking it would be. That's the Takara reissue. The Chosen Prime has the Asia version on a waiting list for $159, so maybe that one isn't so easy to find anymore.
Hey Cram!!!!

Well, I can really only order from sites like Ebay, Amazon, and BBTS, as those are sites that my parents trust (they are pretty wary of credit card fraud), and Wheeljack is $80 US there (so your MP collection is mine!
So, I'll do a list of all the ones I'll be getting so far:
Takara:
MP-8X (already have)
Shockwave
Soundwave? (assuming I can get him at a good price)
Hasbro:
Sunstorm (ordered on ebay with Prowl)
Prowl
Bluestreak? (really good price)
Starscream? (potentially easy to acquire)
Acid Storm? (I always liked the Rainmakers)

Would your folks order from a Japanese seller on Amazon? Because you will also see some great prices coming from Japan on there, and I believe a lot of them offer the same protection Amazon offers on domestic sales. Some are even eligible for Prime shipping.

So much new. So much to catch up on. So glad to have you coming back around.
I'd like to weight in on the MP discussion while I'm here.
What's the goal? Are you content with one version of a mold once experiencing it?
-I'd say get the recent TRU Starscream if you can.
-I'll parrot what everyone else says about MP10, get him while you can. And here's another option if your parents are up for it (HLJ still has him in stock).
-Good call on Shockwave. Get Apollyon if its in the budget, if not you can just hold out hope for an official one. Aside from Shockwave though the Decepticon ranks are thin. Even if you have to save up and pay scalper prices, try and get TRU Soundwave. Or if you don't need all the tapes, try Soundblaster as he's still readily available at most online retailers still.
-Sideswipe is coming to TRU this year (right guys?) so there's your Lambor mold covered.
-WJ is a must have so jump on those reissue preorders.
-BB (in my opinion) is also a must have. But if I were a bettin man, he'll be reissued. So maybe wait.
-After that (mold wise) its pretty much just Tracks, Magnus, Starsaber, and Rodimus Prime. Tracks is still cheaply available at the Japanese retailers, I'd scoop one while you can. Magnus is a pricey enough to pass on, but would still recommend him. Saber if PHENOMENAL, but for us westerners is a niche character. And Roddy is an easy pass being expensive, riddled with QC issues, and with an updated mold on the way.

(to WJ88) I'm also a wee bit worried about customs. I remember earlier this year, my brother was coming back from the DR, and he bought a really nice machete. After going through customs, it was snapped in half.
(to Shajaki) For the mold thing, I'll consider it if it is a new character, like Sunstorm or Red Alert, but not if it is the same character, like Bluestreak or G2 Bumbleee.
Where was it said that Sideswipe is coming to TRU? If so, I'd like to grab that.
I would get Bumblebee, except I don't really like how small he is compared to the rest (I know that's what the scale is, but I just don't like it).
Now Soundblaster's BBTS price, I can handle.
I would very much like to get Star Saber at some point, but he is a bit out of my range (as I have to juggle this with collecting the main Generations line as well).
EDIT: Looking at your HLJ link, and clicking on some other Masterpieces, it seems that, if I can convince my parents to shop at HLJ, then Magnus is in my budget, being a mere $120 US.
