Thanks B! But, I didn't find him in-store. Not sure if you're following the drama in the thread pertaining to these reissues, but orders are being canceled left and right. I got in on the initial pre-orders for Starscream, and some how I made it out with my order fulfilled.
even Cram, who I know got his order in before me because he's the one who told me to jump, had his order pulled out from under him.
I'm guessing it's plain and simple , dumb luck.
But anyway. The nostalgia meter exploded last night. From the packaging to the instructions to the sticker sheet, and to the toy itself, I just felt the force of being 9 years old again. I've been through other reissues before and it's always great to crack into some old timey feels, but this one really hit me hard.
I think a lot of it had to do with the retro packaging. Those fantastic and terrible old box art paintings must have just found their way into some old dark tucked away corridors of my mind.
As a responsible member of modern Earth I'm glad to see the old styrofoam inserts are extinct. But look at this lovely MP style clam shell. Classy, to say the least.
And then unpacking all the parts was a trip in the wayback machine to a time were "partsforming" and "weapons storage" weren't even a concept. Nor was it a time that anyone cared or new better. OF course we do have some new accessories in the box, like the lil Megs and fists with 5 mil holes. Both fantastic! Thanks for the retooling Takara.
(not pictured: the alternate spring loaded other missles, but they are there)LOOK! STICKERS !!!!!!!!! I love putting on stickers, and now that I've had 38ish some years to practice, I have to say I'm really good at it.
this is also great fun, because my Brother and I never had Starscream as kids. It's nice to finally have him, at an affordable price, even if he is a reissue.
A few posts ago I called this "obligatory". I think for this figure it's MANDATORY!

Finally complete! Here he is with the TRU reissue Thundercracker, and the only true 80's original trio Seeker I had, Skywarp. (My favorite Seeker BTW)

My entire G1 Seeker squadron. Thrust was the only other Seeker I had as a kid, and you may notice I don't conehead. Never have, never will. I just think on these old molds it look... well... dumb. There. I said it.
I was super excited when I heard this reissue was announced, and I'm super happy the BS with Walmart worked out so I could finally complete this little nook of my G1 collection.
and I do like robots with robotic beast modes, if that's what I associated them with originally like the Terrorcons or Energon Divebomb
