The irony in this is that, when Warrior Strongarm was first shown, people were complaining that its face wasn't feminine enough for the already not-feminine toy to represent a female character.Wolfman Jake wrote:MemphisR56 wrote:It surprises me that nobody has pointed this out about the Warrior Strongarm mold, and how it got effortlessly repainted into Greejeeber (male character) by takara in the TAV line.
Effortlessly? Maybe in the sense that Takara put almost no effort into that repaint, lol. Despite Greejeeber (or Gregevor, if you will) being a male character, the figure still reads as female to me, particularly because the face was not at all resculpted. He's got some pouty lips and a slender jaw. It really is all in the face.

Which is pretty much like what this whole thread has been about all this time, too.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The irony in this is that, when Warrior Strongarm was first shown, people were complaining that its face wasn't feminine enough for the already not-feminine toy to represent a female character.Wolfman Jake wrote:MemphisR56 wrote:It surprises me that nobody has pointed this out about the Warrior Strongarm mold, and how it got effortlessly repainted into Greejeeber (male character) by takara in the TAV line.

Clear and well said. That Bot wrote:Ironhidensh wrote:Are we no longer talking about a crappy half-assed robot toy?
The assertion that they don't look female begets the question, what is a female supposed to look like, what makes a female, what are the differences from a male, or any other sex or gender. It also brings up the question, could they have done better with the budget allotted to them? Did they need to, or are people judging too harshly? It's a much more complicated issue than you make it out to be.

The alt modes are switched. Skyburst is paired with Stormclash's vehicle mode and vice-versa. It should be this.
(also, why are you linking from TFW when Seibertron has their own pics?)
You misunderstand. He's knocking on the fact that these six are all remolds of preexisting molds instead of being brand new molds. To him, redecos and remolds of preexisting molds are "lazy" and everyone should have their own unique new molds, with the only exceptions being those who were redecos way back at the beginning of G1 (Seekers, Datsuns, Sideswipe/Red Alert, etc.).That Bot wrote:Ironhidensh wrote:Are we no longer talking about a crappy half-assed robot toy?
