Seibertron.com - The Ultimate Transformers Fansite
Hi all, this is my first post in this forums, and my first completed Transformers custom. I have been stalking for ages learning from the the pros here and practising on other toy-lines. So here's the result of that =)
Dark of the Moon's Soundwave has always been one of my favourite movie Transformer designs (And favourite Decepticon in any continuity). It's a shame he only lasted for one movie on Earth and would like to see him resurrected in some way in future movies.
My reasoning of creating a bigger "Leader" sized Soundwave is because I was disappointed with the original Human Alliance Soundwave which to me was subpar to others of the same line and scaled really small, even smaller than Bumblebee. I wanted a big menacing size for my favourite Decepticon that probably looked like he could topple Megatron himself if he wanted to.
The entire built of this custom was made from the death of multiple Autobots. Savagely destroyed 2 Bumblebees, a Battle Ops and Leader class. Along with parts from an Ultimate Optimus Prime, 2 Skyhammers, and unfortunately 2 Decepticon Starscreams. All this topped with a Mercedes SLS AMG remote control car ripped to pieces for Soundwave's car features.
The head was modelled by me and 3D-Printed by the awesome guys at My3DMi who helped out a lot with the understanding of the process. Much cheers~

All critiques and comments are welcomed! I normally do custom Funko Pops, but my roots started with experimenting with Transformers and I will definitely work on more in the future. Cheers all!
This is amazing, you did a fantastic job, the level of detail is insane, you should be super proud of yourself. My only complaint is not with the model itself, but with the title of the forum post. You labeled it as a custom leader class Soundwave from DOTM so people would assume that it, like other actual leader class figures, it transforms, but based on the level of detail and the fact that there are no pictures of vehicle mode makes me assume that transforming is something it can't do. For that reason I would call this a replica not a leader class figure. Like I said before this is amazing, I just thought that I would give you some advice since you said yourself that you are a first time poster.
Thanks for the compliments! To me, Leader Class is only a category for scale. I have seen several non-transformable customs that are "Leader Class". My objective was to have it in a scale that is able to stand next to other Leader class movie cons like Megatron and Starscream, so that's the reason I categorised it as a leader class. =)

Weapon: Anti-Thermal Cannon
That does look amazing. :O
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!
Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot) Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron
This is very impressive. That's a 3A level of details! Like those 3000$ articulated statues they make for the movie line. Also, being able to desing and actually print a custom 3D head is just fantastic.
A shame it dosent transform though.
