I agree completely. Even though the Tracks design was a blatant ripoof of the Firebird hood design, it was still different enough to sidestep a liscensing issue. And, it is flames.....not bird wings.

It's not about what he's meant to be, he's about how close it is to the real thing. Hasbro has avoided licensing issues by mixing and matching car models for the toys. For example, Universe Sunstreakers base model is the Lamborghini Gallardo, but it has features from other models, like the Murciélago and the Diablo for the back end.

I can see the current owner of General Motors easily suing Hasbro for, what they assume, using one of their old designs. Hasbro and court cases don't mix that well :P

Give them time, I am sure they will make specialized decos for him once he is released.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Yes! YES! Finally, I get to see Jazz! And he looks great! One of the many Jazzes produced will find a nice place on my shelf. As for the rest let's see:

Scourge- I was expecting better. Pass unless he proves himself more than meets the eye.

Perceptor- Looks cool enough. I'll probably pick him up.

Tracks- Bought on site. 'nuff said.

Thunderwing- Eh, maybe. Depends; we'll have to see.

Grapple- I missed out on Inferno, only saw him once (I knew I should have picked him up him that day). RotF Hoist needs a friend. Bought On site.

Lugnut- Grabbing my attention. I'll consider him when I see a review, specifically by Peaugh.

Windcharger- Bought on site.

Legends- BB is an easy pass. The rest I'll pick up. And where's Prowl? I thought he was being released as a G1 legends class too.

PCC Dinobots- eww. Didn't we learn anything from the apocalyptic warrior that was beast, who slaughter all in sight?

PCC Constructicons- possibly.

Exactly. These photos make the new deluxe figures look no better than legends. A closer review by someone who actually knows how to transform these will probably reveal a lot more detail.

That being said, I am a bit disappointed in Thunderwing. Is he going to get his drone/pretender?

Last thought: Grapple is effing awesome!

We hardly ever see the smaller Pretenders outside their shells in the Marvel comics, so I wouldn't count on it.

Apparently he comes with a drone that looks exactly like his inner robot jet-mode from the original mode and even clicks into his jet-modes cockpit, but it has no robot-mode.

Oh well, some things need to be repeated on every page at least once, like the MP Movie SS not being part of the main MP line. :P

And the icon I put with the post was not meant to be the 'frustration' icon. Must be a programming error going on here.

No worries, I know not everybody is anal about reading all the posts. I am actually interested to read what everyone is saying upon laying their eyes on this product for the first time.

Grapple is the only one I can say for certain I will not buy, as I have Inferno already and there isn't enough change.

Lugnut is iffy. If he looks better in person, I'll get him. I like his alt mode, i like TFA Lugnut, that freaky longarmed bot look is even growing on me.

Everyone else-Yes Please. Windcharger replaces Hubcap in my vision.

Thunderwing just looks awesome, kinda hoping he can go ultra mode.

PCC is just gonna be one of those lines I can't pass on. Lucky me, wave 3's pure repaints will let my wallet heal up for these guys. LOVE that Dinobot commander and superbot.

I hope the 2-packs are as good as these previews

The only thing that caught my eye was the PCC Dinobots. It looks really awesome, and the g1 legends maybe. The rest did not really appeal to me.

The movie Lugnut looks kinda weird, will have to see clearer pictures before committing.

Replacing the squirtgun with a crane mech isn't enough change? in terms of plastic, that's way more design and engineering than a new head mold.

I foresee an exclusive Hauler coming out at some point, which will be epic.

Not sure if it needs mentioning now but, aparently it's just a gun made to look like Fracas.

I still don't believe it is the reason. I don't think that you make a bad point. Your Lambo example above is a very good example, and I definitely se and understand your point. However, I don't think this is the reason in this particular case.

I still don't believe it is the reason. I don't think that you make a bad point. Your Lambo example above is a very good example, and I definitely se and understand your point. However, I don't think this is the reason in this particular case.

The 80s were very different. The Transformers were not officially licensed by car companies. Hasbro got in trouble with the Sideburn Dodge Viper back around 2001 which is why they had to start slapping on the Dogdge and Dodge Viper logos on the packaging. Human Alliance Jazz is an officially licensed GM product, as are all of the movie toys that have logos to the companies to which the alternate mode belongs (Ford / Barricade, Starscream / Locklear, etc). GM is also heavily involved with Michael Bay's Transformers film franchise as well.

Re: Cybertron Convention - Generations Scourge, Jazz, Thunderwing, PCC Dinobots and More Revealed!

It's a shame they didn't do as good a job with Scourge as they did with Cyclonus but think of it this way; at least they didn't mess him up as badly as they did Classics Galvatron!

Scourge is halfway between the absolutely awesomeness of Classics Cyclonus (I prefer the Henkei version) and Galvatron but he's closer to Cyclonus. His alt mode looks like the ship from Avatar but the robot mode is quite good.
I'll still buy him.

Jazz, Tracks and Grapple are definite buys too. They look really good. Add to them Thrust, Red Alert and Darkmount and Blurr and already Generations is looking every bit as good as Classics and is definitely carrying on the high standards of that line.

Whilst I think (of should I say hope) Takara Tomy willl definitely do a much better job with Generations Blurr's head, I don't think they could improve the other figures that much so I'll just buy the Hasbro versions next Spring.
I hope they get released in time for my birthday in March....
