This change won't increase its opening weekend take. Weekends only count over the--get this--weekend, with Monday holidays occassionally included.
ex: Pirates 3 opened early, but look at its totals: http://www.imdb.com/chart/. The early few days did not count toward the opening weekend.
Pirates only opened 4 hours earlier so that's 1 showing, but when the tally the totals they consider all days from when the movie opens until the following monday generally especially fourth of july becausee a lot of time people take extra days off so that it is in essence one big weekend. I just hope its an July 3rd opening in the daytime and not just a night showing because if it's showing during the day then I'll be damned if I am going to work that day. My ass will be firmly planted in that seat at the earliest possible time. And the ushers wll have to pry my fat ass out of that chair whith a crowbar
