Indeed. The humor doesn't turn me off but if I had to chose more robots over humor I'd chose robots any day. The scene of Ironhide, Optimus' toughest soldier, congratulating Skids and Mudflap came to mind because when you think of their childish antics and the fact that they are supposed to be a pair of kids, standing up to Devestator took balls of adamantium. I hope they aren't killed off in DotM. I perfer to develop an immature character into a mature one rather than arbitrarily kill them.

It's like those people on youtube who leave trolling comments about video's they hate. If you don't like Justin Bieber, or Lady Gaga, or whoever then don't watch their videos. It's like they have nothing better to do than look for something to complain about.

A great analogy that doesn't apply here at all. If you're on this site, you're a Transformers fan, you see. So we're not people who hate Transformers making negative comments, we're people who LOVE Transformers, and wanted to see it get a better adaptation on the big screen...who leave negative comments.

I was talking about the people who still insist on making negative comments in threads discussing RotF. Constructive criticism is fine, but trashing the movie without really saying anything 2 years after it came out is trolling. I was trying to tell Sly that like toutube commenters, it's best not to get worked up over it.

If people don't like something, they'll trash it. It's not trolling, it's having an opinion. And while we're at it, I don't know if you've read his posts, but Sly gets worked up over constructive criticism too.

That totally depends. This thread so far has been full of constructive criticism even from those who legitimately enjoyed the film. I've personally found a major difference between people who criticize a film negatively ("This film was pretty bad") and those who "trash" a film ("THIS MOVIE SUCKS AND YOU SUCK FOR LIKING IT!!!"). The latter almost always falls into trolling because one cannot hold a conversation with a rabid attacker, no matter which side of the fence they're on.

Your arguement also requires everyone who comments in Youtube/4chan/other less reputable sources of info and opinion to have seen a film/heard a song/etc. On such places bandwagon jumping is common, if not expected.

You want me to link you to Urban Dictionary? How about TVtropes? Wikipedia perhaps? How about Whatever Encyclopedia Dramatica is calling itself now? And to finish it off, Know Your Meme. Because GOOD GOD no one seems to know what the word means anymore.

Trolls aren't rabid attackers, they're intelligent attackers who know all of someone's personal buttons and the exact right order to push them. Just trashing something does not a troll make, trashing something in a way that excites a particular emotional response is. Saying "This sucks and you suck for liking it!" is not trolling (Or, at the very least, not skilled trolling), posting a long argument, primarily filled with half-truths and blatant lies, about WHY something sucks and you suck for liking it is trolling.

I know what a troll is. I also don't give them alot of credit no matter how well they can troll. The simple fact is most trolls on the subject at hand (RotF's quality) fall into the rabid attacker category. The only one I'd label as educated was Roger Ebert due to his lovingly typed blog entry about how those who like the film are horrible people. Mind you he doesn't think much better of Transformers fans in general.
