I canceled around $120 in pre-orders. I don't know how else to make my voice heard on the matter. BBTS is still my #1 online retailer, but something needs to be adjusted with this processing/warehousing/shipping delay.
Considering that there was a major blizzard that hit the country this week that affected the area between BBTS and you, this seems a little rash.Counterpunch wrote:I don't know how else to make my voice heard on the matter.
Have you tried contacting Joel directly to ask what's going on?

I am very disappointed to hear about these problems for a figure that costs so much. I remember reading that part of the reason why Takara is moving their manufacturing plants to Thailand is because of QC issues they've been having in China.
On a diffent note - has anyone received the soundbase that Rodimus stands on? I believe it is supposed to name the next MP figure.

I was under the impression it was coming with the final Masterpiece Prime.

That is correct

I thought it was a mail-in prize for the 2010 campaign. Collect 10 points by buying campaign product and you're done.

I think it's both. I think they realized that not everyone who wanted the stand was going to buy 10 points worth of TF's.

Counterpunch wrote:I got mine today. Nothing blatantly wrong with him. All parts are there in the right places. Nothing flying off, no panels flopping around. He does have one slight nick in his paint on the spoiler, but that's about it.
WeatherManNX01 wrote:I hate to spend more money than I already have, but I'm starting to consider getting the Hasbro version when it comes out. That is, pending video reviews to see if some of these problems have been corrected. If they have been, then I just might have to splurge on a second Roddy. I'm not one for having multiple instances of the same character (such as displaying both Hot Rod and Rodimus, as they can't physically exist at the same time), but if the quality of Takara is truly that shoddy, I just might have to do it. (I could just not get the Takara version, but a. it's already bought and paid for in my PoL and b. I really want that trailer!)

I've contacted BBTS on this kind of stuff before as stated above.
(and $120 is a drop compared to my spending over all there)
But all in all, I don't think I should have to go out of my way on this. They should be upfront about delays if they are going to have them.

Looks like I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't canceled any preorders, but I'm angry. I was polite, I was even soft in tone, but they dodged my question every which way. I'm thoroughly unimpressed by that.
I said I had a legitimate concern (and it's true), that I had heard that UPS has been delaying and rescheduling shipments, and I asked if I'd be affected by it, and I mentioned that my order's been sitting in the Warehouse for days now, waiting to ship.
I got an email that basically said "Sorry, I don't know, but you can contact UPS and ask them about it. Hoowever, our pickups have not been affected, our shipments are still going out as usual."
And I replied, kindly I might add, and said "I can't do that until my order ships and I receive a tracking number. Without it, UPS can't help me."
One last email from them said "Oh, I meant you could call them and see if your area is affected."
I decided to drop it there and wait for them to make a move. She evaded the question of when my item would ship, and made sure not to go back to that part of the email.
I'm understandably pissed. I'm not being a petulant child, I'm not being rude, I even waited a week before hitting the "SHIP MY LOOT NOW!" button, thus giving them time to catch up on preorders. My order should've shipped yesterday, and it should ship today, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't. I'll be pissed, but not surprised.

I have a similar situation happening now (again). I requested shipment on Friday and it's still in the warehouse.
I'm taking this to mean that the new norm for orders leaving their hands is approximately 5 days.
Setting everything else aside, 5 days plus shipping time is kind of a lot.

NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.
No defects, no warped parts, no double hands, no missing face, no floppy chest, no floppy back, no paint scuffing.
The transformation is difficult and requires a LOT of care. It has steps that you don't see and the feet are the biggest problem due to their stiffness.
I even crammed him into the Rodimus Prime alt mode and pulled it back out with force.
No scuffing, no paint scratches, all is well on the western front.
I can see how a lot of people who think they are careful with their toys will end up breaking parts on this. It IS tricky and there are things you have to learn and/or realign as you do the transformation. I think a lot of the negativity on this soured my experience unjustly. So, take that for what you will. The toy, er, collectible is fun. Waiting for the US release is going to get you an incomplete Rodimus.

Agreed. There's no reason for a domestic company to take this much time to process orders and ship items out. Now, if they were upfront about it, such as Digital-Toys is, I'd still be unhappy but I'd know ahead of time that I have no right to bitch about my situation.
ToyArena says 2-3 days, and they mean it.
BBTS, somewhere on their site, I believe says 2 days, and that's clearly not enough time for them to get their orders out, or something.
Don't get me wrong, I love BBTS, they've never done me wrong, but this is really grinding my gears.
