Agree with Sto_vo_kor - there would need to be a significant redesign in order to add heads. And for what ends? So we can have anime accurate heads on what are still less-than-stellar moulds? I think that would look worse than leaving them as they are.

If they were so signifigantly changed it wouldn't be a reissue anymore.

If they wanted actual heads, it's probably be a better idea to have heads that could "slot into" the seats.

Excelent, even if it's only stickers

. I have both of them pre-ordered on HobbyLink Japan for some time, but I had already bought the stickers from Reprolabels... Anyway, still good news as they'll probably have better quality than those from Reprolabels. And I know some people don't like this 2 odd G1 molds, but I love them and both characters!

It's great that they're being reissued finally as I've been wanting them for some time, but I don't like to get used stuff as it is really hard to get them impeccable and at good prices. And MISB vintage G1 toys... forget it... I'm not rich

. So, thanks Takara Tomy! And do more please! ^^

This will be a good compromise, if they can't remould the seats to include the head.

I like the idea of adding a head to fit into the seat slot as well. That way, you have the option to display the figure with the original sticker or with an anime accurate head.

Either way, I'm very excited to be getting Ratchet again. He was my first Transformer, and I've wanted a replacment for a long time.

I am real enthused about the Encore Ratchet and Ironhide. Real faces, bah. Reprolabels, bah. I'm using Mr. Yuk stickers on mine.

This is a very nice news. :grin:

Wonder if they will get new heads or labels. In either case its nice to see these two getting a "facelift"

after so many years (though new, anime accurate molds would be better!)

I know where there from but from what I remember hearing at Botcon they really didnt specify wether it Ironhide/Ratchet thing was going to be coming out of Takara or Hasbro.

I remembr the statement being a bit more general.....just saying that we would see something we've been wanting with the two characters but not who would be bringing it to us.

I dunno, it look like a new plastic head, but at the same time it looks somewhat fake...even so, I'll at least be buying Ironhide since I don't have him. I rather like the Upgrade Ratchet from Reprolabels though, it's definately better than the ugly face we got in '84...

I don't see the point of doing Encore Ironhide and Ratchet. These 2 should be totally redesigned.

Well, the point of the Encore reissues is to reissue 20+ year old figures. I don't see the point of reissuing the same figures every time a series of reissues comes out. Ratchet and Ironhide were put out a coupla' years ago by e Hobby, but I think this is their first wide scale issue since 1984. Other figures though, like Jazz and Starscream, why do they need to be reissued every time a set of reissues comes out?

As far as the redesigning is concerned, I don't think there's really a point in that either. Botcon Ratchet and Ironhide are about as excellent as any toys bearing those names can get.

I think they deserve updated designs.

While the botcon versions are quite awesome, being botcon exclusives they are pretty hard to get.

I'm hoping to see these characters redone in Classics 2.0. I'd be very happy if they did a wide release of the botcon versions, but those who bought the exclusives would be PO'd!!!

All this nagging about new head sculpts.Remember the TFC series, the minibot set had an anime/cartoon accurate Bumble head sculpt. No complaints there, I'll be satisfied if its an official label/sticker(though I already got the reprolabel upgrade.)
