This just keeps getting weirder.
Dear FP Core Members,
We just wanted to give you all an update on the progress of the Megazero disaster from a couple weeks ago. The manufacturer has informed us of a find in Korea that will help us keep our shipment schedule on track. Apparently several years after the release of the North American version of the Glacialbots, the release was made available to the Korean market.
Quoted here from a letter to our manufacturer, Korean warehouse workers that had been working with the manufacturer to hunt these down were gracious enough to allow us access to the entire inventory:
========
========
It was in a old abandoned distribution center just a few hours outside of Busan, that they discovered there were still some of these versions stored away.
Although featured in different packaging, this version of Megazero is exactly the same as it's North American counterpart and come complete with sticker sheets, instructions and accessories.
We have put a rush on the delivery of these and what this means is that Megazero will be shipped out with Tusker and Razorspike as originally intended.

Show of hands,whose buying this toy & why?
With all the 3rd party stuff that gets delayed then cancelled. I was hoping this would fall into this category. I was surprised to see FP release this after a lengthy hiatus.
Perhaps the best joke in this thread. was when someone called the Red Mammoth,Snuffleupagus,from Sesame street.

Pretty sure it's been a joke all along. The story was just too....weird to be true. (Of course, the world is full of stories like that...)

Yep, it was just a gag to promote the fact that this particular bot uses packaging which homages the Sonokong releases of Takara Transformers products throughout several lines from the past in South Korea.

I read the story & immediatley thought of the TFCC fiction & Takara BT,Alternity fiction.
The guys who created this probably figured out at the last minute,it won't sell. As hardly any import sites wanted this. This made up container story sounds like a desperate frustrated plea to get some buyers to buy this.

Did you read the responses you quoted? This whole project is one big homage to G1, including the packaging.

I know what this is,I've been following it from the start. I'm aware of the clever brick faux brick formers with the hidden articulation. I know about the art that makes it look like the boxes are damaged. I know about the Sono Kong box. I realize this toy scale was done to mimick a decades old toy.
I hardly would call this toy a G-1 homage. As it doesn't homage any decades old TF toy design,characters or media.

I'd enjoy modern versions of these figures as well.

But these are modern versions. as they were made recently.

"Finish my current collection." That's funny! I keep telling myself that I'm done buying Hasbro TFs, then the next batch comes along and I buy nearly, if not all, of them. Props to you if you can finish your collection!
