Got Motormaster, tranaformed him and... I dunno. Maybe I had built up too much dread, because he wasn't terribly hard.

Tricky, yeah. But not as insane as I thought. Also, Menasor is a great size and looks awesome. I have no regrets about this purchase.

Same here. I think it's cause I tend to always transform my 3rd party stuff tenderly since it's so hard to replace down the road if something happens.

Yeah. I treat mine pretty gingerly first time out, too. I guess I was expecting almost Impossible Toys Arcee levels of fragility. But overall... he wasn't that tight, and it only took me a half-hour to get them all combined. Admittedly I skipped the 'everything hanging off Motormaster' bit. :lol:

I got Diesel a few days ago and finally had time to transform him yesterday. Don't know how long it took (however long breaux man's two vids go for) and didn't touch the instructions.

He ain't bad, but to be honest, I think TFC do it better (except for their lack of integration). The transformation is stupidly complex for the size of the toy, but I don't feel it was nearly as bad as many were saying. The only reason my fingers were hurting during the transformation was because breaux man stuffed up at one point when explaining how to separate the gestalt trailer pieces and I stopped the video to figure it out myself.

Having to miss-transform Diesel's feet so he can stand properly because of the tabs is an annoyance, as is the scary waist and they way a number of tabs were designed. He really makes me want to transform him, but at the same time, makes me want to leave him alone for fear he will break :BANG_HEAD:

The integration is really good, seeing the gun pieces on the back of the trailer was a disappointment, but thankfully they can all fit inside so there are no leftover pieces anywhere.

I also don't think the plastic quality is as good as it could be. The entire FP Not-Stunticon set make Uranos feel like better value for money for some reason. Until completing this set I felt the $100 price point for the Uranos limbs was a little steep, but now it ain't so bad. The entire set just felt like it was $60 - $70 too much.

Well, I got mine today. I managed to get him into robot mode and then into combined mode, and I've yet to look at the instructions nor did I break anything. Although I will admit there were a few transformation joints that were a bit worrisome... but hopefully they shall loosen up a bit with use.

I haven't tried making him a truck again yet... Maybe I'll break out the instructions then... We'll see.

Just a shame that the Metroplex I'd ordered, which is what I was waiting for to ship Disel in the first place, arrived all sorts of damaged... Hopefully I can get him exchanged, although I'm a bit worried since he's out of stock at TFSource, so they may not have anything to exchange him with...

Thought I'd play with it a bit more. I did get him back into vehicle mode no problem, still without looking at the directions. Mind you, in the last month or so, I have watched a few video reviews, so it isn't like I haven't seen it transformed. But given everything everyone else has said about this guy, he's not the nightmare I was expecting.

For people who don't like left over pieces, but dislike the chunk that just gets plugged onto the back of the vehicle mode, I've found it can be stored in the gap between his middle pair of wheels. It may rattle around ever so slightly if you shake him, but it seems in there well enough that it doesn't fall out.

I then put him back into robot mode again, but unlike earlier I attached all of the extra bits and pieces. I'm a bit torn... He definitely looks nicer with the clean look of not wearing all of this... But this mode does work better in person then I thought it would have from photos, and it is nice to not have any left over pieces... Ah, well, I suppose he'll probably be in gestalt mode most of the time, anyway. But it is nice to know that this is a display option I won't be afraid to use.

Really, my only complaint thus far is the little car that also forms the vehicle mode's back wheels, can be a shield for Motormaster, or is Menasor's chest plate. Because of the tab that it uses to plug into the vehicle mode's bottom and Menasor's chest, it can't actually be used on its own as a little car. Fortunately, that is a minor complaint.

As if there haven't been enough comparison pics...

So, yeah, I guess my original scale assessment was correct, as far as vehicle mode. The best scaled OP is the crappy deluxe Generations version. I threw in PCC Huffer in case anyone had the PCC Stunticons and wanted a comparison. PCC Huffer's mold actually scales fairly decently with Diesel, if just a touch small.

Now, on to transforming him. I am going to set up a camera and take a ton of pics, because once I get this guy into MMM, he's staying there!

He is a great display piece. He's basically been on my shelf in combined mode since I got him.

I suppose it depends what you mean. Definitely not a kids toy. (Although I'd hope that goes without saying.) I've been having fun transforming and posing him. But he does take some patience and care, and more then one person has mentioned plans to just make Menasor and stick him on a shelf, forevermore untouched.

Me, he'll likely be Menasor most of the time. But that doesn't mean I won't ever touch him again or transform him between modes. (Right now, for example, he's a truck. I also broke up Bruticus, but then I had to go to bed last night. Suppose I'll do the same with Devestator now, and maybe post a pic of all of the vehicles together once I'm done.)

Combiner vehicle modes!

You've got to give the Stunticons credit, they're pretty consistent scale-wise with one another. The Constructicons almost pull it off, but they are just a wee bit off. And, of course, the Combaticons... yeah... I shan't even bother elaborating...

But if you ignore the inherent (and unavoidable) scale issues with the Constructicons and Combaticons, then I think they all look quite good together.

Word. Appreciate the info Yotsuyasan! Might get UT Predaking and Galvy before this purchase then. I'm gentle enough with my figs, but every new initiate that makes it home gets an intense week of coffee table fiddling before they're stationed with their respective factions.
