Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea. Most of that shoulder region is obstructing the view of the spoiler/wing. I wonder if there is enough room there to fold it down. Of course I still don't think it would be that hard to include a wing extension or just a brand new wing to install.

I know it kinda sucks, but if you pull out on the red piece on his back a little, it'll bring the spoiler pieces higher up... just rotate the spoilers pieces up and down after you pull the back piece out some... Probably look fine looking from the front but suck from the side... I could probably live with that...

Back when the first blurry prototype picture surfaced last August, I emailed them and asked which Hot Rod was its color scheme being designed for and they replied:

Regarding the spoiler/wing thing, I am surprised Fansproject did not just replace the two wings with new parts that would integrate better into their trailer, and stand higher on the robot mode. The parts do just snap in and out of Hot Rod's back after all.

Yeah, I thought the exact same thing. I e-mailed them about that idea (of replacing the wing for robot mode).

One of my favorite parts about this upgrade: the way FP has managed to mold the exhaust pipes onto the add-on, and then sculpt flames coming out of them to boot! Looks awesome.

Can't wait.

I agree, the molded pipes and flames are totally badass. Can't wait to see it in color.

The idea of some add-on wings for Rodimus is good, I'm also suprised they didn't consider it.

I'm so excited for this I decided to get my Reissue Rodimus Prime out of storage.

it looks good, too bad I don't have a Classics or Henkei Rodimus.

Does anyone else think that the gun emplacement thing looks a bit like the launcher from TF:TM? Maybe Warbot Defender will have better things to do tonight.

. I owe everything they have put out except for D.I.A. Looks great can’t wait for colored pics. Gun station is so so, I get the G1 homage, but wish they could have used more of the trailer for armor.

Yes. The molds for the Hasbro Classics version and the Henkei version are one and the same. It's merely a color scheme change that differentiates the two.

And the Target exclusive in Anime colors will also work with it. It may not look as good as the other two, with the armor, but yes, it too will work.

Thanks for the heads up about this Counterpunch, i do have both versions of Hotrod and I'll user the Hasbro version, while the Henkie will stay in plastic sleep chamber..

This is now in the wrong section isn't it? Although it's so nice it makes me wish Hasbro would make it a legit part of the TF Universe.

I wish that it would come with a Matrix, but that may be too much to hope for. They said before that they want to avoid using designs that match up too closely with HasTak's official ones.

I kinda wonder which figure FP will make this work with. Obviously either will do, but they might wanna integrate the spoiler into the flames and those spoiler extentions.

I think it pre-dates the 3rd party section in terms of its first news link. Moving it now would mess up news feeds, etc.

Thanks for that DM, I had never seen it. It looks great, and will be a nice Christmas present for me! I am interested to see if the targetmaster they are talking about is included, or are they talking about G1 Firebolt or Universe Nightstick. I still have my G! Firebolt, so he will hopefully fit in Protector's fist.

I think I was standing nearby when that video was being shot, I remember seeing that guy with the little wing exstensions in that plastic ziploc bag talking about it.. Honesty this makes me drool, Rodimus/Hot rod was always my favorite character and this is like totally awesome to see something like this getting made..

Does anyone else get the feeling that the Classics 3-Pack coming out a few months (hopefully) before the Protector might be Hasbro realizing the cross market sales? It seems like a mighty huge coincidence that they reissue a now 4 year old mold for no apparent reason at this time.

I see the new Roller at the bottom of the gunstand. If you look where the small wheels are, it is shaped like the roller form the G3 Trailer. Because the proto is all gray you can't tell, but in that vid I can see where roller is.
