Except he'd be called Blowpipe. I wonder, are the PCC molds off-limits too?

I think my guess is by far the best. A G1 truck that has yet to be updated.

Er, let me introduce you to to
Image and his body-style twin
ImageI liked the PCC Huffer, but not well enough to trump the Classics/Convention figure.

Huffer and Pipes are covered.

Honestly, my first thought was Energon Rodimus, though he doesn't qualify for "Never had a remake". The RTS Prime mold would make a nice redeco of Rody Major' dragster semi though...

Despite being a different character fiction-wise, Energon Rodimus counts as an update to the general Rodimus/Prime character.

Previous club fiction has already had Gobots showing up in the Transtech and Classicsverses (Bugbite and the ehobby crew), so there's already story hooks there for a Gobot themed set, maybe with some obscure G1 themed add ons.

Betcha.
NQ Super Convoy is a good guy, though. He's Convoy/Optimus just wearing a protective black coating.

Plus, any black repaint of that mold that isn't a mass retail release would tick off the fandom so hard it'd be like BotCon 2007 all over again.

The repaint in question has to be a decepticon? I dont remember reading that. Nucleon and its side effects were an ongoing theme in the comic which abruptly ended at 80. Funpub wont release anything Hasbro intends on releasing. Im sure if Hasbro said they werent releasing RID Scourge, Funpub wouldve been on it, as its a license to print money. I still stand by my statement, and expect a Scourge reveal at the Hasbro panel.

Well, not specifically a Decepticon, but the ad did say "An enemy thought defeated". So, we figure this Optimus repaint may be that enemy.

Yes, but Nucleon Quest Super Convoy hails from the Japanese G1 cartoon continuity, not the Marvel G1 comics continuity.

Oh I don't doubt that if there were to be a Scourge redeco Hasbro would be the ones to do it. That's for sure. After all, BotCon's Twitter reassured us that they (FunPub) aren't doing RiD Scourge. ;)

I dunno, to me, it came across as the plural sense of the word "enemy", as in the surviving decepticon army at that point. Bludgeon and crew. Not that I expect a Bludgeon repaint, but if they DID, I hope they use that Unicron deluxe from Cybertron.

Thats true. Nucleon Quest was Japanese G1, but that doesn't mean Funpub couldn't try to tie it in. I can't find the source, but I remember reading Furman saying that originally, Nucleon was supposed to effect each Transformer differently, and those side effects for each autobot were supposed to be focused on after issue 80. Optimus wasn't one of the autobots that juiced up. Thats what leads me to believe he might be the last hope.

Issue 80 may have been the end of the series, but not the end of the story. The story continued in the G2 comics. We see what became of Bludgeon and his crew there. And there's also the Classics comics which also take place post-Marvel G1. And then there's Issue 81 that IDW's having Furman write. So, the story after issue 80 has already been continued twice, and is continuing again soon for a third time. Does it really need a fourth?

I hope you guys are right that it isn't RID Scourge, and that Hasbro will do it instead.

But where and how did FunPub deny it?

Botcon: The Faux Rage! BC Newsflash... We are doing RID Scourge for BotCon 2012...

Botcon: is what a LOT of people are thinking based on the ad that is in the current issue of Transformers Timelines Issue 6.

Botcon: However, it is still a BIT early to discuss the theme for 2012. That and location will be available as absolutely soon as we can announce.

Botcon: All that said, whoever we are doing are characters Hasbro is NOT planning on doing. So, there is no need for any rage...

Bullycon: Translation: Not Scourge.

Botcon: @Bullycon You'd be surprised who they are and are not planning ;)

Bullycon: If Hasbro doesn't mass release Scourge, I think the fans would rage.

Botcon: Like with Classics Nemesis Prime and Alternators Nemesis Prime? ;)

That still sounds ambiguous to me....

The two bolded statements put into a single statement imply that fans are assuming it and implies that it's not true.

Well, yes and no. Technically, "Another Time and Place" marked the conclusion of the US G1 continuity. I don't know if I'd consider Marvel G2 comics a continuation, rather 12 issues to support a new toy line. G2 Swipe? They don't even address Nucleon. At the end of the G1 run, Grimlock seizes up and loses his ability to transform, and yet, at his first appearance in G2, he is fully functional with his T-Rex alt mode intact. "Another Time and Place" explains this, as well as how anyone with this "legendary power" could retain the ability to transform. Funpub was actually the third incantation of G2, so I dont think a third version of Nucleon fueled G1 is out of the realm of possibility. Also, Hasbro seems to have been working very closely with IDW. Take a look at Drift, Blurr, Perceptor, Kup... These guys are GREAT and have a flair of IDW in them. From a marketing perspective, if Funpub have the ability to make toys that are about to be released into a mainstream comic line... well, that would just be a huge profitable success.

Forgot about ATaP, but that serves mostly as a dead end to the Marvel G1 series. G2, Classics, and #81-100 are continuations.

In ATaP, Prime speaks of a stronger, growing, new breed of decepticon. That sounds like more of a platform than a dead end. I think they can build off of it. I can't figure out anything else that has so many similarities to the clues they gave.
