Really? With the sole exception of Frenzy, I think these 'bots and 'cons fulfill every aspect and definition of Transformers.
And Godzilla '98 rocked. It was a Godzilla movie that didn't look like a middle school theatre club made it.
There was a point when I seriously revered your taste and thought People underestimated your taste and intelligence. Sorry to say that moment has passed.

I don't think one of his companies would make a design for somebody else that would infringe copyrights.Saber Prime wrote:This just in, Bay's new movie "Transformers" has been canceled due to law suit by George Lucas.
Don't you wish that was real?

I love it when someone other than a Mod/Admin/Owner tells someone to leave like they run the joint, it's funny. But seriously, neither of us are goin' anywhere, so let's deal with it. I stated, basicly, you've got nothing positive to say what so ever. I've read the majority of your posts, and even in threads that have absolutly nothing to do with the film, you manage to slam it. You are most definately entitled to your opinion, I never said you weren't. I just gets old hearing all the negativity, that's what ruins disscussions about the movie. Yeah, you hate it, we all get it. Is it gonna change anything? No. Do I like everything with the movie? No. But I got over it. Yeah this is something new, yeah some of the designs suck ass, but whatever. It's not ruining anything for me yet, I'll wait til I see it in action before I pass final judgement.Ironhidensh wrote:

Man, normally I agree with ya, but not on this. I couldn't headbutt a brick wall enough to forget how bad Godzilla '98 was.

Well put D. Everyone is entitled and welcomed to express your opinions here. But like most any other place on earth, if you can't do it with respect for others then you'll be asked to leave. There are lot of people on this board that can state there distaste for the movie without crying all over their keyboards, and those are the ones that can support a valid and enjoyable debate on what ever it is they are talking about. I'm not telling anyone to jump on the bandwagon or get off the road, all I'm asking is that people maturely address the situation with out the "OMFG, THAT'S IS TEH SUXZORZ!1!1!!111!" that can ruin what could be a solid statement from someone intellegent.
As for the Godzilla part, to tell you all the truth, I've never in my life seen a Godzilla Movie. It never appealed to me as a kid and to this day doesn't make a statement to me. Oh well, my loss I'm sure. If I were to watch one, which would you all recommend? (No one get angry when Ironhidish recommends the '98 version, ok? )

At least the 98 one had something that looked "real" versus the obvious "man in rubber suit" of every other incarnation. The plots... what plots? Godzilla fights an equally ridiculous monster, or destroys a city. In the 98 movie the destorys a city.
I think the older movies fit into the Mystery Science Theater category. The 98 was "trying to make a silly idea seem serious" sort of like the recent King Kong... and another movie coming out in July

It looked like a Godzilla movie made by a couple Hollywood hot-shots with no respect or admiration for the property and a $150 million budget.

Except you didn't factor in one HUGE aspect: Suspension of disbelief.
We have a giant mutant lizard. Of course. It's not necessarily evil, just looking for a home, and it unfortunately picked a spot where people shoot it.
With suspension of disbelief, that works out good.
But if you start to add more monsters, suspension of disbelief doesn't work out well. You can't explain both Godzilla and a bunch of other monsters without getting boring.
If they did a sequel, that would've worked excellently. They explained that Godzilla had one surviving child. It would've worked if Mothra or someone else came and it became a fight between Godzilla and another monster in a fight for territory, with the military trying to kill them both.
And the CGI looked way better than a craptastic rubber suit on a cardboard city.
