When I first saw Bumblebee, I had changed my mind and wanted to pick him up. Now, I'm back to not wanting him. Too playskool'ish. I never liked Prowl. So, looks like only Megatron and Optimus, at this point.

I thought toys like Armada Smokescreen, Armada Sideswipe, Armada Overload or Energon Wing Saber were much worse.

For instance, I feel that these toys are far more comparable to Fast Action Battlers than they are to any main line in the past few years.

I have Animated Prime, Bumblebee and Lockdown myself. I can't see how you can even remotely compare them to the inarticulated bricks that for the most part are FABs that transform into 3 steps at the most. Like the reviewer is pointing out, Bumblebee's transformation is pretty much on par with movie figures. Prime and Lockdown are pretty good in the transformation department as well. And they're all very well articulated. It's one thing to dislike the look, but to pretend they're under-engineered is just being ignorant.

First off, I like how you threw a little insult in there at the end. That was a nice touch.

That distraction from the discussion aside, I never even really considered the transformation of either Animated or FABs. The point is that comparing movie Bumblebee to FAB Bumblebee, it becomes obvious what audiance those toys were directed at. The same thing goes for a comparison between Cybertron Prime and Animated Prime.

ah, i thought it could be that but i was trying to figure out what liking/not liking a show had to do with liking/not liking toys which are two totally different entities.

i like a toy for its own merits alone, maybe some people need to like a cartoon first and then buy a toy, i dont understand that. its a bit like when somebody says i hate classics 2 pack megatron/prime but i have to buy them because I love 2 packs! or i hate movie megs but have to buy it because megs is my favourite decepticon, seems a waste of money to me.

I enjoyed the TF movie but I dont like the toys, except for jazz, who i bought.

Master Blaster is right. If I do not like the show, why would I buy a product that reminds me of the show I don't like? I loved the movie and I thought the toys were great. I bought tons of stuff since the movie came out. With this series, my money can rest until Classics 2.0 come out.

Hasbro doesn't care about scale, they just want to make the figures big enough to fit the boxes right.
This not badass. It's so BAD, it's ASS!

Can't care less for shows (edit : when I'm buying robots). I hated A-E-C, but I bought the toys anyway. Bad writing doesn't make bad toys.

Megatroptimus, it might have been a simple objective observation, except for the fact that I said nothing about the toys being under engineered and I didn't comment on their complexity. In fact, I was only commenting on the difference between who the lines are targeted towards.

They indeed lack paint. It looks like every fig is limited to 3 colours.

The more I see the more I want these Animated toys. They look great.

What I noticed is that compared to the movie toys, especially in that shot of the classics, animated, and movies figures next to each other, is how much "personality" the figures have. Say what you will about the artistic look of the show, but the fact that these look so much like the their show counterparts is good. They have a look to them that makes them stand out, you really get the sense that they are different characters. When I look at the movie Bumble Bee, other than his color scheme, it could pass as just about any other bot.

Memo to Hasbro:

These need to hit the stores already. Dont let the shelfs remain cluttered with lame movie repaints, get these out to the stores to help support the show!

Word. Although most of the Animated figures are readily available on Ebay for pretty decent prices (most of them $30 shipped), I'm trying to wait so I have something to buy in stores when they come out. I only got 3 (Prime, Lockdown and Bumblebee) so far to get a taste of the line, but the minute they're out, I'll jump on Prowl and Starscream (okay, all the others too) in a snap. Prowl looks intriguing, I still can't figure out how he transforms except for the arms.

How about a late March release?

The more I see of the Animated toys, the more I like them; the designs are just gorgeous.
It doesn't look like BB comes with the faceplate that he has in the cartoon though, which is a shame- he looks really cool when he uses it in Nanosec.

Both of these are a must buy for me.

I'm really digging the show. That's something I have not done in a LOOOOOONG time with TF shows.

I like the engineering that appears to have gone in o them, especially Prowl.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
