some of us may remember the first day the transformers dvds first hit store shelvers and the store promotions long storey short is fye transformers tin case dvds really a promotional offer once there sold out they cant order them anymore no matter how many times you ask an employee at fye stores or are they really able oder more of them after all.?

reason im asking is when i first picked up the tin casses version all they had at my fye store near me was the decepticon cases all the autobot versions where sold out when i looked for them
i asked an employee if there getting anymore sales acoicate they wont be getting more in the store anymore it was just a promtional thing once there sold out ther sold out cant get anymore cases in to restock.

i went back today looking for the xmen evolution dvd complete animated series what do i see brand new sealed wraped in plastic transformers autobot and deceptocon logo tin cases dvds restocked ready to be sold any one else besides me confused about this?

it makes sense now why the alrm went off when i walked out the cashier forgot to scan the transformers dvd i cant scan the recipt to prove i got it today

I used to work in the retail field as an inventory manager responsible for inventory control and ordering most of the store supplies.
I can't place a number on the times I've been asked the same question even by other store employees but at least in my stores that I've worked for when promotional offers or limited editions run out at first they mean it because they will serve no purpose but to anger the customers if they feel they've been lied to and there was actually another 50 million of them in the back of their own stores warehouse or waiting to be shipped out to local stores from some other warehouse.

Limited editions or special offers mean just that, they are essentially a test to see how well it will sell in the market because they simply did not manufacture enough to keep the stores shelves covered for months at a time.

In the case of the transformers movie nobody really knew how well it would do, it was essentially a big gamble and like anything it could have gone either way but I had confidence in it regardless.

EDI or electronic data interface can be transmitted in minutes or seconds these days and all the information regarding sales of the transformers dvd sales was available shortly after it was released back in october so most likely they collected that data or maybe even did research online to see what version most people liked and made another production run, I know that was a very popular version too.
