Making a cape and crown seems a lot easier than the other two...charge us $20 for something that takes $1.50 to make and they'll make out like bandits

It would be nice. Though you'd think JustItoys would've done it by now. But...that's not to say they're not working on it...I mean they are currently working on WST Swoop and Sludge. Not to mention, they just finished the first three Dinobots, and Megatron's upgrade kit. I'd say they've got their hands full. lol
I'm still holding out for hope, they might just surprise us.
A bit more news (and for Zatara's sake, and everyone else's...this is not guaranteed, this was a different department manager's idea, one that none of us had thought of.)
There's another reason why the UPC might not be showing in their computers right now.
They could be using their own.
Remember when the Preview Figures came with a poster? Well if you look at the bottom of your package, you'll see the UPC is a sticker and the number on it is changed by one or two digits, from the Hasbro original. It helped to record when they were sold (not supposed to be before June 2nd.) and how many of the poster bearing ones had sold.
Well, they can do that for Black Friday Blitz items, and Special items.
The woman in the electronics deparment said they put their own UPC codes over many sale items or 2-for-1's because the computer can instantly register the deal for the cashier instead of having to ring up both items, etc. She then said that if he is a special item, or due on a special day, etc, he very well could have a replaced UPC code for the length of it's debut and the sale/day, whatever. She said if that's the case, then it definitely would be a solid reason as to why the current UPC doesn't show in the computer.
She also said, once they go through the items with a replaced barcode, then will then use the O.E.M UPC that comes printed directly on the package.
So...that doesn't help us figure out when he's coming, how he's coming, but it does help explain why might not be able to find his UPC at the current time.
So here's a question (not a bunch of guesswork to promote hysteria, etc. A legitimate question.)...
If they did replace his UPC with one of their own...what does it mean?
A.) A special buy (as mentioned by a poster on TFans, something we hadn't thought of before. This is why he wouldn't show up on a mod, he'd show up on a pallet display or something like it. They don't require a mod spot.)
B.) A special BFB price (NOTE: I didn't say debut this time, I said price. Just because Hasbro says $59.99, doesn't mean Wal-Mart will adhere to it. Heck, they undercut themselves even, last year. They sold Panasonic TV's for $100's less than what they paid, but they ended up doing a better business by the sheer volume sold. Maybe they'd lower Starscream's price for BFB if he's even a part of it, which I'm not saying he is.)
C.) He could be packaged with something else (I have no idea at this point, but maybe the single disc version of the Movie? Another T.E.C.H. exclusive? ...wow those suck, btw.)
I dunno if any of this will come into play, but "A" definitely seems feasible. I doubt "B" will come to fruition because they'd only be cutting his price for a day (heck, only a morning, not even half a day!) and that's an awful lot of work to have the Toy Associates take every 'Screamer figure and slap on a UPC sticker. (Could you imagine the monotony?!) Besides, at the end of the sale...the sticker would have to be removed so the register records it correctly!
"C"...eh, that was more of a shot in the dark. That one, was pure guesswork on my part. It's a possibility, at least. *shrugs*
So it looks like he might simply be a special buy with a replaced or not entered (at the present time) UPC. He may not be related to BFB sales at all. (which let me make clear, I never ever once said he was, just the possibility of such a thing.)
I told her it was due in November and she said "Oh yeah, we do a lot of special buys during the fall months like that, in time for Christmas. If he's due in November, I'd say you're gonna see him either the third or fourth week. We already know what's coming for the first two weeks of November and if the Toy Manager knows nothing about it right now, then it's definitely a late week item." She then went on to say that late week means last of the month.
So this is good news people. He's coming, and it's just a matter of being patient.
If I find anything else, you'll be the first ones to know!
