I thought logic was banned from these forums :P
I thought this was all guesswork and paranoia?!?
Now don't get me wrong, I am very impatient, but damn, you people are down right jumpy.
Everyone freaked out the same way about Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus and the Fallen, and I sure as hell found them in stores.
Not trying to insult anyone's hard work or time taken, but just sit tight and wait for the real answer.
zatara1701 wrote:You guys are getting paranoid!!!
I truely doubt this is a Black Friday exclusive...retailer like Walmart use $20 DVD players, $200 computers, and MAYBE $5 DVD's to get people in NOT a $60 Transformers MP figure.
We've just been waiting SOOOOoooo long for this and with the experience with the rest of hte line this summer, ya'll expect the WORST...which I can't blame you. Anyways, the logistics of all this should make you look on the brightside.
1) Being in retail I have dealt with reps and managers...as much as we'd like to think they know SOMETHING, they in fact 99% of the time know Jack ****. I work in retail, so I am speaking from experience...especially since some of the infered details are from a Walmart manager, sheesh, they know less than their employees that walk away from you.
2) Hasbro has to license this mold from Tomy/Takara. That costs WAY TOO MUCH $$$ to limit how many Starscreams they'll produce...case and example, 20th Anniversary Prime. Hasbro paid a pretty penny for the mold and materials and that's why you see shelves full of them now (although you didnt see them a whole lot when they hit)
Bottomline....QUIT BEING SO NEGATIVE!!!
Yes, some one could infer that it was a Black Friday item, but at the same time simply look at the two facts I put down you can infer the opposite. From a business stand point, what I am saying makes way more sense, and business is all of what Walmart and Hasbro are about.
Do what you feel you need to do to get one, but I am not going to break my neck untill SS breaks in the stores. I think there will be plenty (maybe limited at first like Prime) but patience will win out. There will be PLENTY to go around...just be patient and dilegent in your hunt.
zatara1701 wrote:PS- We havent seen as many of these on Ebay for one good reason. Look at how big the package is!!
Do you think anyone could sneak an ENTIRE CASE out the door without someone noticing??? This isnt a Voyager we're talking about, it's a MP.
Once again...logic prevails...thanks Mr. Spock

Didn't you ever see the Chi Chi's commercial with the guy pumping free salsa through his sleeve and into his chambered coat??? Never underestimate him!!!
If I were to try and pull off something like this, that is the guy I would hire.
Seriously though ... why preorder? He is going to be EVERYWHERE!!! It's called ... patience, not pay-shunce. Who the hell is shunce anyway? He must be the guy with all the G1 MP-SS's.

Last year Target had the Imperial shuttle released on BF for $60. The last time this ship was released -it was an FAO schwarz excl. for $100-120 bucks. This year more of the same, the new battle packs at Target for BF (which haven't been confirmed -no one's talking) are the Battle of Hoth and Battle of Endor, both of these come with a boatload of figures and vehicles and they're both $50. It's hasbro, so I can easily see them doing this with the MP SS at walmart. I don't know about #s, how limited, but I'm definitely goin pretty early to walmart to make sure i get one. I live in scalper central LA - these guys have deep pockets & I wouldn't put it past them to screw everybody & buy em all.

It's OCTOBER 22, 2007 today....that leaves a little more than a month till Thanksgiving. That's 30 days where SS could show up (based on a November release according to Botcon I think).
You guys should just settle down, be patient, and chill the F out!! And you guys feeding this paranoia should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
Black Friday is one of MANY scenarios for SS...in my opinion it's the least likely... but there are TOO MANY scenarios that dont involve BF to grab onto this ONE possibilty and discount all others.
Chill out, be zen and SS will be yours. I'll make sure I post a happy, non stressed, worry free pic of me and SS when we are together after coming home from the store in a week or twothe rest of ya'll can have a heartattack as you see it still worrying about Black Friday.
vectorA3 wrote:like i said, you may not get an answer if they want to keep this quiet (like the SW toys) & be a BF item. Either way, I'm excited b/c I never got a G1 SS when i was a kid and always wanted one. Now, i'm getting the definitive version!! Kickass!!!!

This is STARSCREAM! I love him!
Heh. Now that I got THAT out of my system. AlienQuiksilver, you speak a harsh harsh truth. It's just so hard to wait when it's something you really really want.
zatara1701, you also make sense. It would make a lot more sense for Hasbro to want to sell as many SS as possible. I think what is throwing so many people into a panic is how difficult information is find on MP SS. He's not in store inventories. He isn't in any paperwork stating when the other Transformers will be released. There is almost NO information. I know that's freaking me out.

Like I said previously, I'm prepared to get burned on this. I've made bigger lapses in judegment before and I can most certainly afford this one too. Preordering SS is cheaper than my divorce.
As for the mention of G1 Titanium UM, I would have liked him but, despite being in Walmarts and Targets ALL over the Atlanta area, I never saw one. I also never saw Alternators Ravage or Rumble when they were released. However, I genuinely hope for everyone's sake that I'm wrong here and that there are lots of Starscreams to go around.

I know you are kinda responding to my point that BF isnt about $60 action figures...You are overlooking one big point though. It's not the price so much as it is the production logistics.
Star Wars is made by Hasbro FOR Hasbro. Hasbro has to buy rights for Tomy/Takara molds like MP Starscream. It would be financially irresponsible to buy a mold then use it in a LIMITED capacity....especially at the discounted price point vs the Takara SS AND it's only going to Walmart. Hasbro will want to make the most $$$ they can out of this deal.
As for those SW exclusives...here in Houston I still saw them in January after they were released to the stores.
Everybody needs to quit freaking out. Come spring the shelves will be rampant with MP SS an Ultimate Bumblebees...if I get them on clearence all the better.

if hasbro wants to make as much $ as possible off the mold, then we should be seein a lot of these. Esp. if you consider that Walmart is probably #1 or 2 in toy sales. We are in panic mode -this happens with SW toys too, distribution has been terrible with them lately

If TF fans can't speculate about releases then what good is this thread. Now, if the "fervor" bothers you so much that you have to post and tell people to chill out then don't read the thread. Autobot032 has taken the initiative to get info and share it with us, which is far better than some of the people that are "purely" speculating. Heck, its no secret that I dont get along with Autobot032, but I know he would never lie about info like this, and I respect him for giving Hasbro and other retailers hell. If I had the hottest toys, I would have a BF release for some of them... the hype alone is worth it. Some companies even push items back till January to make 1st quarter profits look good. Almost every company has a good 4th quarter since spending is usually at its highest.

Meanwhile, I've been waiting for my backordered, full-price 20th Prime from BBTS since it was arriving in August (WHERE IS IT?!), and everyone's talking about getting them for 20-50 bucks.
If my Wal-Mart is as flaky as it is normally with MP SS, I'm never going to get one. Ever. And that pisses me off, because MP SS is a figure I really f*cking want.
