Are you planning on going the whole nine yards and breeding/raising/racing your Chocobos and getting the Knights of the Round—and possibly even defeating the final two Weapons?

I'm probably going to get KotR later on. I'm at least going to kill Ultimate Weapon, I dunno about the others.

Guess that wasn't the last mission. Oh well. Anyway, made my decision and tracked Dimitri down to a cargo ship. Blasted my way through dozens of goods until it was just me and Dimitri in the cargo hold. It was probably overkill to bring a rocket launcher to a gunfight, but it definitely made Niko look more intimidating during the cutscene. In either case, Dimitri got a rocket to the brain.
In celebration, Took Kate to Roman's wedding. Too bad Jimmy didn't agree with me screwing over his deal with Dimitri and set up a drive-by. Kate ufortunately didn't survive it. I get the feeling a revenge mission is next up.

I don't know about everyone else, but if I knew a spell that turned me into a fairy, I wouldn't tell too many of my friends about it.

Kicked ass at Fort Condor...I would have to beaten all those Spartans at Thermopylae.

Went through Cloud's broken, splintered mind, which was surprisingly devoid of anything a normal man traveling with Tifa would think. Fixed his memories; Cloud was at Nibelheim, despite Sephiroth's claims to the contrary (Sephiroth is, as you may recall, a jerk), but up until saving Tifa and fighting Sephiroth in the Mako Reactor was taken from Zack, (Probably just before Zack's death, with Jenova cells) probably in an attempt to make himself feel better about his life.

Got a submarine, and met Sephiroth's mom. It's hard to believe Lucrecia, who is hot, would do the act with Hojo, who is very unpleasant looking. This probably did not make Vincent very happy.

BEATEN! Safer Sephiroth ended just...abruptly. I had thought the fight was going to go on much longer, but then Vincent, in Chaos form, used one of his attacks, ending the fight before I could even get Yuffie to heal up Cloud.

I didn't get Knights of the Round (Though I heard that it makes the final battle more difficult), but I at least beat Ultimate Weapon, and I'm glad I did; not only was the monster not difficult at all, but Cloud's Ultima Weapon just does crazy-huge damage.

Hey...part of the ending medley is from FF1. Huh.

I'm gonna go watch Advent Children...maybe try to find a cheap copy of FF8.

GAME.OVER!
Pegorino has paid for what he took from me. plus I got to pilot an army helicopter for all of 20 seconds. Oy...

I enjoyed this game, but I'm really torn on how to rate it. The story is excellent and would have been great as a movie script or series. The problem is, this isn't a movie or TV series. It's a game. And there were very long stretches where I was just playing to complete the game and get it over with rather than because I was enjoying it.
All in all, I felt I got my money's worth but this is not a game I'm in any rush to play through again. For pure enjoyment, I'll probably reinstall GTA:San Andreas before I play this again.

I have to say I miss a lot of the little side-missions that were in previous games. This game had vigilante missions, but the taxi mission, pimping mission, firefighter missions, etc added a lot to the previous games. I definitely miss the character customization and evolution features such as increased accuracy and skill for using weapons a lot or getting more skill for driving by driving. It was just another reason to play more. GTA:SA > GTA4

Conquered this timeless classic tonight. Got lost in the final palace a couple of times and had to bust out my Nintendo Game Atlas for help, it's definitely been a while. I love the final battle with Link's shadow, and I think it was stellar of Nintendo to include a stage in Smash Bros. Melee where you can fight him again. All in all, this is still my favorite Zelda game.

Playing this one again. You can never have too much Snake.

Particularly, in the opening TV sequence (Where you can watch several channels), I particularly watched an interview with none other than David Hayter, who said he had just got off the set of a movie, when questioned about his strange attire; he was wearing a strange combat uniform, and, much more notably, a Solid Eye system. (He said he could get TV on it, and was watching a baseball game during the interview) He was also unshaven, and his resemblance to Snake was just astounding.

I think that's a reference to the Metal Gear movie they're making.

Currently on Act 1: Liquid Sun.

Saved Naomi, with a little help from Raiden, and Raiden's ability to make Gray Fox look like a pansy.

Now on Act 3: Third Sun. Some real film noir, trench-coats-and-dark-alleys stuff is happening. It looks nice, but it's not my favorite mission. (It takes stealth much more seriously than any other mission in Metal Gear) My favorite mission comes next, though.

Me, Grimlock! wrote:You make me cry every time I play this because I can't. Is it really as fantastic as they say? I'm going to live vicariously through you if you don't mind.

It...really is. There's a few things that have changed that need to be adapted to, mostly the new camera and aiming system. I got used to the camera immediately. The new aiming system requires to first hold L1 to ready and aim the gun (By default it's over-the-should, but pushing Triangle puts it in first-person), and R1 to fire the main weapon, and R2 for the secondary fire. (If the weapon has one).

The story is your typical MGS fare; highly complex, several ridiculous scenarios, a few jokes here, a few minutes of crying like a baby there. There are literally hundreds of callbacks to previous games, both in the form of Flashbacks (By repeatedly pushing X when prompted during cutscenes, you'll get a few brief pictures from other MGS games), and an entire mission taking place at Shadow Moses.

EDIT:

Completed Act 4: Twin Suns. Went back to Shadow Moses. Had some laughs, walked down memory lane, made vague references to Otacon pissing himself. Surprisingly, much of the base is left intact, too bad you can't visit half of it.

Best of all, I got to pilot Metal Gear REX...alright, so it has really rough controls to work out. But at least I beat Metal Gear RAY with it...which is weird, considering RAY was billed as a Metal Gear "designed to wipe the floor with all the other models" and I just kicked its ass with a ten-year-old model left to rust and with half it's major components destroyed.

Also, a quick thign Raiden did that made him totally awesome: Trapped under rubble, he cut off his arm so he could go help Snake, who was about to get run over by Liquid's massive battleship.

Think about that: He cut off his own arm so he could go fight a battleship. And he stopped it with his bare hand. And he survived. Somewhere, Grey Fox is highly impressed. (And horribly jealous)

Depends on playing style. Things like time spent in game, amount of saves, number of deaths, weapon stats, etc. change the codename. But you've been playing 'em long enough to know that. :-B

Hey, at least you're consistent, eh?

The first playthrough I did a lot of killin' and got the codename Tarantula. (I only ever get the cool codenames, accidentally) This time (and usually every other MGS game) I paid more attention to the Mosin Nagant and MK.2 non-lethal weapons, as well as the stun feature on the knife (It's both Knife AND taser. Awesome), saving my lethal weapons for enemies like tanks and Gekkos.

Scorpion requires a relatively small number of deaths, kills, and alerts. (Don't be impressed, I usually only play on Easy) So the Mk2, which has a built-in silencer, comes in handy, while the Mosin Nagant (A tranq sniper rifle) is useful for bosses and areas where the loud noise will go unnoticed. (Such as boss battles, or battles between Rebels/Militia and PMCs)

Nyah!

Also took some pictures of the B&B Unit because...I mean, really, the option is there. If they didn't want me to use it, they wouldn't have added it!
