Sons of liberty. Too many questions. I Accept the basis of it: Its a simulation manipulated by Ocelot. There's a ton I get, but also alot of "WHAT?" Like when fight like, 20 metal gear rays. I know that was simulated, but before then, running through the base with snake and your new sword. what the hell, was that even real? The list of WTF from MGS 2 is endless.

The Patriots, not just Ocelot.

BeastProwl wrote:There's a ton I get, but also alot of "WHAT?" Like when fight like, 20 metal gear rays. I know that was simulated

No, that was real. The Metal Gear Rays were AI controlled and mass produced, thus they were inferior to the original model, which was itself shown to be inferior or Metal Gear REX. Which is ironic when you consider Ray was designed as an Anti-Metal Gear. So it makes sense that while Snake struggled with one, Raiden could handle an army.

BeastProwl wrote:but before then, running through the base with snake and your new sword. what the hell, was that even real?

Well, yeah. It's not that anything was real or fake, Raiden was just having a massive existential crisis as a result of finding out basically everyone he knew was lying to him.

Although several characters seem to be aware they're in a video game. It's like the fourth wall isn't even there, they just don't always bring attention to that fact.

The offensive Vietnam reference called Napalm Man is no more, and Stone Man has crumbled into dust. I even picked up two of the 4 mandatory letters along the way, the "I" and "L". Only two more to go: Mr. Shiny and Mr. Choo-choo.

Well, he broke the fourth wall in the original version, not just Twin Snakes. "Don't even think of using turbo, or I'll know." Hell, the whole game was filled with fourth-wall-breaking.

Alliance of Valiant Arms [PC]:
Good thing I decided to take part in the "play a round a day to get some changes to win free crap" event. I won 150,000 in in-game cash, which is ridiculously slow to earn when playing normally. Decided to treat myself. Bought some new armour, a new Supply Pack, added extra sidearm ammo carrying capacity, a nice new P90 for my Point Man, a beastly new R4 for my Rifleman. Had enough left to customize both guns.

Reminds me of a bit in Arkham City during a Riddler rescue. Riddler comments something like "Surely the world's greatest detective can solve my test by himself without needing to go on the internet". I fell over laughing on that one.

The elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Still trying to be as off-story as possible. Joined the companions and ran two minor missions for them and they gave me a true mission. Went to a tunnel near Ivarstead and found a tomb and an amulet which ties into a different quest than I planned. Also explored the shroud barrow beneath Ivarstead. Found a fake ghost, which I whupped. Dug deeper and found a dragon's temple and earned a new animal friend shout.

Ocelot was the one who warned against using Turbo. But yeah, Mantis's whole schtick with breaking down the fourth wall Deadpool style is what makes him probably one of the best bosses ever. Using fairly mundane features in ways no one else really thought of. ("So, I see you like to play Castlevania!" "Who--jeez--wha--I--huh--") He does it once more in MGS4, with a few changes. (He can read a memory card just fine, but not a hard drive. Also, he doesn't like the Sixaxis)

Resident Evil 4:
Finished Separate Ways. It actually got easier as I went along. I don't know if enemy health started to lower, or if I was just getting the hang of things. Probably both. Unlocked the Chicago Typewriter, now moving on to Assignment Ada.

As Yahtzee put it, "Faff, and the world Faffs with you".
Translation: Lots of non-story items and general wandering. Explored to a few new areas and discovered Rorikstead. Major accomplishment in last session was another Companion mission. With Farkus in tow, explored an underground catacombs and fought tons of undead. In the midst of that, found out Farkus's big secret when we had to defend ourselves from a Purity group. At the end of it, found a piece of an artifact and a dragonshout. I now have ULTIMATE HALITOSIS!

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
Well, it's been a big day for Lelia, my sexy red-haired Miraluka Consular. Stopped a war from breaking out on Alderaan, thus making sure nothing bad will ever happen to that planet ever again. Stopped the Sith who was making all the Jedi Masters go insane, and the Council awarded me the title of Jedi Master myself, finishing Chapter 1, and unlocking Legacy stuff for all my characters. (Picked the name Beifong, after Toph from Avatar; like Toph, lelia is blind, sees via an unconventional method, and throws rocks at people) Saved a bunch of Senators in the Rift Alliance (Basically, planets that want to break away from the Republic) and now I'm working for them as part of the plan the Supreme Chancellor has to prove the Republic isn't a bunch of jerks. Then Lelia had sex with Theran Cedrax, a charming scientist from Nar Shaddaa, also my healer.

I guess the game takes place before that sort of thing was frowned upon by the Jedi community. Or at least before Kyle Katarn revived that rule.

This game just took itself up another notch. There's a 'Hangover' quest called "A Night to remember". I participated in a drinking contest, blacked out, woke up halfway across the map and was informed that I had0 trashed a temple to the goddess of Beauty, but only after fondling the statuary. Oops...
Quest is me trying to track down the guy I contested against to win my prize.

According to George Lucas, romantic relationships and marriage are frowned upon, casual sex isn't. Then I assume everyone made a quick aside glance at Aayla Secura and decided it was the best thing he'd ever said.

GAME OVER BEATEN! All Robot Masters down, won that rematch with Ballade, then escaped out of a self-destructing Wily Station.
The Wily Battleship wasn't that hard, but I was caught off-guard by a Boss Rematch room, something the earlier games didn't have. The real trouble came from Wily Robo Iron Golem and the Wily Capsule. Hard, and then some.

OK, the Game Boy Mega Man games are done. Now to hunt down II and V. :)

He moved my controller... :-s Seriously though, Psycho mantis is great. I heard he comes back in part four. What got me reeled up was the part my friend told me about. He makes you switch controller ports. When I played MGS 1 on the PS3, and he switched slots, I was confused for a minute, until I realized you could switch it in the PS3's main menu. In alot of ways, that's easier than bending over and unplugging the damn thing, or even worse, fiddling with wireless connections :BANG_HEAD: In the end though, he wasn't even a that bad of a guy. There are alot of MGS Bosses like that.

They may have been better writers working on Star Wars, but Lucas's word is law. It's his universe, after all, the EU writers are just guests in it.

Star Wars: The Old Republic:
Now working On Balmorra, but as my Consular. I actually have a problem with Balmorra now. It's the exact same map no matter the allegiance, but enemy levels and allied NPC locations are very different, and neither side really interacts. As opposed to Tatooine, where Republic and Imperial players can very easily run into each other, (And, in my case, have a Jedi-Sith Dance-off) but you don't get that on Balmorra, and it just kind of kills it for me.

I found an AWESOME Strategy on youtube for beating armored vehicles without doing so much as shooting them. Put on your sneaking suit, and hold up the soldiers on the sides of the truck/tank, then when it turns, it will run over and kill at least one. you need to time that part just right though. Fulton mine the other three, then go hide and wait for the soldiers to regroup, then repeat said process until the captain pops up, Tranque him, then mission over, you get a free vehicle, and an S rank, like, 20 new recruits to deal with/fire/whatever else. doing this and not getting caught is extremely hard though. It takes practice, lots and lots of practice. oh, and don't try this on Helicopters...

Still screwing around on Balmorra, working with a Twi'lek freedom fighter who also happens to be a total asswipe. "All right, you've started talks with the guy. I've got a team ready to move in and threaten his wife and child as 'persuasion.'" "What?! No! I'm a Jedi! I can do this the non-insane way!"

Star Trek Online:
It was free, that's my excuse. Although I now have both a Star Wars MMO and a Star Trek MMO on my computer. I'm fairly certain I have to give my hard drive a wedgie now, steal its lunch money, and stuff it in a locker. NEEERRRRD!

became a captain after the old captain got kerploded in a Borg attack, which I drove off because I am awesome. Now I'm chasing a shapeshifter around on a Vulcan colony being besieged by Klingons looking for the shapeshifter. The downside is, the Federation and the Klingon Empire are at war again, and the shapeshifter had the idea of turning into a Klingon commander, then pointing at me and screaming "There he is! Get him!" The Alex Mercer Special. I'd have finished it, but server maintenance got in the way.

I got a pair of hot alien chicks as officers on my ship. The downside is, I'm not the least bit turned on by women in Star Trek.

Stuck on Extra Op 102. That Custom's a pain in the ass. I fultoned out ALL of his soldiers, and he (The Captain) Didn't pop out! He just drove around the level for about twenty-five minutes, then I got sick of waiting, and I shot his gas tanks with the Gustav. Didn't do a damn thing. Turns out you need to do damage to that one to make the captain appear at all. And with weapons only rank 3 you get owned pretty fast.(Rank four and above would require unlocking EX OP 49, but to do that, I need to beat this one) I'm stuck in a rut. That damn thing is indestructable.

Hey, Shadowdude, are there any VR Missions in Twin Snakes? Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I can't seem to find them on the first disc's main menu.

I Know you asked someone else, but I can answer. the answer's no. They removed them. as to why, I don't know. Maybe Shadowman can answer that? As well as maybe give me a good way to blow up a certain 102 BTR-60 PB Custom thats been giving me a particularly nasty time as of late? The deal is, I take out all the soldiers, and the captain wont come out. I don't possess strong enough firepower to cripple it, so any sort of 3rd strategy for this?

My new sig should tell you a few things about where I stand in this game.
Still avoiding story missions like a plague. Just reached level 29 and am following a mostly Spellsword gameplay style. After running some quests for people in Markarth including retrieving the Jarl's father's shield, I now have a 2nd home in Markarth and was declared a thane. Finished a haunted house quest by delivering a holy man to a demon. Was hoping for a way to deny the request but the mission seemed to be locked in 'evil' mode so I murdered him, gave his soul to the demon, and got a nifty mace. Currently breaking into a Thalmor fortress to save a captured whiterun citizen. the game is bugged so there is no diplomatic option. Instead, we go the old fashioned, leave no witnesses route.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of Domination, aka the King of Rape. To be fair, though, not all of the Daedric Princes are a-holes.

Also, if you ever see a guy called "Sam Guevenne" in a bar or tavern, by the Nine, do that man's quest.

Finally beat the 102 BTR-60 PB Custom. Relatively easily actually, and I captured it to boot! All I really did was lay out supplies, go gung ho on everything with the highest grade explosives in my arsenal, and I got it down to two bars, and all the soldiers were dead, so the captain finally popped out, and I shot him in the head. -37 Heroism, and a C RANK. At least I beat it, and unlocked more EX OPS, but now, I have another problem, that goes by the name "Raider"
Image
This thing is the most powerful thing I have ever had to confront. Fighting ZEKE and Peacewalker both at ONCE seems easy stacked up next to this thing! I need to beat it to unlock a mission were I can get S Rank R&D Guys, so I can lvl up my weapons and gear, that way, **** like this won't be so difficult! The highest ranking weapon I have is 3 stars, and that's because my R&D Is WAY Behind, my intel is pretty high up there though. I can farm A ranks, but that's a pretty tall order, considering I need to do it in one of the harder "Perfect Stealth" Missions, and I need to go out of my way to find the ONE guy who's A ranked. I feel like I'm grinding at this point...
