Any chance I can commission a "down with pants" message in the sky? :D

Any openings on the server? Looking for a place to build that isn't locked to my PC. :-B

I don't think I'll be doing any skybuilding for a while. Even when crouching, I still fell to my death a bunch of times and lost a lot of stuff, including a diamond freakin' pickaxe. All of my rage. I want to build a blimp, but I'll probably do that over water to avoid all the deaths.

Sorry, bud, but the server's just for friends of ours from the Montreal area, people we hang out with in real life. No hard feelings?

I'll just take the image of you flailing wildly in freefall towards your imminent demise as recompense.
It's cool, I understand. :D

Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy!
Episode 5: The Armageddon Machine
GAME OVER BEATEN! The last level may seem dangerous, but it was actually quite easy. I used one of the homing Shikadi Mines to destroy the Quantum Explosion Dynamo, only to be hit by the shrapnel afterwards and dying. Nevertheless, my death was overwritten by the ending cutscene! What are the odds?

You know, it's kind of sad that a third Keen trilogy never came to pass, even if it was advertised. O well. Off to Fribbulus Xax (who creates those names?) to fight Bloogs (seriously, who makes those names?!) in Aliens Ate My Baby Sitter!

Still working my way through New York proper after losing Gould. Managed to find an Alien tower, though surrounded by aliens. Go figure. Did my part for pest control 8) and moving forward. Unfortunately, the guv'mint plans to flood the city to wipe out the aliens. Bad time for me to be underground. Time to hoof it.

Need for Speed: Hot pursuit
Up to level 7 on both Cop (patrolman II) and Racer (felon III) paths.

I still need to find some way of buying something off the internet and get that new DLC! I have like $80 (I feel so accomplished for having that much money!) but no way to buy anything that isn't physically at a store.

I swear, that title's intentionally lame... Anywho, cleared first two level before the first section, to say Bloogwater Crossing and Guard Post One. Going underground to find the grappling hook in one of the two Domes of Darkness, or I could have a snack above ground at Bloogfoods, Inc.

As long as we're comparing, here's my home in my current world.

From the terrace, you can see my next project, obviously still in the very, very early stages. There's a specific amount of money involved if you can guess what it is. $0.00 is specific, isn't it?

It's bad enough I don't have the dough to buy Minecraft, I also have to deal with both of you showing how totally freaking awesome it is. Now all I can do wait to get the money, and in the mean time, draw up plans to build the Geofront from Evangelion. Also Ganondorf's tower from Ocarina of Time. And some kind of floating palace.

OK, cleared the two Domes of Darkness and Bloogfoods, Inc., and have now in my possession the grappling hook and rope and... the second biggest sandwich Keen has ever seen? Anyway, off to second section, with Bloogton Manufacturing, Inc., Bloogton Tower, the extremely dangerous and completely optional Bloogdome (I hate Bloogs, I really do), then Guard Post Two.

Commander Keen AND Minecraft. This is the single greatest thread of the entire forum.

Your friendly neighborhood alphanumeric friend to the rescue! Go to http://www.minecraft.net/ and you'll see an orange "BUY NOW" button on the right. Under it, you'll find a link to the "free, but outdated" Minecraft Classic. You can play it for free, right in your browser if you want. Unfortunately, it requires Java, but you'll be able to deal with it.

Minecraft [PC]:
So my buddy and I cleared out an entrance to the new island we're colonizing so it can easily be reached by boat. Just grab a boat from Dock 16 (the harbour of Vault 1337), sail past the hotel, underwater base affectionately known as Rapture, castle with lava flows pouring out from under the library at the top and guarded by a wolf, the Tree Mile Island communal wood farm, and keep heading towards the twin lighthouses, dock at the beach, and follow the boardwalk.

We're building the Half-Life 2 Citadel out of Stone, which means we need a crap-ton of Stone. To make Stone, we need to use Cobblestone, which is abundant, but we just need a lot of it. And to turn Cobblestone into Stone, you need to smelt it in a Furnace with Charcoal (which you make from wood) or Coal (which you find while mining).

My friend made us a fancy "kitchen" with a bunch of Furnaces and since I was playing as a Chell skin (the female protagonist of Portal), I got stuck on kitchen duty. (There WAS a cake, though, and it gave us health.)

The Citadel is on an island (or at least a landmass) that is out of the way from our friends' town and completely unexplored, so we're having a lot of fun venturing out of the Citadel and poking around.

There are a lot of trees to the east of the Citadel, so while exploring, I climbed to the top of one and took a look around:
Image

It was a bonding experience, my friend and I both marvelling via mic at the pixelated beauty of the land that stretched before us, as far as the eye can see. Since it's near the Citadel, we're calling this area the White Forest. There's an ominous mountain I want to dub "Nova Prospekt," but it will take some exploring first in order to ascertain just how sinister it really is.

TL;DR, EFF YEAH, MINECRAFT. I'm also working on a Creeper costume for the next Montreal Comic Con.

Had a question on Team Fortress 2 for the Xbox:

If and when you get your Xbox live account and you can actually play the game, do you get tutorials on character classes or does it expect you to know each class from the inside out and go and play the game? I bought the Orange Box today and wanted to play TF2, but I don't have an Xbox live membership and had to play Portal instead (Not that Portal is bad, but I just wanted to play TF2).

Oh, Man, I am so, so sorry. TF2 on the 360 is the barest of bones. Any updates you see on the TF2 blog have not and will not occur on the 360. You bought the wrong version. Yes, you need Live membership, TF2 is multiplayer only. No, Tutorials are not on the 360, like everything else, that's PC only.

Here is a list of the differences between the PC and Console versions. They say they'll release the content updates for a fee, but at this point, they're probably better off just selling it to you as Team Fortress 3. There's literally three times as much content in PC version than there is on the 360 port. You only get six maps and three game modes on the 360 version, for instance. The PC version, has 46 official maps and eight game modes. And 76 unlockable weapons. And 160 cosmetic items. And trading and crafting systems. And the Mann Co. Store. And all manner of things.

What I'd do, if you just bought it, is go back, trade it in, then go home, get a Steam account (Which is free) and buy the Orange Box on the PC.

Problem is, I have an archaic old Late 2006 Mac Mini that has a crappy video card. I got TF2 for the 360 because TF2 for my Mac would probably be slow and poopy. And my dad can't get Steam to run on his new 27" iMac. So I guess that if I can't play Xbox TF2, I can't play it at all. #-o

TF2 has really, really low required specs. The game was released in 2007 but it's based on an engine from 2004. And running Steam has nothing to to do with specs or how old or new your computer is. it's only requirements are an internet connection and just a bit of hard drive space.

Still working on my current project and definitely my most ambitious so far.

Building the walls by digging out the ground in layers. I'm pretty deep already. The house is temporary as it's where I'm storing my materials. Should give you an idea where ground level used to be.

Been working on the Potato Fools Day ARG. As much as I can, at least, I only own three of the games. And while it contributes to the early release of portal 2...I didn't pre-order it, because I didn't have the money. (And I still don't!) So it's out of the goodness of my heart. Didn't know that was in there. It was buried under a bunch of dust-covered outdated torture devices.

Killing Floor:
Three potatoes here: The first one requires you get $70,000 in a single match and buy the potato, then use the password 'failed experiments' on the pop-up page. I used a custom map meant to help grind perks to do it fast. Kind of a cheat, but since I don't actually stand to gain anything here, I feel okay about it. You also need to do this one before the other two.

The second potato requires the new Aperture Science map. It's easier to do it with friends but it can be done alone. (Which I did) You get one of the Specimens to step on a particular Aperture Science Super-Colliding Super-Button, which opens a door. Run through, then finish the wave while in the small room. Chuck a grenade or two to blow open a small hole in the floor, heal up if you're hurt, then jump, heal again to take care of the massive fall damage, walk around to find another hole, repeat. there will be a small table with some graffiti on the wall behind it. Use one of the computers and there will be a pop-up window with a message from GLaDOS.

The third one is very, VERY easy: on Bedlam, there's a corpse lying on the ground not far from one of the Trader rooms. This can easily be done between waves.

AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA: A Reckless Disregard for Gravity:
The first one requires you to unlock a few specific levels, find a bunch of potato-themes polystructures in them, kiss them, then quickly exit the level and switch to the next. Kissing each one will raise a small percentage counter, but this will decrease slowly over time so you have to hurry. Once it get to 100%, put the code 'long fall' into the pop-up window.

The second requires to push a big red button on the main menu, input the quote "Killing you and giving you good advice aren't mutually exclusive." (Exactly that but without the quotation marks) then completing the level that load with five stars.

AudioSurf:
The first one requires you beat the song "Icy Murderous" from the Killing Floor soundtrack perfectly as Ninja Mono. this can be done by finding a shortened version on the ARG wiki. The code for this one is 'rail rider'

The second one is a bit odd: When you load a song, it'll be replaced by another Portal-themed song (Along with GLaDOS criticizing your taste in music) along with a Portal-Gun themes character. Completing this song and getting a gold medal gets you the second potato. I...haven't gotten this one yet.

The eighth potato requires you join This Group.

Portal 2 buyers, you are welcome. Do a cool portal stunt for me.

EDIT: Eighth potato, not seventh. Also, I wanted to point out that these are just three of the 13 games in the Potato Fools Day ARG.

Well, now's your chance. Supaplex has been declared freeware a couple years back, making it perfectly legal to download the full version. :)

Commander Keen
Episode 6: Aliens Ate My Baby Sitter!
After losing countless lives I decided to skip the Bloogdome for now, and just investigated Bloogton Manufacturing Inc. and Bloogton Tower. That escapade yielded me the Rocket Pass, the final item. Finally I smashed through Guard Post Two, and I ended up in the third section with Bloogville, and past the Grabbiter (who I fed the sandwich to), BASA (Bloog Aeronautics and Space Administration) and Guard Post Three.

Dragon Age II Demo [PC]:
Finished it, put up some screenshots here. I had fun. Plenty of action, the tactical element was well done, and the chicks are unfy. I felt the "pause teh game 2 get tacticool" element was much better here than it was in the first KOTOR, where it just felt awkward and out of place. Here, it was like a throwback to turn-based RPGs of olde.

I just started playing last night and I'd say it's just as impressive as Mass Effect! I already have 3 game files, and am about to start a 4th! I can't imagine how long it will take me to beat each of those.
I Am.

Dragon Quest 8 [PS2]
Well, I'm about 85+ hours into this game (does it ever end? lol)and I've found my way into the Dark World after chasing the shadow of Empyrea--a large bird who's the only creature powerful enough to help my team defeat Rapthorne (the main antagonist of the game).

The problem is Empyrea's partially trapped in the Dark World (her shadow still exists in the normal world), so my current mission is to find a way to get her back out. But things are never that simple in this game; first we have to save her egg from some enemies...sheesh!
